Generally speaking, I love to use Dove products - I have been using them now for years and also, as a fan of liquid soaps I didn't think I could go far wrong with this one from Dove called Fresh Touch with essence of cucumber and green tea. I am still sitting on the fence, if I am honest, as far as the fragrance goes. It is a lot different to what I had been expecting - I had expected that wonderful fresh (and familiar) Dove aroma, but this one definitely is a smell that you either love or hate.
IN terms of its ability to wash hands and everything else, I really cannot fault it. It lathers up well, the dispenser on the top of the bottle works perfectly and pumps out just the right amount each time. It rinses off my hands well and leaves behind no nasty sticky residue and it does not dry out my hands or lave them feeling like they need a covering of hand cream.
It is really just the fragrance of this liquid soap that I am still not too sure about I bough this one from Home Bargains for only 99p and I must admit I have not seen it in the shops before so possibly Dove realised it wasn't going to be a big seller and they decided to stop making it.
Either way, I don't think I will be buying another one of these as the smell is just a little bit too odd for my liking.
As much as I love the DOVE range, and as much as it pains me to do so. I have to give this only three hearts.
The quality of this product is faultless. The cream is the high standard that DOVE delivers. It is rich and thick in consistency and you only need a small amount to work into a lather that foams up really well.
This is great for dry skin and when used regularly there is a noticeable difference in the hydration and texture of your skin.
The reason I gave this only three hearts was based on the scent. Fickle I know. But I really didn't like it.
The two scents are GREEN TEA and CUCUMBER.
When purchasing products I tend to go for those with cucumber for the benefits and for the fact it is wonderfully cooling for the skin.
The green tea I did have reservations about simply because apart from drinking it, it doesn't sit well in any other format for me, products or cream wise but this is DOVE and the scent didn't smell too bad in the store.
When I got this home I used this in the bathroom and found the scent to weird. I can't explain it, but it just didn't seem like a DOVE product to me. I'm quite fond of other scents in this range and would recommend others but not this.
In terms of skin results, faultless and that's what is so difficult to score.
This as usual is reasonably priced, in BOOTS its normally £1 x
Dove Go Fresh is a range of hand wash products made by Dove for use in the bathroom. Their main selling point is apparently the creaminess and refreshing sensation on your skin after use.
This particular item is scented, apparently, with cucumber and green tea extracts although you would never really know it. The scent is quite fresh and pleasant but not really of the things it's supposed to be. The gel itself is an odd and very synthetic looking shiny green. It doesn't look as though a single natural ingredient has gone into this product and judging by the list of ingredients on the back... It hasn't. Not that this is their claim mind.
In terms of moisturising quality it's very good and leaves your hands very soft and it also fulfils it's creamy promise in the consistency of the gel. The refreshment for your skin boast also seems to work more than other products, again probably due to the creamy quality of it. The gel is quite thick so you only need a little amount to wash properly meaning it lasts quite a long time.
The packaging is fairly simple but pleasant. It has a soft and gentle feel to it both in it's use of subtle, almost pastel colours and also light and airy typography. In the middle is a calming picture of a splashing cucumber and green tea leaf to differentiate this product from others in the range. The overall colour feel is green and this is present throughout. The container itself continues the theme with it's curved, almost oval shape and white in colour with a green dispenser on the top. The design of the dispenser is functional and works very well. It has a slow action meaning it's easy to dispense small amounts so you don't have too much wastage. It does not leak and didn't break... In fact we have reused it for another purpose and it is still going strong.
The contents is 250ml which is standard size for a hand wash and cost us £1.00 at a reduced 'on offer' price in Sainsbury's.
In all, this is an excellent hand wash despite re fact it's not very natural. The scent is actually quite refreshing and pleasant compared to most in a similar price range so definitely worth a purchase
Dove is a brand by Unilever and it's products are sold in more than 35 countries and have products for both men and women. They have a lot of different products available and in these are handwashes which I will be reviewing.
Dove Fresh Touch Liquid Handwash
I have always purchased handwashes and I am not loyal to any particular brand and usually opt for what is on offer, but since getting a bearded dragon I do make sure there is always handwash available, although I have recently purchased the Dettol no touch thingy I do still have half a bottle of this to get through!
