When it comes to washing my hands, I always prefer to use a hand wash rather than soap and my daughter is the same, when I last needed to buy some, my daughter was with me and she wanted this one.
===Price & availability===
The hand wash costs around £1.80 for a 250ml bottle which is inline with the Cussons range, what I will say it that I have noticed that although shops have a lot of promotions running on their hand wash products, this one never seems to be included. It is widely available from supermarkets and high street chemists.
===The hand wash===
The hand wash comes in a small square shaped clear bottle which is topped with a pump, the product is bright pink. Upon the first pump, the fragrance o the product is evident, it took me straight back to my school days when I used to buy Strawberry Laces from Woolworth's when out shopping with my friends. Lauren too loves the fragrance and she is actually eager to wash her hands when I tell her too rather than being moaned at. I always know when she has used it too as the fragrance stays on her hands for quite a while afterwards, it also leaves my bathroom smelling quite sweet.
I would say that the hand wash it quite thick and it has more of a gel like consistency that soap, I find that is lathers up really quickly and I only need one pump to give my hands a good clean.
I always like to buy Cussons, mainly because they claim the hand wash kills 99.9% of germs, having a daughter who likes to put her hand everywhere she shouldn't, and having a house full of animals means that I want to make sure her hands are clean, especially at meal times.
I would definitely recommend this hand wash and it gets 5 out of 5 stars from me.
Thanks for reading.
I bought this for the kids because it is always such a struggle to get them to wash their hands before we eat after they have been outside and I seen the bottle in Boot’s and thought that they might like it.
The colour is attractive for children especially as it is a bright pinky red and looks almost like a jelly. It is just fun and cute and perfect for kids.
The kids love strawberry laces sweets so I was pretty sure that I could sell this hand wash to them based on that. The smell is gorgeous and it actually does smell like strawberry laces unlike a lot of things which claim to smell like something and then don’t end up smelling anything like them.
Although I would say this is primarily for kids that doesn’t mean that adults can’t enjoy it too because I love the scent of it myself as does my husband and he is normally really funny about the smell of things.
This is made by Carex who I already know from experience do nice hand washes. They are usually on the more practical side and this one also claims to kill 99.9% of germs as well as smelling good. It makes hands feel really clean and is good at lathering and removing visible dirt from the skin and under nails. Although it cleans very well it isn’t harsh and is actually quite gentle which I think is important especially for delicate children’s skin.
This only costs £1.85 and I would heartily recommend it to all parents who are trying to instill good hand washing techniques in their children because using this certainly makes it easier than using normal hand wash or soap as it makes washing your hands that little bit more fun. As an added bonus it isn’t just for kids and can also be used by the whole family.
As mentioned in a previous review, my other half got this handwash long with the chocolate Orange one when it was on offer. I was dubious about handwash that smelt of chocolate or sweets but had loved the chocolate one once I had tried it.
The Strawberry Laces wash is a nice vibrant pink coloured wash in a clear plastic bottle with an image of strawberry laces on the front. There is a pump action dispenser at the top which gives you just the right amount of handwash and is no mess. When you use the wash the smell of strawberry laces is strong but delicious! These special edition hand washes really have been made well, they smell exactly like strawberry laces and chocolate Orange, they is no mistaking them.
The wash leathers up easily and gives enough lather to wash off even dirty toddler paws haha. The wash is not drying on skin, which I did worry about as sometimes with a novelty product such as this I do wonder if things such as look or scent would become more important that the actual quality. In the cases of these soaps this is not true. Hands feel clean after use, not dried out and smell like the Strawberry Laces which is a nice crisp fresh scent.
The fact that the handwash smells like sweets has also been a great encouragement for our son to wash his hands. Always a bonus!
The handwash is somewhat of a novelty product and is bound to be asked about by any visitor to your home who uses it but that doesn't stop it also being a good handwash as well.
It only seems like yesterday that I was part of the training and development team at Australia's largest contract catering company.
I learned and taught a lot about food handling and food hygiene, including just how "awful" washing with a bar of soap and a nail brush can be.
Over the years I have bought and used many different types, brands, and fragranced hand wash products.
Carex strawberry laces hand wash
This product is sold in a 250ml clear, pump-top plastic bottle that is shaped and styled in the typical Carex manner and style.
