~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ An essential purchase ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I am not a big fan of using traditional bars of soap so liquid hand washes are an essential purchase for me. I have no real brand loyalty and go for whatever is on offer in general. This hand wash from Dove is widely available and costs around the £2 mark when not on offer. The product promises to both clean and moisturise hands. This comes in packaging that immediately tells me this is part of the Dove range. It is mainly white with a dark blue pump dispenser. It is very simple, and neutral enough to fit in with any bathroom scheme I think! ~~~~~~~~~ Creamy white ~~~~~~~~~ Inside, the hand wash is a rich, creamy white with quite a strong scent It has a very 'soapy' smell which is very fresh and clean smelling. And although it is quite strong, it is a neutral fragrance that I think is pretty inoffensive! This is very pleasant to use as it has such a nice creamy texture. I find that one small pump is enough to produce a rich lather that feels very moisturising to use. It does feel like it is giving hands a nice moisture boost, and it is definitely a more creamy-feeling hand wash than others I have used. After rinsing and drying hands, they are left feeling soft and smooth, and I would say that my hands certainly feel softer than after using other hand washes. The scent also lingers, which is nice as it is a nice fresh and clean fragrance. ~~~~~~~~~~ In summary ... ~~~~~~~~~~ I would say that this is a really good hand wash. It cleans and moisturises hands well, and has a fragrance that is suitable for all the family. It is quite a strong scent, but it isn't unpleasant at all. So if you can get this for a good price then I would highly recommend it.
My work place is quite good when it comes to buying bathroom products, they tend to buy reasonably good quality toilet roll and hand wash at which I can't complain. The ladies loos are often stocked with this Dove Cream Wash hand soap. The product comes in a shapely strong plastic bottle that is coloured white so you cannot see the product inside. The shape is tall, relatively thin and slightly oval with a flat base. On the top of the bottle is the blue pump liquid dispenser, this can also be unscrewed in case of blockages or for refilling purposes. The Dove blue floaty writing is branded across the front, with Beauty Cream Wash and the slogan - indulgently caring and moistening also written on. There is also a simple picture of some silky lotion. The bottle holds 250 ml of hand wash and retails at £2.20 full price. This is a liquid hand wash and is dispensed by simply pressing the blue pump on the top of the bottle and a nice dollop of the soap comes out onto your hand. The soap is a creamy white colour that has quite a matt effect to it. It is a good consistency being quite thick so you do not have the problem of it slipping straight off of your hands once you start to lather it. With a dash of water you rub the soap between your hands and it immediately builds up a nice foamy lather without too much effort. The hand wash contains a quarter active moisturising cream and a skin pH-neutral formulation in its ingredients, which means that it is very mild on your skin. The cream has a fresh linen like fragrance to it, nothing harsh or strong to match its light qualities. You can actually feel the cream wash moisturising your hands as you wash them, it is very delicate and soft. The pH balancing properties means that it should not irritate your skin and I can vouch for this, although I do not have particularly sensitive skin anyway. After washing your hands feel smooth and silky which is rather pleasant. One drawback with this hand wash is that it does not have any antibacterial ingredients, it is a silky soft hand wash rather than a full on germ exterminator. So if you want a hand wash for these reasons then this product is not for you.
