I love hand wash products and always keep one in the bathroom and the kitchen and at the moment in my kitchen I have Imperial Leather Jasmine. ~The Product~ This is a liquid soap hand wash product that comes in a clear plastic bottle with a plastic dispensing lid. To dispense the soap you have to pump the dispenser two or three times and place your other hand underneath the spout bit to catch it. I tend to dispense around two or three blobs which I have found is more than enough to completely do both hands and the lower arm area. This hand wash is a lovely purple colour and once I have dispensed the product into my hands, I then add a bit of water from the tap to it which creates a lovely soapy lather in my hands. This is a really good quality hand wash as it thoroughly cleans your hands, whilst leaving the most delightful fragrance onto your hands. I have used a lot of these products over the years and I can honestly say this is the best smelling one I have ever tried. The scent from many hand washes will disappear within minutes of you washing your hands, but the scent seems to last forever with this one which is really lovely. Some cheaper hand wash products can leave your hands feeling quite dry, but again that isn't a problem you will get with this one. Not only did my hands smell really lovely, but they also felt extremely clean, but really soft too and not at all sticky from the soap. ~The Price~ The general price for this hand wash is about £1.99, but I brought it on offer for just £1.00, so I feel I got myself a little bit of a bargain here as Imperial Leather is a really good brand and I have been really impressed with this hand wash, so much so that I would happily purchase it in the future, even if I had to pay full price for it. ~Conclusion~ I have always liked Imperial Leather hand washes, but I think this one is my absolute favourite because of the smell. It leaves a lovely floral scent on your hands and leaves your hands really clean and soft too and so I feel very comfortable handling food etc after using this hand wash as I know my hands have been given a really thorough clean and so this hand wash comes with a big thumbs up from me.
INTRODUCTION As I've said in many reviews, I'm a big fan of Cussons' Imperial Leather shower gel range. As a special treat I bought myself some of their handwash recently on a toiletry-stocking-up expotition (sic) to my local Superdrug. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch Handwash comes in a 300ml pump bottle made of clear plastic. The bottle has quite a lot of 'give' in it, meaning that it doesn't feel as if it would shatter easily. This is rather useful because, as usual, I unwittingly gave the bottle an 'unexpected knocking off the shelf' test and it didn't split or break (thank goodness!). The pump mechanism is sturdy and sucks up product easily. I find just a couple of pumps dispenses an adequate amount of product for handwashing. A 300ml bottle is widely available in supermarkets and toiletry stores for around £1.50 but I often see it available on multibuy offer. The handwash itself is see-through and has a deep, purple colour. It's quite viscous, although perhaps not as thick as some handwashes I've tried over the years. The bottle discloses that it contains both jasmine and sweet violet. The latter would usually be too 'girly' and floral for me but I like the scent of violets so decided to purchase it to see what it was like. As with all handwashes I purchase, I made sure this one had antibacterial ingredients. Unusually, this product states that it contains 'natural' and 'gentle' antibacterial ingredients, which makes a nice change from the super-strong chemicals many similar products contain. USER EXPERIENCE I've been very pleased with this product. It pumps well and the handwash smells lovely, although I can detect neither jasmine or sweet violet in its aroma! Rather, to me, it smells of lavender! This may well be my weird and wonderful olfactory scent, but I honestly don't mind as I love the scent of lavender. Perhaps the purple colouring subsconsciously brings back memories of cultivating lavender in my old garden...I don't know, but it doesn't matter as the handwash smells lovely! I find that it lathers very well, releasing more of the (lavender!) scent, and washes off easily, not leaving any sticky residue behind. The scent lingers for a good while after drying my hands, and I've also noticed that my hands are softer and don't have as many dry patches. Admittedly, this could be due to the hot weather we're having at the moment, but I don't think this product has done any harm. CONCLUSION Despite the surprising smell, this is a great product and yet another of the Imperial Leather range I'm happy to recommend. I shall be purchasing this handwash again.