The bottle's volume of pink contents can be easily seen at any time . The pump works well and the hand wash is dispensed easily.
The lovely, strawberry fragrance is immediately obvious. I always wet my hands first (as per my medical training) and then use one pump of this wash. This product lathers up nicely and also rinses away easily.
We use this hand wash in our family bathroom, so our four year old daughter uses it more than we do. She has no problems with using it, and she also tells me that she loves that her hands still smell nice for a little while afterwards. I find that the scent lingers for around 20 minutes.
The bottle also states that the hand wash 'kills 99.9% of bacteria' which is good to know (I don''t like hand washes that aren't anti-bacterial). The hand wash recommends 2 pumps per wash but I generally find that 1 is enough for me.
This hand wash treats our hands fine. It is not overly moisturising nor does it dry out our skin.
Recommended if you use hand wash products domestically. I do feel guilty that no refill products are available. This product retails between £1 - £1.50.
Please note. I may choose to publish this review elsewhere under this or other usernames.
The antibacterial hand wash has been created to make hand washing fun. The product effectively removes dirt and germs and the special blend of moisturisers helps keep your skin feeling soft. It kills 999% of bacteria and is dermatologically tested by experts. The hand wash comes in a clear plastic bottle which is handy as you can see when the product is running low. The bottle is a square like shape, although it does have rounded edges to it and goes in slightly at the middle. The pump dispenser is white and you will need to turn this to the one position before using the hand wash. On the front of the bottle it clearly states what the product is and that it kills 99.9% of bacteria. On the back you can find out a little more information about the product and also a list of ingredients. You can clearly see that the hand wash is a bright pink colour which would probably appeal to girls a lot more than it would to boys.
I purchased a 250ml bottle of the hand wash from my local Boots store where it's on offer for £1.00. The full price of this item is around £1.85.
USING THE PRODUCT:
I wet my hands under the running tap and then pressed down on the pump once and a small amount of the pink coloured liquid came out. The consistency of the product seemed to be gel like, although it wasn't too thick. I rubbed my hands together and as I did so I could smell the Strawberry Lace scent of the product. This was a nice scent although I did think it smelt a little odd at the same time. The hand wash lathered up a little so my hands felt as though they were getting a really good clean. After washing my hands, they felt nice and clean and they had a light scent on them which was quite nice. I did find that the scent seemed to disappear quite quickly though. I have to admit that I actually found this product to be quite drying on my hands and although I didn't notice this straight away I did an hour or so after washing my hands as they looked a little dry and felt slightly tight as well. I actually felt the need to apply some hand cream which I happened to keep in my bag that I take to work.
Due to the product making my hands feel and look dry I probably wouldn't purchase it again although I think children will really like this handwash and they will love that their hands smell of sweeties. I definitely prefer the bubblegum handwash to this one.
I had been meaning to get around to trying the new Carex range of 'foody' scented hand washes for a while. The time finally came a couple of months ago when I saw them on offer in Sainsbury's! I stocked up with 3 different scented Carex hand washes - Cola Bottles, Chocolate Orange and Strawberry Laces.
I haven't yet tried the Chocolate Orange but I have tried the Cola Bottles which is lovely and most recently Strawberry Laces, which is also pretty wonderful.
The hand wash comes in a 250ml transparent bottle and looks similar to the other Carex hand washes but with subtle strawberry laces underneath the logo. It has a pump top and dispensing the hand wash is very easy and convenient. I wasn't too convinced that the hand wash would smell like strawberry laces but it really does. It's an absolutely gorgeous scent that is very sweet and is sure to bring back childhood memories for many! We previously had a different brand of strawberry hand wash (but not laces) and I found it overpowering and actually quite vile.
The bottle reads 'Family Favourite Fragrance' which is completely true as everybody in my family loves the scent and I have noticed that my daughter hasn't stopped washing her hands since I placed Strawberry Laces hand wash in the bathroom! I definitely think this is a great hand wash to encourage children to wash their hands more often. The bottle also states that the hand wash 'kills 99.9% of bacteria' which is good to know (I don''t like hand washes that aren't anti-bacterial). The hand wash recommends 2 pumps per wash but I generally find that 1 is enough for me. The hand wash lathers well and the smell is very apparent when using it. The scent also transfers well to the skin and appears to stay on my hands for up to thirty minutes. It is said to have 'added moisturisers' and I must say I have experienced no problems with my skin whilst using this hand wash, my hands have always been left soft and smooth after use.
Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Wash normally costs around the 1.50 mark but can often be found on offer (I got mine for 80p) and is available at most supermarkets. I have been using my current bottle regularly for a few weeks and there is still lots left, so it's pretty good value for money too. I'm happy to recommend.
This Carex Strawberry Laces Hand Wash is a great smelling hand wash that is ideal for everyone but especially children. The liquid soap cleans well, removes dirt and kills germs and bacteria. It is scented like strawberry sweets and this fragrance is left on the skin after washing. The hand wash is a little bit more expensive than the cheapest hand washes in the supermarkets but I think it is worth the extra cost because it is so enjoyable to use. I love the pump action button and it dispenses the exact amount of gel needed to clean your hands. The gel lathers up well in warm water and is also easy to wash away. It comes in a transparent bottle that is fully recyclable after removing the pump dispenser. I would definitely buy this again as it is a helpful aid in the kitchen or bathroom. It is the most unique hand wash I have found in terms of having this unusual fragrance. I would recommend this to people who clean their hands a lot but especially to mothers who are looking to encourage youngsters to wash their hands more often. The hand wash is fun and unusual and after I use it I can''t stop smelling my skin. I would buy this again and would also recommend the brand.
I came acreoss the carex cola cubes the other week whilst doing my shopping and the kids love it. So I though I would see what other smells they have this one jumped out on me for the colour and I thought strawberry laces I have to have this. I bought this for £1. When I got it home I was dieing to give if ago. Mmm smells delicious this is a great hit with my girl cousins. It's great to get them mucky kids to wash there hands. One of the best £1 I have spent. You will always find a anti bacteria hand wash in my kitchen and bathroom now it's carex cola in kitchen and carex strawberry laces in the bathroom. I no longer have to check the kids have washed there hands as they normally can't wait. A few times I have had to say I think you have washed them enought now.
Strawberry laces remind me of one thing ... school discos, of awkwardly standing on the opposite side of the room to boys & drinking coca cola through strawberry laces!
I love the Carex brand and I do normally have one particular Carex that I always buy, but when I saw these in my local Tesco memories came flooding back and I had to stock up!
I am a slight 'anti bacterial' fanatic ... I like my soap & cleaners to be able to kill whatever germs my messy flat throws at them without being damaging to my hands. My hands are quite dry throughout the year, and become even drier when I'm cleaning my flat or cooking (which needs constant hand washing!) so the Carex brand really helps to keep my hands feel lovely & really soft while killing all germs.
The smell is really lovely, sweet & long lasting smell. The soap smells just like the real strawberry laces rather than an artificial attempt to recreate a smell!
Now although I don't have children, my boyfriend and I are both 25 and had the same nostalgic reaction to using this soap. So not only is it 'Family friendly' its 'Grown up's who having quite grown up' friendly too!
One thing that you will always find in my kitchen and bathroom is a bottle of antibacterial hand wash. I will normally just purchase the original variety but couldn't resist trying the new cussons carex strawberry laces fragrance hand wash when I spotted it recently.
I purchase the hand wash from Asda where it was offer for just 90p for a 250ml bottle which I thought was excellent value for a branded hand wash.
The hand wash comes packaged in a clear plastic bottle with a pump action dispenser. I love that the plastic is clear as it allows you to see the bright pink hand wash inside which looks really funky on my kitchen sink. On the front and back of the bottle there is stick on labels which detail all of the product information including ingredients listings and directs for use. It also states that it has been dermatologically tested for skin kindness and contains added moisturisers.
The directions for use state to use two pumps of the hand wash with warm water and to wash your hands for at least 15 seconds. I have been following these instructions and have been very impressed with the results. I get a lovely lather and the fragrance is lovely and does remind me of the strawberry lace sweets as it is sweet and fruity smelling. The fragrance does linger on my skin for a while after use but is not too overpowering, my hands are also left feeling cleansed, fresh and soft. Obviously you cannot see the antibacterial action working but it states that this hand wash kills 99.9% of bacteria which I think is pretty impressive and just what you need in a kitchen when handling food.