I bought this hand wash some time ago because it is a brand that I absolutely love and buy on a regular basis. I had just finished using a different fragrance in the same brand. This brands is very well known and been around for quite some time and reliable, also one of which I love a lot. This wash comes in a very sturdy plastic bottle with a pump dispenser, it only cost £1 from Tesco on special offer for a 250ml bottle when I bought it some time ago and so a good price for a well known brand and one that is so reliable too. It was almost half the original price and so I just could not pass it by and not buy it. The bottle is white and it has the name clear on the front of the bottle. This one is an attractive bottle in my opinion and looks lovely in the bathroom. The liquid is an extremely rich one and the texture is so beautifully smooth and soft to the touch. It is an amazingly good liquid and a fabulous quality. It is excellent value for the price even at the usual price in my opinion. The liquid once placed onto the hands is beautifully soft. I can feel the added moisturiser on my hands as I am washing them. The liquid softens my hands just the way I love them to be softened. The wash glides across my hands so beautifully it is just a joy to use this particular hand wash. I find it does not irritate my skin and it does not dry my skin as some other brands tend to do, this one really does have the right amount of moisturiser included and one that leaves my skin feeling lovely. I find it lathers really well indeed and it is so easy to rinse from the hands too. It has such a beautiful smell to it and one that is a really nice perfume fragrance. The fragrance is left on the hands after I have dried them and my hands feel soft to the touch for some time after they have been dried. Just how I like my hands to feel, they do not feel all rough and taut. They are subtle and perfectly smooth. It contains ¼ moisturising cream and this amount is just the right amount to create a nice soft, textured skin after use. Dove are a brand that I think give the correct amount of added moisturiser in their products and they certainly have got it right with this hand wash. It does not drip from the bottle at all, it does not leave a mess all over the bathroom sink as the last brand I used recently, this one is so rich it stays on the hands until I gently rub it between my fingers etc. Only a small amount is needed with this one because of the richness of the liquid and so a little really does go a very long way and it lasts for quite some time. Just one quick pump onto the hands and I find this is enough to create the right amount of liquid to wash my hands. I just think this one is worth the price, it is one I have bought many times before and one that is suitable for all the family. It is affordable for most budgets and especially on special offer. It is so smooth it suits my little grandson's delicate skin perfectly, he also has had no irritations while using it recently at my home and it suits him well too. This also suits my hubby's hands, he has much rougher skin and dry patches and it helps to soften his skin a little bit more. Although he does not mind which hand wash he uses as long as it cleans well but he does like this one too and so for that reason I think it is also suitable for a man who may live on his own and not one that is just for a female as some men may expect it to be designed for just a female. This is highly recommended as I think it is a give away price for the outstanding quality it has for the skin. It is one that I will continue to buy in the future because it gives me all that I expect from a hand wash and one that is worth every penny in my opinion. A beautiful hand wash with a gorgeous fragrance. Look out for this one on special offer. Also on Ciao under my username Pinky50. I give it 5 stars. Thank you for reading my review.
My hands are always getting dry during the winter so I needed a good handwash. Whilst in my local supermarket I saw this handwash and I immediately knew I was going to love it as dove is a brand I know and trust and their products smell AMAZING. Yes It was a bit more expensive than some of the other hand washes but this one blows all the others out out of the water. The packaging is simple white and sleek and has a nice clean feel to it. I like the big blue pump as it is very convieniant. Open dispensing the product onto my hands I immediately noticed how thick and creamy the handwash felt and I immediatly felt like I was in heaven. It was very nice. The handwash made an okay lather. I wouldnt say it was fantastic but not at all awful. Creamy handwashes are harder to lather up due to the thick consistency of the product. However dont let this put you off! After washing it off I noticed the amazing smell. I cant really describe it but if you have used dove products before it smelt like that. Nice and fresh I loved it. My hands also felt amazingly soft and very clean and the smell lasted for a really long time aswell! Overall I would deffinately recommended this product if you want soft beautiful hands.
As someone who suffers a lot in the winter with dry, cracked hands I often myself looking for anything that will help or prevent my problem. I cook a lot and so tend to wash my hands many times each day, which can lead to dry skin particularly on my knuckles. I have tried lot's of different products, some prescribed from the doctor, others have been more of a beauty buy. Few have helped and some have even made the problem worse. I first tried this product at a friends home. My hands were a little sore and red and I was quite hesitant about trying it in case in stung as some products can. I had to wash my hands in something though and thought this was bound to be better than washing up liquid. The cream wash is very similar to a shower cream. It comes in a pump dispenser and one pump is more than enough for both hands (I sometimes don't even use that). It is white in colour and just has a very clean and fresh fragrance to it. When you use this it doesn't lather up as much as some hand washes but I've found that this is fairly normal with the creamy textured products. Once you've rubbed it into the hands and washed it off your hands feel clean and are left with a moisturised feeling, but not at all greasy - which for me is fantastic as I can't bear the way some products leave your hands feeling greasy or sticky. I have been using this for quite a while now and although it doesn't always prevent my hands from becoming sore, it does seem to happen a lot less often and it doesn't sting at all when they are feeling sore, which is unusual.