I bought this handwash for two reasons. Firstly, the colour matched the colour scheme in our bathroom, and secondly, it cost £1 for 300ml from Morrisons. Most £1 handwashes only contain 250ml so I felt a bit smug that I got a bit extra for my money. Every little helps, and as my mother says, if you look after the pennies the pounds look after themselves. The handwash is packaged in the usual plastic pump dispensing bottle, and the pump seems to work fine on this one. For general purposes, one pump's worth of handwash is adequate, but I'll pump it twice if my hands are particularly dirty for whatever reason. It lathers really well, although I've noticed since getting married and wearing rings on my finger, I don't go to as much effort to lather soap as I hate the feeling of anything getting underneath my jewellery, although this one creates a good lather with minimal effort. The best thing about this handwash is the smell. I wasn't sure what to expect from the fragrance "Jasmine touch", as I couldn't really pick out the smell of jasmine, but the best way to describe it would be by saying it smells like you've run a bath with Radox. In fact, the first time I used it, my husband walked past the bathroom afterwards and thought I had had a sneaky bath whilst upstairs! The smell is herbal, but with a hint of floral about it so it doesn't smell like it belongs in the kitchen. Looking at the description online, this must be the "sweet violet" which adds to the pleasant smell. It also lingers in the room for a little while after using it, which is nice especially in the bathroom. The cleaning powers of the product are on a par with most. I do find sometimes when I've applied make-up, that it doesn't manage to get all of it off my hands. I know this because when I dry my hands I sometimes notice make-up coloured stains being left on the towel. I find this is true of most handwashes, so maybe I'm not lathering up enough. Either way, I'm deducting a star for this reason. I can't really say I've noticed any moisturising properties to this handwash, although it doesn't claim to moisturise so I can't judge it for this. My hands are exceptionally dry now the colder weather is here, so I'll always make sure I'm topping up with hand cream throughout the day. For this reason, it's only an added bonus if handwash moisturises my hands, rather than something I've come to expect. I would definitely buy this handwash again. It's as effective as most rival products, and you get a bit more for your money with the 300ml container. It is one of the nicest smelling handwashes I've tried, although I guess the purple colour won't fit in with many people's colour schemes. Four stars from me. This is a review of Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch Handwash which we have been using in our downstairs toilet for a few months now. Purchase decision I bought it purely because it was purple and matched the hand towels we use in there! I am glad I bought this to try as I had been using the same Carex honey and oatmeal one for ages which I liked but had got used to the smell so it was time for a change. Description Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch Handwash comes in a clear bottle with a pump top dispenser. The product inside is a lovely deep purple colour and the bottle has one curvy side which is good for gripping if you want to lift or move the bottle with soapy hands. The bottle is 300ml in size and can go in the recycling box when empty. Claim The Jasmine Touch version is described as a pampering hand wash with jasmine and sweet violet which is naturally antibacterial. In use One pump is more than enough to get a decent lather going and the fragrance from this liquid soap is lovely. It stays on your hands for quite a while afterwards and is kind to skin, not drying out hands and nails whilst leaving behind a subtle fragrance. My husband has no problem using this so we can presume that he doesn't find it too girly either. My thoughts Imperial Leather (from Cussons) is a brand which I have been familiar with most of my life as my parents always had their big bars of soap (which I find a bit strong smelling). I have always loved liquid soap over a bar of soap and once I got my own house, every sink has a bottle of liquid soap to encourage hand washing and hygiene! Price I picked this Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch Handwash up for just a pound at Poundland although you can buy it at most of the main supermarkets. Final word My hands feel clean and soft after using Jasmine Touch and I think it looks really pretty in the bottle. I will definitely repeat buy this for the downstairs loo and we are also using it with our nearly two year old to encourage good post potty hand hygiene and she loves it too.