Overall I have been really impressed with this carex hand wash it makes a lovely change to the usual boring hand washes and leaves my skin feeling clean and soft as well as killing off those nasty germs. A little also goes a long way making excellent value especially if you can find it on special offer.
I bought this hand wash on a recent trip to the supermarket for two reasons. Firstly, the colour pink appealed to my girly side and second of all because the 'strawberry laces' appealed to my inner child.
About the product
The product promises to get your hands squeaky clean and fresh. The product is an antibacterial hand wash which claims that it will remove dirt and germs from the hands. It also contains moisturisers so that your hands are left feeling soft and smooth. It promises to protect your family's hands and to appeal to your senses with a delicious sweet strawberry scent.
Packaging and Price
The product come contained within a clear plastic bottle and there is a picture of a strawberry and some strawberry laces on the front. It has a white pump dispenser in order to dispense the product. The product is available for around £1.50 and it can be bought from stores such as Superdrug and Boots, large supermarkets and also from a range of online websites.
Application and Performance
The product is a gorgeous hot pink shade which is cute on display in my bathroom. The product has an aroma which suits the product down to the ground. It smells just like strawberry laces and it is fruity, sugary and sweet. This product would really appeal to children and would probably encourage them to start washing their hands more often which is never a good thing.
The dispenser is easy to push down on and plenty of the product is really with each pump. I wet my hands with water before applying the product. It has the consistency that you would expect from a hand wash and it glides easily across the hands as you massage it into the skin without pulling or dragging. It foams and bubbles nicely making you feel like its doing a good job of cleansing the hands. The product smells delicious throughout this process.
Due to my job, I am always getting covered in paint and pen and this hand wash removes it all easily with minimum rubbing. The product is easily rinsed off when you have finished and the formula is gentle, causing no irritations. My hands don't feel especially soft after use but they definitely don't feel tight or dry either. My hands feel fresh and clean, and the lovely scent lingers on the hands too.
All in all, this is a fun hand wash which leaves the hands squeaky fresh and clean. It has a fun fragrance and cute colour which means this will appeal to both children and adults. It is gentle on the hands, cleanses well and doesn't dry out the skin. I really like this product and would recommend it.
After buying the cola bottle handwash I thought that I would be quite adventurous when I bought my next handwash, so decided to go for a "strawberry laces" flavoured handwash instead. my nieces are a massive fan of strawberry laces and are always asking me to buy it for them so I knew they would be happy about this handwash.
What does the product do?
Like every other hand wash this product is designed to clean hands and get rid of bacteria and dirt leaving hands feeling fresh. The main thing that catches people's attention with this product is the flavour as it is very unusual and different to what they usually expect.
My personal opinion
Just like the cola bottle flavoured hand wash I was happy every time I used this. The smell was sweet but not overbearing it is as if you are actually holding strawberry laces. Just as I expected my nieces were major fans of this handwash and made any excuse just to wash their hands. It is safe to say that this product is a firm favourite with kids so if you have any I would highly recommend buying it as it will encourage them to wash their hands.
Overall I really liked using this product and it certainly brightened up my plain bathroom, I would recommend it especially to those who have young kids that are quite reluctant to wash their hands.
Today I'd like to review the Strawberry Laces hand wash by Carex.
I discovered this hand wash at Tesco whilst doing my usual shopping! The colour of the hand wash immediately appealed to me - I just love pink products and buy them whenever possible. When I saw that the scent of the hand wash is called "Strawberry Laces" I was won over! I don't think I have used a Carex product before, so from the view of a dedicated product tester this was very exciting. ;)
This hand wash comes in a slightly square-shaped, see-through plastic bottle with rounded edges. The blue Carex-logo can be seen in the middle with two waterdrop-like creatures looming above it, one saying "family favourite fragrance" in a white speech bubble. A pink swirl that looks like it is coming from behind the Carex-logo is shaped like strawberry laces-candy and the scent's name is stated in pink letters with a little strawberry next to it.
On the back of the bottle there is light blue label with all the product information you could desire. ;) The product is described as a "fun antibacterial hand wash that the whole family will love to use". The product is supposed to be "effective yet gentle in helping to prevent the spread of germs". The germ-killing formula of the hand wash is said to be working within seconds. It contains added moisturisers, supports the skin's natural antibacterial defences and was deramtologically tested for skin kindness.
The product's ingredients are listed as well.