At my flat we always seem to be running out of 2 things-toilet paper and hand wash. As a result, every time I step into Boots or Superdrug I buy which ever hand wash is on offer. I recently spotted this on offer at Boots and did not hesitate to buy it because Dove is a brand I trust and I regularly use Dove products although I have never used this hand wash before. Packaging The hand wash comes in very standard Dove packaging in my opinion-the hand wash comes in a white plastic bottle with a blue pump action dispenser. The dispenser is a little hard to press which is a good thing because you only need about half a pump to wash your hands and this way you don't waste any hand wash. My only complaint about the packaging is that you can't see how much hand wash you have left since the bottle is not clear. The hand wash In my opinion the hand wash is exactly like a Dove soap bar, except in liquid form. The hand wash is very creamy and white in colour, it lathers really well and you only need a tiny amount (half a pump as I mentioned earlier) to wash your hands. I can't really describe the scent but it smells clean and fresh and exactly like the Dove soap bar. The hand wash leaves my hands feeling clean and moisturised. My hands haven't felt dry the entire time I have used this hand wash even though I often use it 3-4 times a day. Also, as you only need a very small amount, the bottle will last longer than other bottles of the same size. Price and Availability This hand wash is available at most supermarkets and pharmacies. I bought mine from Boots where it is currently on offer for £1. The normal retail price is around the £2 mark and it is currently available at Superdrug for £2.03. Final Word I definitely recommend this hand wash as it cleans well and is moisturising. I wouldn't buy it at full price but that's only because I always buy whatever hand wash is on offer. I would definitely buy this again if I saw in on offer though. This review may appear on other sites under the same username.
Until last Christmas I never used any dove products until I got a dove gift set from my gran! Since then its one of the main brands used in my house - I used to buy alot of expensive beauty products but now I am very happy to use mainly Dove, I also registered on the Dove website to be the first to try new & sample products! Recently I bought this product for only a £1.00 in Semi Chem for 250mls (as a matter of fact I bought three at that price) and put the others buy for when I run out - this product usually costs me £2.99 in my local chemist. Its worth it - it smells exactly the same as the soap & body wash etc, lovely & fresh - I wouldnt say its a girly product as my fiance uses it too! I dont have dry hands but 1/4 moiturising has to be better than none! - However in the snow & cold weather this week my hands have gone quite dry for the first time and I notice after using this product it certainly helps them, after using this product the fragrance is noticeable on my hands for quite some time, I recommend this product.
One of the interesting things about living with four other people is seeing what people choose to buy when its their turn to buy communal things. Well, when it comes to cleaning products or toilet paper I can't say that I have any particular interest, but I am always interested to see which handwash will appear next in the bathroom when one has ran out. Despite the fact that we already had an Essential Waitrose liquid soap in one bathroom (my choice, might I add), a bottle of Dove Cream Wash found its way into the same bathroom a couple of weeks ago. I've been alternating between this and the one that I bought in order to compare for a few weeks, and now I feel that I'm ready to give my opinion on this Dove Cream Wash. Despite the name being fairly ambiguous, this is most certainly a handwash, and the packaging is the shape of any other liquid soap that you will find, though obviously it has the Dove logo and the name of this product on it. The dispenser is easy to use and a suitable amout of soap comes out if you press the pump down once or twice. On using this cream wash, I found that it lathers up reasonably well when applied to wet hands and it is easy to wash off. I am not usually prone to dry hands but my hands still do feel more moisturised and soft to the touch after using it, which is no doubt down to the fact that it consists of ¼ moisturising cream. It certainly makes my hands feel nicer than my Waitrose liquid soap, which has no moisturising claims whatsoever, anyway. When it comes out of the dispenser, the cream wash is very thick, white and creamy looking and the lather it creates is thick and it looks nice, and although appearance doesn't necessarily count for much with a handwash, it is nice to have something attractive rather than something not, I find. The scent of this handwash is that of any other Dove product, which, to me, smells subtly of a nice, gentle perfume, although it is in no way an overly feminine smell and would suit men as well. The scent doesn't really linger though, and I can only really smell it if I purposely smell my hands, but still it's nice to know that they do smell nice rather than of something nasty. In conclusion, I do really like this handwash and am glad that someone in my flat decided to purchase it. I'm going back home to my parents' house for the summer and have no really say in handwash decision making, but would be quite happy if my parents happened to buy this one. If not, maybe I'll buy it when I get back to the UK in mid 2011. If you are interested in buying it, it's available at supermarkets and at Boots, I believe, and from looking around online it's available for around £2.00-£2.50, which is a fair price for something nice.