Whenever I'm carrying out the weekly supermarket shelf I simply cannot resist browsing the aisles of toiletries and choosing some new liquid hand washes. A brand that I rate very highly is Imperial Leather and one of their products I've repeatedly purchased is their gorgeous Jasmine Touch Pampering Hand Wash. ~~ APPEARANCE OF THE PRODUCT ~~ I very often decant various brands of hand washes into china dispensers, particularly when the packaging isn't too appealing on the eye. However, I never feel the need to do so with Imperial Leather as their containers are always considerably decorative with Jasmine Touch being presented to us in a curvaceous transparent plastic bottle containing 300 ml of a stunning purple coloured hand wash. The familiar Imperial Leather logo is located in the upper left hand corner together with an image of a pale lilac and purple coloured flower situated in the centre, which I presume to be jasmine. ~~ USING THE HAND WASH ~~ What I particularly like about this brand of products is the dispensing unit, which is slightly larger than other brands and when pressed it releases a sufficient amount of the reasonable consistency hand wash. This is a huge positive, as the design of the pump significantly cuts down on that annoying final drip that can often be experienced with other hand wash brands, which makes a mess on the sink or wash hand basin and is subsequently, a waste of product. If I had to choose one word to describe this hand wash it would be luxurious, as the fragrance is far superior to many other brands I've used. The aroma is extremely favourable, as we are greeted with the beautiful fragrance of jasmine combined with a hint of violet. Whilst these two floral aromas could be considered as feminine, I feel the product is well suited to both sexes and my current bottle is located in my downstairs cloak room. Only a small amount is needed to create a good lather to enable the product to efficiently cleanse away any grease and grime. As the wash contains natural antibacterial properties I have the assurance that it is carrying out an effective job. It is easily rinsed away without leaving any sticky residue and its' beautiful floral fragrance transfers to my hands and is evident for an hour or so later. I often suffer with very sensitive skin on my hands, particularly during the colder months where my knuckles will split and subsequently bleed. However, the hand wash delivers smoothing properties due to the jasmine and softening benefits from the violets. I have never suffered any adverse affects from using this hand wash, such as dryness or itching and am of the opinion that it is made from high quality ingredients as it is so gentle on my skin, yet effective. Consequently, Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch receives 5 stars from me together with my recommendation. ~~ INGREDIENTS AND OTHER INFORMATION ~~ I do not believe in copying lengthy lists of ingredients into my reviews, but can advise that there is no alcohol in this hand wash. The product has been dermatologically tested and is skin friendly pH. The wash should be used within 18 months of opening with the bottle being suitable for recycling once empty. ~~ PRICE AND AVAILABILITY ~~ Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch Pampering Hand Wash is widely available in supermarkets and chemists and until 25 October 2011 you can purchase all fragrances from Tesco where it has been reduced from £1.62 to £1.00. I hope you found my review useful and would thank you for reading.
When it comes to hand wash I am not particularly loyal to any one brand and usually stock up with whatever is on offer. On a recent shopping trip I spotted that the Imperial Leather range of hand washes were on offer at just one pound a bottle so I popped a few in my basket. Ordinarily this retails at around £1.60 a bottle so this represents quite a saving. There are several varieties of hand washes in the range and to be honest I didn't have time to stop and read the product description in any great detail. I just chose the ones that had the prettiest colours! One of the bottles I picked up was the 'Jasmine touch pampering hand wash', which I shall review today. The Jasmine touch hand wash comes in a plastic bottle that contains 300ml of the product. The bottle itself is transparent, which allows you to see the hand wash inside and tell exactly how much remains so you don't unexpectedly run out. At the top of the bottle there is a pump through which the product is dispensed. The bottle is ergonomically designed with a slight curvy shape and a small flat ridge on one side, which allows the bottle to be gripped easily. The hand wash itself has a lovely purple colour and at the front of the bottle there is a picture of a sweet violet flower. The front label also states that this is a pampering hand wash. The back of the bottle contains a more detailed product description. The hand wash is described as a rich, fragrant and creamy and when used leaves the hands feeling healthy, supple and soft. The hand wash also contains natural antibacterial ingredients. I was pleased to read this as the hand wash was to be placed in the bathroom and I think some anti bacterial property is important in this