The bottle can be recycled and contains 250ml.
I loved this hand wash from the first minute on! The scent is incredibly pleasant and really does smell like the famous strawberry laces candy and has a lovely pink colour. I used to love eating those strawberry laces when I was younger so the scent of this product awakens pleasant childhood memories. In general I really like candy-like scents, so this product is perfect for me!
I felt like the promises made on the back of the bottle were kept. My hands always felt and looked clean after washing them with this product. It is indeed very gentle to the skin and doesn't dehydrate at all, so I do think it is indeed suitable for the whole family. I tend to wash my hands a lot, sometimes more than neccessary, and still they felt great!
The bottle lasted me quite a while. I live by myself and use this at pretty much every trip to the bathroom and after a month it still wasn't empty yet!
If you have allergies or very sensitive skin, you should of course check the list of ingredients before buying this product!
Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Polyquaternium-7, Parfum, Sodium Benzoate, Lactic Acid, tetrasodium Glutamate, Diacetate, Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol, CI 17200.
At the moment you can get this lovely handwash for just £0.85 at Tesco.
I love this hand wash! It cleanses perfectly and smells fabulous. I suppose you have to be fond of candy-scented products to enjoy it, but if that's a thing for you, have a go!! :)
So I am into the final review of these Carex hand washes. Now it was abit of an unexpected review to be honest because whilst dooyoo got me into these hand washes, I thought I was done. I had review the cola ones after purchase, I had reviewed the chocolate orange after purchase and honestly, I did not think much of the Strawberry Laces. I did not purchase them.
My wife arrived home the other day, having purchased the Strawberry Laces. Bugger I thought! Something that I was not keen on, was not in my house.
So lets just go over what we have. Carex have produce three scents to add to their hand wash. These are mentioned above. The idea is good as it encourages kids to wash their hands and in turn it kills 99% of bacteria. They come in a 250ml pump action plastic bottle
Incase you are not picking up on it, these is not my favourite. Unscrew the top and take a whiff and you do not really get the smell of the sweets. You can get a small whiff of Strawberry but that its. Nothing like the sweets.
The liquid is a nice strawberry red colour which is clear in look. Once applied to the hand with some warm water you start to scrub. Result? An ok Strawberry smelling liquid but just does not do it for me. The smell that is. I am sure it kills the bacteria, but if you really want Strawberry Laces then its not worth investing in. Try the cola or the chocolate orange version.
The cost of these vary across the various supermarkets. Its £1.80 in Tesco or £0.92 in Sainsburys. Hold out if you can because I see these on offer alot of the time for approximately £1.
I've seen a lot of reviews on here for the Carex flavoured hand washes and so when I needed to replace my hand soap I decided to try one of them. The cola bottles flavour didn't really appeal to me so I went for the Strawberry Laces one. I bought it in Boots for £1.85 for 250ml - this is maybe a little bit more than I'd usually pay, but I fancied it!
The soap is in a pump and the pump dispenses exactly the right amount for washing my hands. It lathers up well and rinses off without any residue or sticky feeling (which I was a bit worried about because of the very sweet smell). It's not a moisturising hand wash, but it's not drying either - I will tend to use some hand moisturiser as well if I'm washing my hands a lot.
The smell of this hand wash is really great. It smells exactly like Strawberry Laces. Whenever I wash my hands the smell fills up my sink area and I can usually smell it on my hands for a while after (but it's not too strong).
The downside to this is that the men in your life might not want to smell like strawberry! The upside is that I'm sure any children in your life probably will want to! I think this is a nice idea if you have children of a toilet-training age that you might want to further encourage them to wash their hands after going to the toilet - it certainly adds something a little more fun to it. I also put mine in a fun soap dispenser (a Poodle shaped one from Octopus/Pylon) which is also a must for reminding little ones to wash their hands.
The claims on the bottle are that it kills 99.9% of bacteria - I have no proof of this, but my hands feel clean and Carex is a brand I trust for keeping me hygienic.
I give this product 5/5 - can't knock anything off from my personal opinion. If there was one tiny thing I'd add it's that they should introduce a 'refill' bottle without the pump to save on wasteful packaging - if you keep buying their products (or have your own dispenser like me) you don't need the pump and it's just extra unnecessary plastic. Other than that a great, fun soap!