This particular handwash is by Dove and is scented with cucumber and green tea, it contains 1/4 moisturising cream and is a delicate formula that gently cleans your hands leaving them soft and fresh.
It usually retails at the £2 mark but can be found on offer.
As a family we all use this handwash, my 8 year old has eczema on his hands which means that I have to be quite wary of what products I purchase, but he uses this on a regular basis throughout the day with no bad effect to his condition. In fact I feel his hands are somewhat helped as they don't get as dry and cracked as they would with regular soap.
The scent of this handwash lingers on my hands for ages after use and seeing as the scent is fresh and clean that isn't a bad thing!
After using the the Dove go fresh cucumber and green tea scented roll on deodorant when I saw this product I knew it was a must. For just £2 you're getting not only a 250ml bottle of liquid creamy hand wash but this can also be used on your face.
The design of the bottle is pretty plain and smooth. The pump unscrews very easily with its twist mechanism. The actual pump itself has a good firmness to it, one pump requires a little push but nothing too over powering. One squirt the size of a 10p is more than enough, it lathers up beautifully and the aroma is gorgeous.
Personal hygiene for me is a big thing, I like my hands to feel nicely cleaned and when using this product I feel very satisfied afterwards. The fresh cucumber scent lingers for a while, seeing as I love the smell so much I sometimes find myself washing my hands just for the sake of it.
When using this product on both my hands and face I find it leaves them feeling silky soft and very smooth. I was a little unsure about using it on my face at first but after testing a little bit on my cheek I was very pleased with the way it made my skin feel. I now use it almost every day to wash my face with the only slight problem is if I get a bit in my eyes they do tend to sting slightly, although this is very common with many soaps.
A 250ml bottle lasts quite a while, if I'm using it only as a hand wash then it lasts me just over a month. However if I'm using it on my face as well as my hands then it usually lasts around 2 to 3 weeks, I still think this is a good amount of time considering what I'm using it for.
Dove Fresh Touch Handwash
Description: Brand: Dove / Type: Hand Wash / Dove soap is formulated to be pH neutral, with a pH that is usually between 6.5 and 7.5.
As with Dove soap, their handwash is designed to have a neutral pH which basically means that it is kinder to skin. I have sensitive skin which can become red and irritated with some scented products so always try to buy products which are gentle.
I paid £1 for this which was a special offer in my local Morrisons. I hadn't tried it before but will certainly be buying it again, even at full price. You can pick it up in most supermarkets and chemists.
It comes in a mint green coloured plastic bottle with a pump liquid dispenser nozzle which makes it easy and convenient to use. This fragrance is cucumber and green tea.
The product itself is a very light green colour with a milky and creamy consistency. The fragrance is light and very fresh and when you rub your hands, it lathers up really well. It is quite thick so you only need to use a little to get plenty of lather which feels quite luxurious.
I could still smell this on my hands 20 minutes after washing, which was really nice. My hands felt clean and soft and there was certainly no hint of irritation. In fact, it left my skin feeling quite moisturised.
A resounding 5 stars from me for this product - I am a big fan of Dove and it seems that the more of their products I try, the more I like.
Even if you don't have sensitive skin, it still makes sense to use something kind and gentle and this product is definitely that, a great all rounder for all the family.
The dove fresh touch smells gorgeous and is a delight to use. The bottle remains standing on my sink side unlike several other handwash bottles I have used. I usually buy this when it is on offer of buy one get one free from a well know supermarket but even when it is not on offer it still offers good value for money. It is not drying like others I have used and much more hygenic to use than having soap in the cloakroom. It has a fresh scent and is kind to hands. Children love to use it and as it is so easy to use they are encouraged to wash their hands without being nagged to do it! We have used this in the children's nursery I work at and again the young children there find it easy to use and it is very economical for family or work use
What is it
I purchased this Dove Fresh Touch beauty cream hand wash from my local Morrisons for the princely sum of £1. I was quite delighted and presumed that it must have been on a special offer. I do not unfortunately know the normal retail price of this item. I was attracted to it as it was a mint green colour and I know it sounds a bit odd however I like my items to match so hence the green loo roll as well!! I know possibly a little sad. The product did stand out on the shelf as it was larger than most of the other items available a major deciding factor in my purchase decision because as a family we tend to go through hand wash extremely quickly. Usually due to my six year olds obsession with washing his hands at least twenty times a day. I think this is more related to the playing with water factor than the actual hygiene issues. In addition the deciding factor for my purchase was that it contained moisturiser, as I tend to get dry hands from hospital hibi scrub I decided to give this a try.