case. I was however quite intrigued by the description, which claims that the hand wash is naturally antibacterial, as none of the ingredients immediately struck me as having anti bacterial qualities. So, for the purpose of writing a balanced review I did a little research and learnt that actually Jasmine flowers are known to have strong antibacterial activity. They are also, according to the label, famed for their skin smoothing benefits. Sweet violets too are often used for their antiseptic properties and are known for their skin softening benefits. Now, on to the soap itself. I must admit that when it comes to pump bottles such as this one I don't have a lot of luck and often end up struggling to open it and get the product flowing. I am pleased to report that the pump on this bottle was surprisingly easy to work. The hand wash is easily dispensed and has a fairly thin, but not too runny, consistency. To use I usually rinse my hands with warm water before squirting a couple of blobs onto them and rubbing. The product lathers up nice and easily, producing a decent amount of bubbles. The soap also has a really pleasant smell. I don't like toiletries that smell too floral as I find this a bit sickly but this soap just smells light and sweet. I must admit that when it comes to products in the Imperial Leather range I am always weary that they will smell quite harsh. This concern stems from my childhood where my parents would always have a bar of Imperial Leather soap in the bathroom. I used to find the smell of this quite harsh and it would always catch the back of my throat. I have found that some of their shower gels also have an undertone of this harsh soapy smell so I was pleasantly surprised that this was not the case with the handwash. The hand wash rinses off very easily without leaving a residue. Once washed off my hands feel very clean and quite soft though I don't think the wash is particularly moisturising. The skin on my hands is quite dry and I find that only the hand washes that contain shea butter are moisturising enough for them. I often find that hand washes that claim to have antibacterial properties can be bit drying but was pleased to note that this was not the case with this particular hand wash. The smell of the wash is quite delicate and doesn't last particularly long. Overall then I am quite pleased with this hand wash. At £1 a bottle it is a bit of a bargain. It smells pleasant and leaves my hands feeling clean and soft. It's not particularly moisturising but it doesn't dry my skin out. It would be nice if the smell lasted a little longer but that is a minor niggle. Recommended!
I'm afraid like many people I don't stick to a certain type of handwash, and tend to go with what is on offer, although I do have a preference from Dove products. Since Dove handwash is often full price and costly at that, I go with whatever the best price is, and recently, Tesco had a buy one get one free offer on this Imperial Leather Jasmine Touch handwash for £1.45 for a 300ml pump bottle. I have previously tried handwash products from this range but never this Jasmine touch one, and to be honest, I picked it because I thought it would look quite pretty on my bathroom sink, since the actual handwash is a deep purple colour, in a rather curvy bottle. On the front of this bottle, it states that this is a 'pampering handwash' containing 'jasmine and sweet violet'. It also claims to contain a natural antibacterial, and is suitable for the whole family. On the reverse o the bottle, it states that this handwash will create a rich, fragrant and creamy lather, leaving your hands 'healthy, soft and supple'. The gentle antibacterial will also have extra benefits for health. Further information is also available stating that Jasmine is known for its 'skin smoothing' properties as well as its pleasant aroma, whereas the sweet violet has 'skin softening' properties. It is a mild handwash and therefore suitable for all the family. As I said, I was a little bit fickle in this particular purchase, since apart from the very good offer that Tesco had on the product, I picked it due to the warm purple colour that certainly does look nice beside the bathroom, or kitchen sink. I have had this in our bathroom for a week now, and although I wouldn't say that the handwash has an overtly strong scent, it is a warm and clean scent that does linger on your skin for a duration after washing. It is easy to form a lather with the product and it does feel creamy against your skin as you wash your hands. I have noticed recently, that my hands have been drier than usual, even though I don't tend to suffer from dry skin, but I think will also the cold wintry weather that we have been experiencing, certainly in Northern Ireland, my hands resemble what they are like in the winter months. Since using this handwash, I do think it is having a positive effect on keeping my skin both clean, but soft and smooth, and certainly not drying it out, like some cheaper handwash products can do. I would certainly purchase this product again, obviously when it is on offer, both for its attractive colour, but more importantly it does its job as a handwash keeping your hands clean, soft and smooth, which is all I want really.