I have yet to try any Dove products that I've been disappointed with as they always work in conjunction with my skin perfectly. As a rule I buy antibacterial soaps for our bathroom but when I saw this Dove Beauty Cream Wash whilst shopping recently I decided to try it. Price and packaging~ The cream wash comes housed in an upright standing, oval shape plastic bottle. There is a pump dispenser sitting on top, and the bottle is predominantly white with dark blue lettering - the trademark original Dove brand colours. I've seen this in shops priced just under £2, but this was a mere £1 in Iceland recently and for a 250ml size bottle I took that to be quite reasonable. Using the soap - sorry beauty cream handwash~ After twisting the pump dispenser into the 'on' position, I pressed the nozzle gently down until a small amount of the soap dispensed onto my hand. There is that shower fresh 'clean' scent with this (as with all Dove original products) and apart from stating it smells clean there is little else to say. If you have used any of their other products in the same range then you will know exactly what I mean! The consistency of the soap (yes I'm calling it soap from now on okay?) is rich and creamy, and feels too luxurious to be just designated to being used as a common old handwash. After deciding that it's too nice to be left for just hands I opted to use this as a shower cream to see what results it would leave. My experience~ I used this in the same way as a normal shower gel/cream and it gave excellent results. It's no different to a shower cream and the fact that it doubles up as two products is a bonus. It left my skin feeling clean and very soft all over which as it's made with one quarter moisturising cream that wasn't a huge surprise. As a handwash it certainly does the trick. A small pea sized blob is quite sufficient to clean the hands thoroughly and after rinsing they were left super soft and moisturised. Miscellaneous~ *Contains 1/4 moisturising milk *Mild so can even be used on the facial area *PH balanced *Made by Unilever *For more information contact www.dove.com Conclusion~ I wasn't expecting to be let down by this product as I did have high expectations to start with and they certainly exceeded them all. This is a fantastic product that can be either left alone to do it's job as a simple handwash; or can be used all over the body including on your face and won't dry your skin. This is highly recommended by me and I will definitely be buying this again regardless of if it's on offer or not.
