The Feel Good Fruits
handwash: Madarin, bergamot and cardamon variety
I bought a few of these from Tesco when they were on offer recently. I think I got 3 bottles for £2.50 so they were good price I felt. Each bottle contains 500ml.
Mandarin, bergamot and cardamon one is a soft orange colour in a sort of frosted plastic bottle with a clear push- down dispenser. It is a fairly ordinary looking product but not unattractive although I know there are smarter looking items if you pay the extra price. I certainly don't feel embarrassed having it in my bathroom as it doesn't look like a cheapie value brand.
On the front the hand wash is described as "zesty mandarin, uplifting bergamot amd stimulating cardamon". The only item pictured is the " zesty mandarin" but despite its zesty name the smell is far from zesty. Although mandarin is the strongest aroma of the three that I can smell but that is not saying much as I cannot detect even a hint of cardamon which is quite a strong smell and as for bergamot it is difficult to tell as that is a citrus smell that could work with the mandarin but it certainly isn't obvious. The smell is extremely mild so much so that if blind folded I might struggle to pick out what it smelled of. It a pleasant clean smell but not a strong mandarin smell at all. The smell doesn't linger at all on your hands not even a hint I would say. I do prefer my hand wash to have a bit of oomph in the smell area and this is very disappointing.
The hand wash is quite thick and once again I followed the directions on 'how to use' (For those who have never used a hand wash before- there are indeed directions on the back) and I found that indeed one squirt was enough to get a good lather for hand washing.
The claim on the front of the bottle is that this is a moisturising creme hand wash. It certainly is not a harsh product and it does leave my hands quite soft so I would suggest that it is quite moisturising though I have not abandoned using my hand cream just yet.
The bottle is quite chunky which means that you can push down quite quickly and not have the thing tip over. Some hand washes I have tried have narrower bottoms and this often ends up tipping over.
The pump dispenser is functional and easy to use and a decent amount comes out when pushed. My grandchildren have no trouble using this and they are aged three and five so it is definitely a product designed to function easily.
This is not the most exciting hand wash I have ever bought but it does the job and is functionally much nicer than bar soap which goes strange - hard and splits into cracks when not used often ( spare room ensuite) or soggy ( left in basin in down stairs loo used by grandchildren). This is the least interesting of the three products I bought in the offer as it has the least smell.
The other disadvantage apart from lack of smell that I found with this variety is that it is NOT anti bacterial and this is so useful in a hand wash. I do not keep this variety in my kitchen for this reason. My hand wash in the kitchen is always an anti-bacterial. one as I feel it is extra security when handling food to wash hands with something that is anti-bacterial first. So all in all this one I would not recommend as although it washes my hands it does not smell especially pleasant and is also not anti-bacterial either
An extremely mild (almost non existent) smelling mandarin , good value hand wash but not anti bacterial.