We seem to constantly have a different handwash every time I turn around. Where they come from, I'm not entirely sure. I know we occasionally get them at Christmas, and there's one in particular that we choose as it kind of fits in with our bathroom style, but then other brands seem to materialise from time to time. I guess it's down to my mother or my wife's who give us these things. Either way, and no matter where it came from, I'm quite liking the latest addition to our downstairs bathroom: Imperial Leather's jasmine Touch Pampering Hand wash. The mere name seems to suggest it should be used sparingly and when you need pampering, but we tend to use it every time we go to the loo! It's naturally antibacterial, which means it should be softer on your skin. I do have sensitive skin (at times) and so far I've only experienced a soothing and soft feeling afterwards, so a thumbs up on this front. The bottle itself I find is quite important with this sort of product. Obviously, it's not as important as what's inside, but here, there's an ergonomic design to the bottle, with slight curves on each side that make it fit snugly in your hand should you need to pick it up. But the real important bit is the dispenser. The pump at the top is activated by a small twist, which then releases it for dispensing, and when you push down, it feels like you have a bit of control over it. Some dispensers are loose and dribble out the contents, but this was feels firm and controlled, and allows just the right amount of hand wash to come out, without fear of mess, breakage or knocking the bottle over. Good design. The hand wash itself is quite gloopy, which is nice seeing as some can be rather runny. I would suggest though, not to keep it where it would be in the sun a lot, as the heat will thin it out a bit, and it would come out like it and change your perception of its quality. It's a deep purple colour, fitting with the jasmine and violet fragrances it boasts. As you mix it with water and lather it up, it forms a soft foam that feels smooth all around your hands and wrists. It's not too 'rich' either, and you don't feel like the dispenser gives you too much for the soapiness, another balance they've got right. The fragrance is definitely a jasmine scented one, and it's nice that they've balanced it well with the violet element as well. I don't think I'd use this too much, as it is rather floral and that just doesn't fit in with my other fragrances such as my deoderant and aftershave, but for use when I'm in that bathroom then it works well. We also have a neutral smelling hand wash in there in case I use it on my way out. The scent of the Imperial Leather one is lovely, though, and the floral nature is subtle and lingers. For a few hours after using it, I can still smell it on my hands, albeit faintly. It's not something that wafts and floats about the room, so you wouldn't overpower anything else you may have used over time, but for the first few minutes I think it's quite noticeable. This hand wash has a good balance of everything. Other than the fact that it has a very floral scent to it and therefore doesn't completely mix with my other smellies, I can't fault it, and even this criticism is something that's in my control as opposed to something wrong with the hand wash itself. I'm impressed with this, and will certainly look to get another when this starts running out. We may try another scent, and looking around you can get this for £1 for a 300ml bottle of it. That is the size we have, and it's the usual size for hand wash bottles. I've also recently tried IL's refreshing shower gel, and have been equally impressed with the quality of the contents and of the dispenser. It seems as if the company has it right across the board. Recommended.