Recently, Dove cream wash were mostly on offer on different supermarket which gave me an idea to review this lovely hand cream wash. I'm a fan of liquid handwash because I think it's more hygienic rather than soap which hang around our sink. So I'm not surprised that some handwash added strong formula to fight germs, as a result makes our skin dry. So when Dove introduced the new cream wash, I was a bit excited to tried them. Dove is well known from it's famous brand and scent, and for me it's definitely worth a try. CREAM WASH Dove cream wash delicately cleanses our hands and help protects our skin against dryness while washing. It contains 1/4 active moisturising cream similar to those found in healthy neutral cleansing ingredients which help to preserve the skin's natural balance. It will leave your skin feeling soft and smooth, so mild that you can even use it on your face. PACKAGING It's a white plastic bottle with a blue nozzle(250ml). It has a "Dove Beauty Cream Wash written in large blue letters, and a golden dove on the front. They also indicated that it's " indulgently caring and moisturising" " healthy and protected hands". Overall, It looks simple and refreshing. INGRIDIENTS Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Allantoin, Sodium Lactate, TEA-Lactate, Serine, Lactic Acid, Urea, Sorbitol, Acrylates Copolymer, Isopropyl Palmitate, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Parfum, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool. So these makes a lovely creamwash which is a unilever brand. PRICE Tesco £1.84 but currently offer 2 for 1 until 1/12/09 Asda £1 Sainsbury £1.84 Sounds reasonable to grab extra while they're on offer. EXPERIENCE The pump dispenser is quite firm to press and produce a substanstial amount of soap which makes it last longer. While running my hands under the water, the soap feels creamy. It foams up with lots of bubbles, you can feel that it's quite smooth and soft whilst the hands are under the water. After drying my hands feel softer and smoother with a light fresh scent. CONCLUSION Using this product makes my hands feel clean and fresh. It's very gentle to my skin which suits me since I also have a very dry skin. There are times that I used it on my face when I ran out of my scrub. I'm not worried because I'm aware how gentle it was, even If I did'nt get any side effect or rashes I'd rather use it as my handwash. As we all know, Dove range has expanded significantly over the years as well as the variety of scent they produce but I prefered the version for this hand cream wash. I think these scent characterises them from other brand. It's a nice product to use and it does keep your hands hydrated but I hope next time they will include an antibacterial properties to make my ideal handwash complete. Thank you for reading ;-D
I love liquid hand wash, which I think is much more hygenic that having a bar of soap hanging around to wash your hands with. I also love the brand "Dove" and so it should be no surprise that the Dove cream handwash is something that I wouldn't be without. This cream handwash is like every other Dove product and has the familiar "Dove" scent which is distinctive of all their products. I love this scent as it makes me feel clean and fresh. The product itself is also labelled to show it can be used for facial cleansing and I have done this, and it doesn't leave your skin feeling taut like other facial washes can do. Dove have been around since the late 1950s but I really became aware of them in late eighties, when we always had their "beauty bar" soap at home. The Dove range has expanded significantly over the years and includes bath and shower products, hair products, and deodorants The Dove Cream Wash comes in a white 250ml plastic container with a blue nozzle, and is subtle enough to blend in with any decor. But, as the Dove range seems to expand constantly there may well be other varients of Dove cream wash by the time you read this. The Dove cream wash isn't just used by me, it is also used by my husband and children. Dove contains one quarter moisturising cream, and is pH neutral and so is safe for the whole family. Pricewise, Dove cream wash is usually somewhere around the £1.90 mark, but it varies from store to store. This is a product to keep your eye on because it's often on "buy one get one free" offers, or sometimes "three for two". I wholeheartedly recommend this to cleanse your hands (and face if required) and leave them soft and smooth, and its great for the whole family.
I love this hand wash so much. Dove is a brilliant brand for shower and body washes, deodorants and soaps. I own many dove products and have been very pleased with every one. This soap is no exception. I can't remember the price i paid but it was a good price and very worth it. It has a simple push pump to pump out the soap. This turns about 90 degrees to open it and back 90 to close it. When you push the pump a generous amount of soap comes out but not too much that it wastes it. It smells to nice and fresh and clean. I loved the smell. The soap is really nice and silky, it is a golden colour. When you rub your hands together it produced a soft lather. It is so nice to use, so soft and creamy. After you wash the soap from your hands they feel so soft and moisturised. It is such a great soap. Like all Dove products it is a fantastic product worth every penny you pay. I definitely recommend it.
Dove is like my favourite product to use on my skin as you may have noticed from other reviews I have written. I always sued the bar soap and found it to be so gentle on my skin and the smell is so unique and charaterises the brand 'dove' I love it. This soap is just a diferent form of the bar so i thought I would try it. Its much more convenient than soap bar as its nt as messy and seems to last longer as you only need a small amount in the plam of your hands to cover your whole body. The feel on your skin is smooth and gentle and it doesnt dry your skin out at all as its madeform 1/4 moisturising cream and so skin doesnt feel like it has been washed by soap. You can smell the soap on your skin afterwards too anf it mkaes you smell lovely and fresh and skin feels like it as been plastered with rich cream and left to abosrb into the skin, I love it.
