      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      No outstanding results. Will continue the search for the perfect anti ageing hand cream

      Recently I noticed that my hands were starting to look a bit crepey and looking a bit older than the rest of me. This is probably a combination of age and a lack of care. So I thought I would try to do something about it and invested in Decleor Nourishing and Soothing Hand Cream. The reasons I chose this particular Hand Cream were that firstly I had tried a few other Decleor products and found them effective and pleasurable to use and more importantly, this product claims to 'Help limit the signs of ageing, fine lines and age spots' 'Helps reduce excessive perspiration' 'Nourishes and protects from external aggressors to leave the skin satin soft'.

      The first thing I noticed when I opened this was the smell, and not in a good way. Usually Decleor products have a really nice smell, but not in this case. In fact, initially, it actually made me feel quite nauseous. However, desperate for nice smooth hands I have persevered with this and try not to inhale the aroma.

      The Hand cream comes in a bright yellow tube with the Decleor branding and product details printed on the front and back. The tube has a screw top lid. Personally I think flip tops are more practical on a product which you apply to your hands for obvious reasons. The cream itself is really light in texture but you really don't need to use a large amount. It sinks in really well, does not leave any greasy residue and your hands do feel very soft and nourished after use. I have found this effect to last for several hours unlike some I have used in the past which have simply disappeared and actually made the hands feel dry.

      Unfortunately, I have not noticed a significant change in the appearance of my hands. They do look more nourished therefore slightly less crepey but I am not convinced this is solely as a result of this particular product , maybe, the same effect could have been achieved equally as well with another product, given the fact that I wasn't using hand cream overly regularly before this. No exceptional results in the anti ageing department here I'm afraid. It does condition the nails and cuticles quite well though.

      I purchased a 50ml tube of this and it has lasted quite well but for a product that you may need to use several times per day due to washing and at night as well I think a larger size would be better. (If you like the smell that is). The normal price for a 50ml tube is £14.00 but it can currently be purchased from Cheapsmells.com at £7.95 including delivery.

      Conclusion: Not a good smell, and, given the price tag and claims I would have expected more of an anti ageing effect from this product. For me, the search continues for a good anti ageing hand cream.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        A decent enough moisturiser, time will tell

        I received some Decleor nourishing and soothing hand cream as a Christmas present from my sister-in-law. I am at an age when my skin is beginning to change and I need to take care of it to avoid it looking too old too soon. I have noticed that the skin on my hands seems to be showing signs of ageing - dryness, wrinkles and pigmentation changes.

        I use the Decleor hand cream at night before I go to bed, perhaps I should use it more often. I haven't really noticed much difference in my hands, but perhaps the secret is that it will slow the signs of age rather than reverse any existing signs.

        The information on the back of the packaging states that the cream will "nourish and smooth", "helps reduce signs of ageing" and helps "reduce excessive perspiration". The ingredients include:
        * Meadow foam oil;
        * Shea butter;
        * Parsley;
        * Dyer's weed;
        * Bearberry plant complex;
        * Vitamin E Ester;
        * Cypress essential oil; and
        * There is a host of other ingredients and chemicals, but I will not list them all.

        It only takes a little of the cream to cover the hands, it is quite a fluid cream, not runny but has quite a wet feeling. It has a very distinct smell, quite a manufactured smell, not natural, this is pleasant but could be a little overpowering if you apply too much. The cream soaks into the skin very easily and it doesn't leave the skin feeling greasy. The directions advise to apply everyday, and I assume this is just once a day. This is not a moisturiser that I would want to apply throughout the day as the smell would be a little overpowering.

        The Decleor cream is packaged in a very distinctive bright yellowy/orange plastic tube with a screw top lid and then enclosed in a box, the box is just pointless and a waste of packaging. My tube of the cream is 50ml/1.69 fl.oz. There is a large range of Decleor products to choose from and more information can be found at www.decleor.com

        I do find this is a good general hand moisturiser but I do not think it merits the price that it has, I have seen prices ranging from £10.00 to nearly £20.00. I have been using the cream for a number of months but do not really see any difference. It was nice to receive this cream as a gift and if I received it again I would use it but it is not something I would buy for myself even as a treat.

          Advantages

          Disadvantages

          Definitely won't be buying again!

          I bought this from Cheapsmells.com at a cost of £9.55 when I tried a few of Decleor's other products after they were recommended to me by a work colleague.

          My first disappointment came when I tried to open the cream and found it does not have a flip lid but a screw top lid. This made it rather awkward when squeezing out a dollop and then having to close it.

          Anyway, on to the hand cream itself. I found the cream to have a nice creamy texture that sinks in nicely without leaving a sticky residue on your hands. The thing that is horrible about the cream is unfortunately the smell. Every time I put the cream on I was hit by the very unpleasant smell. I also found the Liz Earle hand cream to have a horrible smell so maybe it's just me. Also my friend at work says she loves the smell but, unfortunately, it's not for me. A couple of days later I ended up throwing it in the bin. A total waste of money....