My ensuite bathroom is white, everything is white from the tiles to the shower to the toilet. It was like this when we moved in and I intend to keep it that way as if I want to add any colour to the bathroom it is pretty simply and inexpensive to add a few colourful towels or ornaments. Currently my ensuite has a feature colour of aubergine or purple to put it simply so I have deep purple towels, a gorgeous purple vase so just a touch of colour. However, I am incredibly OCD about things and my handwash has to match the colour scheme! Therefore on my hunt for a purple handwash I came across Jasmine Touch by Imperial Leather. I simply bought it as it was purple there was no other reason for purchase a bit silly I know but it fitted my bathroom well! The hand wash is actually a mix of jasmine and sweet viola which fortunately for me I like both fragrances especially violet which is something you don't find a lot in high street bath/hand/shower products. What Imperial Leather say: "This indulgent blend of jasmine & sweet violet, along with naturally antibacterial ingredients, will leave your hands feeling pampered and soft." Jasmine Touch comes in a completely clear plastic bottle which is slightly curved at the one side. It comes complete with a pump which again is clear. On the front of the bottle there is a lovely image of a purple jasmine flower together with the Imperial Leather image and on the back there are the ingredients and all other information one would expect. It's a shame Dooyoo didn't put an image of the bottle instead of the logo! The pump works well which is great especially as other handwashes I have used have either given me too much too quickly or not enough. Once you have turned it around so it pops up then your good to go. The handwash is a gorgeous clear, violet colour which has quite a thick consistency which is great as you don't end up with most of it already down the drain before you have even washed your hands. You only need to press the pump once to get a decent amount to wash your hands. The aroma of Jasmine Touch is simply gorgeous there are no other words to describe it. Normally Jasmine takes over anything it is teamed with but the fragrance of violet is incredibly noticeable and almost takes over from Jasmine which for me is perfectly fine as I love the aroma of violet. However, it is not over powering in the slightest but it is powerful enough for you to smell it clearly as well as staying on your hands for a few hours or until you wash your hands again. Like most handwashes it lathers up as soon as it makes contact with water and it produces a nice, soft white lather which is quite frothy and as long as you don't use too much the amount of bubbles is quite nice and then they are simply washed away when you rinse your hands. Having a child as well as numerous cats and dogs in the house I wash my hands a lot so I like them to be cared for by the handwash and obviously I want my skin to remain soft and I have to say this handwash does a great job of caring for your hands without being over the top. My skin has been left soft and smooth when using this and to top it off the lovely, sweet fragrance remains as a nice, gentle reminder. This really is a lovely handwash and apart from fitting in with my colour scheme incredibly well it has a gorgeous aroma which I can't think I will ever stop liking. Its gently sweet aroma is fragrant and it lasts which is definitely a plus. I would without question recommend this caring handwash to anyone as it keeps your skin soft and doesn't irritate. As with most Imperial Leather products you can purchase it at most supermarkets, discount stores and stores such as Boots and Superdrug. Expect to pay around £1.00 for a 300ml bottle but it is generally on offer quite a lot of the time.
I found the Imperial Leather Jasmine hand wash whilst do my regular shopping. I like hand wash for my bathroom as I feel it is much more hygienic than soap, especially when you have visitors. The wash only cost me £1 from Tesco as it was on special offer, but normally it is priced at £1.60 for a 300ml bottle. The hand wash is a dark purple colour inside a clear plastic bottle with the usual pump action top, which once twisted to initially activate, works very well with just one or two pumps for each hand wash. **PACKAGE AND CLAIMS** Other than the bottle the packaging is pretty simple. There is the Imperial Leather logo and a "family Kind for 0ver 60 years " stamp which indicates the company uses recyclables where ever possible - always a good thing. The simple flower on the front is situated just above the product detail which shows this is jasmine and sweet violet and is marketed as a pampering hand wash, but also claims to have some anti bacterial ingredients too. On the back are descriptions of the jasmine ingredient used for its skin smoothing benefits and the sweet violet for its softening and of course there fragrance. I like the fact that the product is apparently Ph skin friendly and mild enough for all the family to use, I have had no one complain to me of any skin reactions anyway. **SMELL AND CLEANING** The smell is fantastic! Very deep and seductive all of my friends have commented how nice it is and even my chap who never comments on the smells of such products! You can defiantly smell the jasmine and the violet and they do complement each other very well. Cleaning - it does a good job. It lathers well and cleans generally dirty and socially dirty hands with no issues and has also managed very well with muddy garden hands too! **OVERALL** I love this and will most defiantly buy it again - well worth a try.