When it comes to cleansing, Dove is always going to be my first choice. Containing ¼ moisturising cream, and with a pH neutral formulation - Dove always makes for a satisfying soap experience. If you've ever used a Dove product you will know the pleasant scent which characterises and in fact distinguishes their products - a scent I myself am extremely fond of. Dove as a company started in 1957, with its first product a soap for those with dry and sensitive skin. Dove's production line has continued to grow and expand over the years and now includes such products as anti-perspirants/deodorants, body washes, lotions, beauty bars, hair care, and facial care products. The Dove brand name is currently owned by Unilever and is manufactured in Germany, Brazil, and Hammond in the USA. The product I shall be talking about is the Dove Cream Wash, a liquid soap formulation for 'Healthy & Protected hands'. - The Packaging - Dove Cream Wash is encapsulated in a white container with a stylish blue dispensing nozzle. Emblazoned across the front is the 'Dove' branding and the inevitable abstract symbol of the dove, in this instance coming in a pleasant gold shading (the colour of which can vary from product to product). Bottle size here is a reasonable 250ml, with a sticker on the front of the bottle handily stating that this product is 'Also suitable for Face Cleansing'. At roughly 3 inches wide, 2 inches deep, and 6 and a half inches tall, the bottle is unobtrusive and is the perfect size for slotting comfortably on top of the bathroom sink. - The Fragrance - The scent of the Cream Wash is hard to define, so what I shall say of the matter is that the smell is subtly pleasant and fresh. The smell of Dove Cream Wash epitomises cleanliness, however little more can really be said. - The Feel and Texture - The quality of Dove Cream Wash is showcased in the consistency of the liquid. Whereas a typical characterisation of liquid soap is that of a runny and somewhat gloopy formula, this particular product is far more consistent and when you squeeze the soap from the nozzle to your hand, you need not worry about the soap running off your hand as where it is squeezed is roughly where it stays. The soap is silky smooth, feeling luxuriously lacy in the palm of your hand and causing no irritation as rubbed delicately between the fingers. - Price - The price of the product can vary from store to store, with a half price offer at Boots currently placing the product at a respectable 86 pence. The standard Boots price is £1.73, which itself is fairly satisfactory - however at its current price Dove Cream Wash is a must have. My suggestion when purchasing this product is to look around in as many places as possible, as more than likely you will find it on offer somewhere. - Ingredients - As taken from the back of the product, the ingredients in Dove Cream Wash are as follows: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Glycerin, Sodium Chloride, Allantoin, Sodium Lactate, TEA-Lactate, Serine, Lactic Acid, Urea, Sorbitol, Acrylates Copolymer, Isopropyl Palmitate, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Parfum, Sodium Citrate, Citric Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Benzyl Salicylate, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Coumarin, Eugenol, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Linalool. - Final Thoughts - I will wholeheartedly recommend this product to anyone. At its current price especially, there is no better liquid soap out there on the market in my humble opinion. With its stylish packaging, silky feel, and fresh scent, Dove Cream Wash is the obvious choice of liquid soap. My one qualm with the product however would have to be that of the dispensing nozzle. Although I had no problems with using the dispensing nozzle itself and found it easy to press down, dispensing an adequate amount of soap into the hand - in order to get the soap to dispense, the nozzle must first be turned from its initial sideways facing position forward. When sideways facing, the nozzle is in a locked position, however when forward facing you can freely dispense the soap as the dispenser thus becomes unlocked. I feel that this could have done with having been labelled as for those heavy handed individuals such as myself - the dispensing nozzle could easily be broken through attempting to push down the lever without having first faced the nozzle forward. Having always had trouble finding products that suit my needs due to my sensitive skin, Dove products always do the trick, and with its pH neutral balance; Dove Cream Wash is no exception. Whether you're looking to wash your hands, or face - Dove Cream Wash is the perfect solution to meet your needs and requirements, and is strong evidence to suggest as to why Dove has grown to become one of the world's largest cleansing brands. ==================================================== Dove Website: www.dove.co.uk Unilever Website: www.unilever.com Free Phone Customer Care Line Number: 0800 0851548 ====================================================
