“ Brand: Cussons / Type: Hand Wash / Suitable for: Hand „
I first tried this hand wash in work. I loved using it so much every day that I bought my own bottle of it for my home. When I bought it it was on offer for just £1 which I thought was a great bargain - especially as it's normal price is around £2. You can find this hand wash (as well as many others in the range) from supermarkets and Boots etc.
The hand wash comes in a clear see-through plastic bottle. This is good because not only does it look nice but it allows you to see how much of the hand wash is left in the bottle.
To apply the hand wash, simply 'pump it out' using the pump. I find that one pump is good enough per hand wash. The wash lathers really well and it is really thick and creamy - feels quite luxurious.
The wash is 100% soap free and contains jojoba milk and vitamin E which are said to be essential for good skin.
The wash has a lovely 'clean scent' - it's quite perfume-y. I find that the scent stays on my hands for a little while after washing. It's quite a girly scent. The
My hands feel really clean after using this hand wash. It doesn't leave my hands feeling that soft though which is a shame. It's certainly not enough to put me off this hand wash though, and I would definitely buy it again.
Because we love this hand wash so much, we tend to get through it really quickly. So I would say that with the three of us, this hand wash only lasts a few days which is a shame!
There is a little 'logo' on the bottle which says 'family friendly' which is great, as it means that this hand wash is suitable for the whole family.
I would definitely recommend this hand wash.
Thanks for reading!

I like to keep some handwash in the bathroom and kitchen because I find using a bar of soap a little bit un-hygeinic if everyones using it, and it makes my hands dry. I'm not paticularly loyal to a brand, but tend to use carex.
This one was on special offer in Asda and I think I got it for about £1.00 which I thought was good, espcially as Imperial Leather is a well known brand.
The handwash is a pearly white colour and smooth silky looking texture. It's fairly thick in consistency allowing you to rub it around your hands rather than being watery and going straight down the plug.
The pump ontop allows you to use the handwash when your hands are wet without having to pick up the bottle or take a lid off which is good. This makes it good for little ones, my grandson is 4, so it makes it nice and easy for him to wash his hands independantly without having to struggle opening the bottle first.
I used the handwash by wetting my hands with warm water first, then pumping a small amount onto my hands before rubbing them together turning the handwash into a bubbly lather then rinsing and drying with a towel. The handwash leaves your hands feeling softer than normal which is nice and your hands smell nice after you've washed them.
This handwash lasted me quite well, at least a few weeks which you can't complain about for a £1 of clean hands.
Overall, this handwash is grea. It's easy to use, not to expensive and leaves your hands smelling clean and feeling soft. I can't complain!
I don't make a big fuss on hand washes to be honest. I buy the one on offer most of the times. I used to stick to certain brands like Dove or Palmolive as they are really good but lately my sons wash their hands on their own and they use occasionally 10-20 times more hand wash than needed... I was wondering why doesn't last so long as usually, then I realised it...
Last time I bought Imperial Leather for 1 pound and I am absolutely satisfied with it. You can find it in all the supermarkets and chemists. It comes in a clear plastic bottle with pump dispenser. The hand wash in the bottle is white and has subtle scent which I feel very clean. The liquid is as thick as the other hand washes in general, it has nice silky texture. It makes thick foam on my hands and keeps them soft and moisturised. A small quantity is enough so under normal circumstances it lasts long. My sons enjoy playing with the pump hence it lasts about a week, otherwise for about a month as we don't spend too much time at home.
What I like about this product is that it is 100% soap free and it rinses off easily. These are important for me because my kids use this hand wash too. They have the IKEA stand and reach almost everything they want. This product is gentle enough to be suitable for all the family.
The hand wash is dermatologically tested, but in case you are sensitive to any of the ingredients it is worth checking. The ingredients are: Aqua, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Chloride, Glycerin, Polyquaternium-7, Parfum, Tocopherol Acetate, Simmondsia Chinensis, Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer, Lactic Acid, Sodium Benzoate, Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate, Benzyl Salicylate, Coumarin, Limonene, Geraniol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool.
As we don't suffer from any allergies this product suits us all and I really like it. I think it is a great value for the 1 pound I paid for it.
I usually use antibacterial hand washes, like Carex, in my bathroom, but on my last shop there was a special offer on Imperial Leather Softly Softly Handwash. It was half the price of my usual handwash, so I thought I would give it a go.
It comes in a plastic bottle, with a pump to dispense the handwash onto your hand. The handwash is white, and the bottle has the Imperial Leather logo on it.
I found the handwash to have a nice, silky texture and when mixed with water it spreads and foams onto the hands really nice, and I find it has a really nice smell to it as well. The smell is quite subtle, and you have to give it a good sniff to smell it, but it does have an almost fabric softener smell to it. It is nice and fresh, and smells clean. The handwash rinses off quite easily too, and I was quite happy to find that my hands do not feel dry or rough after use. In fact they felt quite soft, and I was impressed with this.
All in all, I think this is a good handwash, and I would recommend it to people, but I am a bit strange when it comes to handwashes and when this runs out, I will probably go back to Carex or another antibacterial handwash, just so I will feel that my hands are germ free. This Handwash does make me feel that my hands are clean, but I am just a strange person and that is something I have always had to do, keep my hands as clean as possible.
I recommend this Imperial Leather Softly Softly Handwash, as it does make your hands very clean and soft, so it pretty much does what it says on the bottle. You can buy this in Boots and in major supermarkets for around £1.50 a bottle, and I have had mine for 3 weeks now and it has hardly gone down, it lasts for ages so totally worth the money you pay.
I try not to use soap to wash my hands - as a busy mum, constantly cleaning, my hands get a bit of a battering from days soaking in hot water when washing up, so I like something a little gentler . This is why I like the Softly Softly Handwash from Imperial Leather .