The product comes in a pleasantly shaped mint green bottle. It has a pump action nozzle for easy dispersal, The wording on the front states that it is Dove go fresh fresh touch beauty cream wash. Which contains cucumber and green tea fragrance, containing a quarter moisturising cream. The bottle also has a red sticker on the front which states that this is a new product. There is also a small picture of a silver dove on the front. It is made by Unilever.
The liquid is a light green colour and has the same consistency as shampoo. According to the manufacturer it combines active moisturising cream with the crisp, clean fragrance of cucumber and green tea which makes the hands feel fresh and clean. The product apparently can be used as a facial cleanser too although I must admit I haven't tried it in this way. Strictly hand wash only for me. If using it in this way there is a warning which suggests avoiding contact with the eyes as it may irritate. However if contact occurs rinse with warm water, so pretty self-explanatory really.
It smells absolutely wonderful and lathers very well. Leaving the hands softer and feeling extremely clean and refreshed. The pump dispenser is easy to use not stiff and hard to press down like some similar products I have tried in the past. It is also drip resistant so no messy puddles are left on the bathroom sink after use.
I can honestly say that I have found absolutely no disadvantages with this product at all which I have to say has surprised me. Perhaps if I actually new the retail price of this item then this may change.
Five stars and I would definitely recommend this product to all.
I don't usually suffer much from dry skin, since in general my skin is very oily, however, my hands are often prone to dryness during the winter months. They are also very sensitive, and I have had to avoid using the tesco own liquid soaps that we have in school due to the fact that they leave the back of my hands itchy and red. This dove fresh touch cream handwash does not however cause any such problems.
I have always stuck to dove soap products before simply because they have never irritated me or my husband, and always left my skin feeling very clean. I had however never used dove's liquid soap before, having bought the soap bar, out of habit, but due to an offer in Tesco (2 for £1.50 I think- with each bottle holding 250ml) I thought we'd have a try at the liquid handwash instead.
From the start, I loved both the colour of the packaging and the shape. The light pearly green colour matches the fresh cucumber and green tea fragrance that the product claims to include. Like other dove products, this soap includes 1/4 mositurising cream, and you can certainly feel it after washing.
The soap itself lathers very easily, without you having to use a lot, so seems to be good value for money. What I liked the most about the product was the beautiful smell it left on your hands after using it. It is such a fresh clean smell, that it would make you want to wash your hands just for the sake of it. In fact, a friend who had visited recently even commented on the the fresh smell of her hands after using it.
As I said, the added bonus of 1/4 moisturising cream certainly made my hands feel smooth and soft afterwards and didn't dry them out like other hand soaps can.
According to the back of the product, this cream wash can also be used as a facial cleanser, although I have not tried this as yet. However, if it leaves my face as soft, smooth and clean as it left my hands, I would be very tempted to give it a go.
Overall, this is a product I would definitely buy again, especially when any promotion is on, and I have to say that I think it has converted me to using liquid soaps rather than a traditional soap bar, since it is probably much more hygienic and involves no real cleaning, always a plus for me!
Washing your hands and general hygeine is very important, so an easy to use soap that is effective and has a good dispenser is a must.
Dove Fresh Touch Handwash comes in a nice shaped bottle. The top twists around easily, unlike some which are a nightmare to get working. Dispensing the soap requires a firm push, otherwise the small amount that comes out just dribbles down the front of the bottle.
The soap itself is nice and creamy and a five pence sized drop lathers up quite nicely. This amount is more than adequate to wash your hands. There is no real distinct odour, though I have noticed that if I rinse my hands thoroughly and then rinse my mouth with plain water there is a little after-taste still present. The moisturising effect is not that great, though is does seem very gentle and causes no irritation or dryness. Quite good value when you can pick these up for under £1.
Dove soap is formulated to be pH neutral, with a pH that is usually between 6 / 5 and 7 / 5 /
