For the last year I have worked as a Health Care Assistant in a residential home and over this time I have used an unbelievable amount of hand sanitizer and it isn't even provided by the company. Since I have to buy Sanitizer myself I tend to buy whichever is cheapest at the time and I came across this Dettol version on sale in the Asda near to work.

The sanitizer comes in a small plastic bottle which is an ideal size to slip in my uniform pocket or hanging from my pocket on a pulley cord. The bottle is see through so you can see how much product you have left which is important for me so I can see when I need to put an extra bottle in my handbag. The bottle doesn't have a nozzle like most of these products do but actually works by squeezing the bottle which I quickly found is useless as when bending and crouching to deal with residents I found I was putting pressure on the bottle and ending up with wet patches on my uniform.

The gel is actually quite runny compared to others that I have used so you have to be ready to rub it in when you dispense it, the gel promises to kill 99.9% of germs which is the whole point of using a sanitizer and means when moving from one resident to another if I cannot get to a sink to wash my hands properly I can be sure my hands are clean and near enough germ free. The gel is easy to spread around my hands and it doesn't leave my hands feeling sticky which I have found with some cheaper sanitizers.

The product smells of alcohol and it most certainly contains a lot of alcohol, this sort of product is a must in my line of work however as I have contact dermatitis when my hands are particularily bad they split and this sanitizer really stings.

I will personally stick with other sanitizers such as Carex as I find this a much nicer product and a better way of dispensing too, I will rate this 3 stars from 5 as I don't like the strong alcohol smell and the dispensing of the product isn't good for me.
