I was given this hand cream for my last birthday and I love it! Its wonderful old fashioned rose smell evokes fond childhood memories.
Its not just the smell that has a retro feel, the tube itself harks back to pre plastic days and appears to be made of a thinnish, but pliable metal. This isnt as easy to use as a plastic tube - the metal can bend into odd shapes that are not easy to straighten out, but somehow it suggests a superior quality. I cant hold this minor defect against it and will have to award 5 stars.
The cream itself is a thickish white and only a little is needed with each application. It isnt oily or greasy and the beautiful rose smell stays on your hands for quite some time. My hands feel lovely and soft after use.
The tube comes in a pretty white box with pink roses dotted over it and makes a lovely gift for anyone special in your life. I have seen it on sale in numerous places, including the Cath Kidston shops, Waitrose and a variety of gift shops and garden centres. It can also be found online at Amazon. It generally retails at around £8, which is quite expensive for a hand cream, but I have seen it regularly on sale with a 20% discount and also a 3 for the price of 2 offer.
If you also fall in love with the scent it is possible to buy other beauty products in the same range, such as shower gel, soap, hand wash, bath melts, drawer liners, body lotion, hand balm and a variety of gift packs. I shall wait until Waitrose have their 3 for 2 offer on again and I will be popping in and stocking up on the whole range.
Rose is a scent that always reminds me of my mum as it is her favourite and she has a variety of different lotions and potions in this beautiful garden aroma and so every so often, birthdays and Christmas's etc I buy her some Cath Kidston rose products as they have captured the scent very well and produced some great products in the rose flavour. One of their best products is this Rose hand cream which inevitably I have ended up using as well as I like it so much.
I always like to keep a little tube of nice looking hand cream in each one of my handbags and this tube is not only handy it is very pretty too. The tube has a lovely flowery design on the front and is definitely very in keeping with the whole Cath Kidston old fashioned beautiful housewife chic look that she has created. The tube has a nice screw top at the bottom and a 75ml tube costs £8, a little bit expensive yes but worth it if you like this sort of thing.
The smell is really quite strong but in a nice way as I always find that a nice rose smell should be quite strong. This is quite a flowery scent as opposed to a powdery smell like some rose smells can be. Cath Kidston describe this fragrance as the marrying of soft rose with luxurious Italian orris, white amber and tonka beans. The cream is really quite thick which I love. When you squeeze it out onto your hands it stays in a big dollop on your hands so you know that when you rub it in it really really cling to your hands and give you all over moisture. The cream is formulated to not only be good for your hands but good for your nails too and I find after use it always make my hands feel nice and soft and well scented!
I have tried several different hand creams as I tend to get quite dry hands especially in the winter time. This one is a lovely cream as it fits all needs when looking for some nourishment for your hands!
The cream itself is lovely to apply as it smells delicious and feels so silky smooth on your skin. Not only this but it absorbs very quickly which is obviously very important as its super annoying to have to sit there waiting for hand cream to absorb for ages.
It smells as pretty as the packaging is - of roses and other floral scents. The packaging is adorable with a lovely cath kidston floral print on the outer box and the actual tube is very pretty. This makes this a perfect gift for friends or relatives.
This handcream also lasts for a very long time so although it costs £8, you deffinately get your moneys worth.
I'd highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a nice smelling hand cream that leaves your hands lovely and soft!
I suffer from dry hands, especially in winter (like most people do!) but this cream is fantastic!
On the outside the packaging is gorgeous with signature Cath Kidston print, so this cream also looks lovely stood on your dressing table!
It's really rich and deeply moisturising. You only need a small amount and it will keep your hands gorgeously soft all day. I received this for christmas and because it was so nourishing I still had the tube 9 months later! So although it comes across as quite expensive it's totally worth it because it lasts so long and really makes your hands soft.
Some rich hand creams have the problem of making your hands greasy, I know myself I sometimes have to wash the palms of my hands to get rid of the greasy feel after using some moisturisers, but not with this product! It leaves no greasy residue and is absorbed almost immediately.
On a final note, it also smells GORGEOUS! But if you don't like rose then stay away because the smell is fairly strong!
As I have mentioned in previous reviews, I use a lot of hand cream as dry skin on my hands is an occupational hazard for me. I'm not really bothered about the smell of the cream; all I want it to do is moisturise my hands effectively.
A friend of mine bought me some Cath Kidston Rose hand cream for Christmas last year and I opened and used it for the first time the other day and loved it!
The cream comes in a lovely patterned box with the brand and product name printed on the side and inside the box is the tube of cream, which reminds me a little bit of a tube of tooth paste with a screw top lid. The tube itself is silver in colour and with a mint green sticker on the front that also states the product brand and name and has a little description of the cream. On the back of a tube is another description of the cream and a list of ingredients. (This is a description of the packaging of the cream I have, however on the website, the packaging of the cream has since changed and is now white and pink with little flowers on it).
The tube states that this cream contains no parabens (chemicals commonly used in cosmetics), sulphates or colours and is 'natural blend enrich with moisturisers', making it suitable for people with sensitive skin.
The cream itself it a little thicker than I would normally prefer but spread and absorbs so quickly and easily that the consistency of the cream doesn't bother me at all. Once absorbed there is no greasy feeling left on my hands and my skin feels lovely and smooth after using the cream and seems to moisturise my skin really well. It also as an added bonus has beautiful Rose scent that is quite strong but not overpoweringly so.
The cream comes out of the tube very easily with just a little squeeze and only a small amount of cream is needed as it gives very good coverage - a little definitely goes a long way. As I have already said, the cream is quite thick but spreads easily over your hands and absorbs quickly. The dry skin on my hands disappeared and my hands stayed moisturised for a good couple of hours before the effects started to wear off and I had to think about applying more. I also really like the Rose scent. This is one of the most effective moisturisers I have used recently and so it is currently taking pride of place in my hand bag.
I would definitely recommend this hand cream to anyone as it is a stylish, effective hand cream that smells gorgeous. It is available to buy from the Cath Kidston website for £8.00 which is a lot more than I would usually spend on hand cream but for this I think is worth it.
