A nice little buy for me and my home!

One thing that I like to always have in my home is a bottle of handwash and I always have a bottle in my bathroom and one spare due to me having a kitten and 4 hamsters who I play with and so on and of course to simply wash my hands with when I have been to the loo and so on. I don't usually shop in Waitrose as I always believed until recently they were a bit overpriced but due to recently having been given a five pound voucher by them and mooching about trying to spend it I found the prices to be very fair really! With my five pound voucher to spend I decided to get some handwash and came across their 'Essentials' range which is like Smart Price from Asda and Tesco value stuff, maybe a few pence more but being as its Waitrose I decided to give this budget friendly range a go! This 300ml in size handwash costs at the moment £1.11 which I think is excellent value. It comes in a see through bottle with a plastic pump to use lever to the top of it which can switch to an on/off position which I think is really handy. On the front of the bottle we are clearly told what it is and who it is by then on the back of the bottle other information like the size and contact details for the manufacturer are given. I like being able to see the beigy coloured hand wash though the bottle too so I can see when I need to replace the handwash. Using It: You don't need to use very much of this handwash at all and I find that a pump per hand wash is enough for me. Its a great consistency not being too runny but not overly thick either and feels really smooth and luxurious and gentle when in use. This has a wonderful edible aroma of cinnamon buns to it, a little spicy, naturally sweet just gorgeous really and its a pleasure to use! This rinses off my hands nicely after lathering up a little and leaves my hands feeling very clean indeed and the fragrance lingers on my hands a good couple of hours too. This doesn't have any disinfecting capabilities so isn't a heavy duty handwash but for simply giving my hands a quick cleanse its great and it leaves my hands feeling really soft and supple too. This is a great product and brilliantly priced for a touch of luxury so well done Waitrose.....I will be nipping back to one of your stores if only to continue stocking up on this one from now on! Only available from Waitrose. This review is also posted on Ciao under this same username.

A nice Handwash at a reasonable price

Cinnamon Cakes handwash is part of the 'essential' Waitrose collection.  I have always found the  'essential' Waitrose products to be of really good quality, equivalent to the "normal" own-brand products in many of the other supermarkets. The Handwash The handwash is in a 300ml clear bottle with a push dispenser.  The Handwash itself is nice and thick and creamy in consistency, and also cream in colour.  It smells edible and really does smell like cinnamon cakes! I also use two of the other scents available in the collection, ginger and clementine and sweet plum and mimosa, both have a slightly more subtle aroma than the cinnamon cakes.  The other handwashes in the collection are: Green tea and apple Camomille and vanilla Olive and jojoba  Sea salt and kelp Green tea and apple Lemon blossom and amber When using the handwash it lathers nicely and makes my hands feel smooth soft and very clean after washing.  And, of course a scent of cinnamon cakes can be smelt on my hands after I have dried them, which I rather like. Price A bottle costs £1.11, but at the moment there is a deal on to get two for £2.  I think this is really good value, and as I have two sinks and two kids we get through quite a lot so buying two at a time is often required. Moans I have been using this handwash for quite a fee years now and over the past year or so noticed that the push dispenser has been getting rather stiff to use, especially when it is new.  I had one bottle which I could not get the dispenser to push down at all and in the end stopped it for the dispensers off the old bottle. All in All Great product, great price, but it loses one point for the dispenser issue as its quite frustrating trying to get it to work.

mmm - warm sweet and spicy cinnamon buns!

I've just recently bought this Cinnamon Cakes handwash from Waitrose, it's part of the 'essential' Waitrose toiletries collection. and there's an offer on at the moment whereby you get 2 of the products in the range for £2.00. The range includes handwashes, shower gels and bubble baths. I bought the Cinnamon Cakes handwash and the Sweet Plum & Mimosa handwash. I did have a little sniff of a few of the other products in the range and all of the ones that I smelt were lovely. This is the first time that I've used any of the products in the essential Waitrose toiletries collection, but it definitely won't be the last. The handwash is in a 300ml bottle, and if bought with another product in the range it costs just £1.00. The handwash is a luxurious thick creamy consistency, and it's a lovely creamy beige colour. It smells absolutely divine, good enough to eat basically! This smells just like delicious warm and spicy cinnamon buns straight from the oven. It's a sweet yet kind of spicy fragrance, sugary yet heady with cinnamon at the same time. This would make a perfect wintery, christmassy handwash as it's a really warming fragrance. This handwash leaves my hands feeling lovely and soft, and smelling absolutely divine, and the cinnamon cakes fragrance lingers on my hands for a little while after washing them. The pump on this handwash has been a little bit stiff, (and so has the pump on the sweet plum & mimosa handwash - maybe there's a design flaw in the pumps) and I have found that it is easy to knock the bottle over as the pump doesn't always depress properly. This is my only gripe with it though as the handwash itself is fine. One pump of the handwash is plenty to adequately wash my hands, it lathers up really well on my hands with just a small amount of water. It is really quite gentle and it doesn't dry out my hands like some hand washes can, even with constant daily use. This leaves my hands perfectly clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this handwash, and I'd certainly buy it again, however I think that I'd like to try some of the other handwashes in the range first. I think that I'll buy this one again as the winter starts to draw in. The other handwashes available were; chamomile & vanilla, olive & jojoba, sea salt & kelp, ginger & clementine, green tea & apple, and lemon blossom & amber. Along with the two that I purchased; the cinnamon cakes handwash, and the sweet plum & mimosa handwash.