Dove is a very well known brand; in fact it's the world's top selling cleansing brand, that's come a long way from its beginnings in 1957, when the brands only product was a soap bar that was kinder and more sensitive on skin - a product they still sell today. In recent years, they've pushed out a whole new range of products, along with a very popular advertising campaign - The Campaign for Real Beauty, which incorporates Doves 'Self Esteem Fund' There's no arguing with the fact that the Campaign for Real Beauty was a genius marketing move - ad's with the taglines 'Real Women have Real Curves ' tap into women's insecurities (we all have them!) and enable us to feel the brand identifies with us, and have boosted the brands popularity among women no end. Dove Cream Wash is a liquid version of the original soap bar - it still contains ¼ moisturizing cream, and PH neutral ingredients. There are four varieties of this soap - Original, Silk, Fresh Touch, and Odour Neutralising. For the purposes of this review, I am focusing on the Odour Neutralising version. The reason I use this particular version is that I like to cook a lot - often with ingredient's such as Onion, Garlic, Rosemary, and Basil that have strong and distinctive odour's that tend to linger for some time on my skin. The bottle is a light creamy yellow colour, with the distinctive Dove symbol in silver beneath the word 'Dove' written in italic blue letters. Also contained on the bottle are the words 'Skin purifying cream wash' and on the rear are the ingredients listings, company address, how the cream works, and all the other stuff usually found on such products. The bottle contains 250ml of the product, and has a press down dispensing spout in the same colour as the bottle. Upon depressing the spout, a small amount of the soap is dispensed onto your palm, and the soap has a creamy thick texture, light in colour with a slightly opalesque sheen. Although only a small amount is dispensed, you really don't need to use a huge amount. It lathers up very easily into a rich foam, and while lathering the smell seems to grown stronger - it's not a definable smell in as much as I couldn't claim to compare it to a flower, but it's a clean, fresh sort of smell, and really rather pleasant . Lathering it into my hands, I could see the obvious grime being cleaned off very quickly and easily, and the cream felt very gentle on my skin. The soap rinses off very easily, and leaves hands with a very mild, gentle soapy smell. Of course, the key test was whether or not it would work after I'd been doing something smelly with my hands- after all, I tend to like a glass of wine when I'm cooking, and drinking wine after chopping garlic often disturbs the whole wine drinking experience. I have used this on garlic and onion covered hands, and have found that while it reduces the odour significantly, it does not entirely remove it, but it certainly works better than many other products. My hands were also soft after washing, and I have actually noticed some improvement in the skin texture of my hands after 6 months of usage. My hands did tend to be very chapped and red due to a lot of housework and exposure to household cleaning products, but this soap seems to have had something of a soothing effect and my hands are less red, and a lot less dry than they used to be. I won't list the ingredients in this review, as there are rather a lot of them, and I'm sure it's all very boring. However, if you do wish to read up on the ingredients, perhaps because of allergies, the Dove website has a list of all their products, with ingredients. I highly recommend this product as suitable for everyday use for handwashing - it keeps the skin moist, cleans effectively, and goes a long way towards removing stinky odour's, although particularly strong smells, such as the aforementioned garlic and onion do tend to linger a little longer- for which I will remove 1 star. For baths, I still prefer to use my exfoliating shower gels and such, but I do feel this product would perform admirably as an all over soap also. At around £1.70 from most major supermarkets, it's pretty reasonable for the money, as a bottle does last a fair while, since you only need a tiny amount. I find one bottle generally lasts me around a month . For more information on Dove products, the ingredients, or the Campaign for Real Beauty /Self Esteem Fund, visit www.dove.co.uk. No more messy bars of soap and Dove will not dry out your skin like soap can /