I usually don't have a great deal of brand loyalty, but Imperial Leather is a brand I have trusted since I was young, when my family would always use the soap bars with their little stickers in the bath. The handwash (which contains Jojoba Milk and Vitamin E ) comes in a nice pearl coloured recyclable bottle , that is light enough in colour to show how much product is left if held up the the light. The bottle curves in at one side, presumably to make it comfortable to grip, although mine stands by the sink , and I just push down the pump element without picking up the bottle .
The label on the back states that the product is 100 soap free, is dermatologically tested, and is mild enough for the whole family . This is reassuring, as as well as my hands, ruined by housework, there is also my boyfriend, an excema sufferer, and my daughter , with sensitive skin, using this on a regular basis.
Pushing down the pupmp dispenses a small amount of cream coloured handwash , and with a little warm water this soon lather up really nicely, with lots of creamy bubbles, and a lovely clean fresh scent . I find that this leaves my hands lovely and clean, and removes any nasty odours, especially useful after chopping onions . I've used it once withvery greasy hands, and found it cut through the grease really well. My hands smell lovely and clean afterwards, although this pleasant smell fades quickly .
Overall, this is a good handwash that does the job it is supposed to, without any drying soap . It certainly doesn't make my hands any dryer, and neither my boyfriend or my daughter have had any bad reactions to it , so this one will be staying next to the bathroom sink! 5 stars .
One thing I'm a devil for is washing my hands. With smoking and stuff, hand hygiene is incredibly important to me and for that reason I buy liquid handwash opposed to soap (cos they scum and melt everywhere!) on a regular basis and I spotted this one in Asda and on offer for a pound a bottle so I decided to try it!
300ml, plastic almost transparent but off white bottle that has an indentation to the middle of the bottle for ease of handling and a plastic arm dispenser to the top of it that has a twisty bit to it to turn it on/off. On the front of the bottle I'm told that it is Cussons Imperial Leather, Family Kind, Softly Softly Moisturising Jojoba Milk & Vitamin E Hand Wash. On the back of the bottle other information given includes being told a bit about the product and ingredients are listed, size is stated, I'm told how to use it and contact details for PZ Cussons are listed. Nice enough, easy to handle bottle this is and it looks nice enough and of course is as pleasant and as informative as it needs to be.
A Bit About The Product According To The Information Given On The Back Of The Bottle:

Skin friendly pH
Mild enough for the whole family
100% soap free
Well all you need of this whitish pearlescent creamy liquid (of good consistency) is to lather it up on damp/wet hands. It lathers up easily enough though don't expect much lather only a little is visible.
As you use this not only does it feel moisturising in a none greasy way but it releases a soft almost creamy aroma of flowers as it goes and its smooth and pleasantly fragrant to use.
It rinses off with incredible ease and leaves hands fragranced in a subtle way for a good hour or so but more than that it cleans very well indeed and leaves hands feeling soft, supple and moisturised for hours after using it so no need for a separate hand cream with this at all.
This is a superb easy, effective hand wash to use and I love it. The fragrance is gorgeous and it really does moisturise and clean the hands.... perfect for those of us prone to dry skin but even if you haven't got that it still isn't a greasy formulation so won't do any harm anyway! A perfect handwash for anyone and everyone to use!
This is available in all good chemists and supermarkets etc priced at about £1.29 a bottle (though often on offer in places!).
In our cottage we have a downstairs cloakroom and the washbasin in there is a very small one. This means that ordinary soap is out of the question as there just isn't room for it so I use a small container of handwash in there.
As the current one was almost finished I was on the lookout for a bargain and saw the Imperial Leather Softly, Softly Handwash on sale in our local branch of Tesco's for just £1. To be fair Imperial Leather seem to be responding well to the current cash crisis as I have seen their products on offer at most major outlets recently.
The Imperial Leather Handwashes all come in a smart, slightly curved, opaque white plastic container with a pump action dispenser with the familiar red Imperial Leather logo across the front. The label just tells us the name of the product and informs us that it is moisturising and contains jojoba milk and vitamin E.
The information on the back tells us that this has skin friendly PH and is
100% Soap free
Mild enough for the whole family
Apparently jojoba milk has been used for centuries as a natural moisturiser and vitamin E is essential for healthy skin.
The packaging is made completely from plastic and so can all be recycled.
The handwash itself is a thick pearlescent white liquid and is dispensed by means of a pump on the top of the container. The fragrance is really lovely - it is light and flowery and after use my hands smell clean and fresh.
After adding some warm water and giving my hands a rub together the handwash turns into a rich creamy lather which seems to fill the cloakroom with that lovely fragrance that I mentioned.
After use my hands were very clean and felt soft and smooth and certainly smelled nice. The handwash doesn't dry the skin which some soap can do and I do think that there is a moisturising quality to the product.
I have been very impressed with this handwash and have already purchased another as my first one is about to run out.
I have also noticed that Imperial Leather also make shower gel in this fragrance so I will be treating myself to some of that too!
By the way the picture at the top of this review is not the handwash - it is actually the shower gel. The handwash is the same sort of container only smaller and with a pump action dispenser.
I bought this handwash when the range was on a special offer a few months back. I forget what the offer was, but the usual price is around £1 - £1.20 depending on where you get it from.
It comes in a semi-transparent white plastic bottle, so you can always easily see how much is left. It has a press top dispenser which makes it easy to get just the right amount of the handwash to wash your hands.
The handwash is a fairly thin and runny consistency with a smooth, creamy texture. It feels really silky on your skin and when water is added it creates a lovely light creamy lather to wash with.
It feels like it's doing your skin some good and moisturising at the same time as giving them a good clean, and the hands are left feeling soft and clean.
My skin does feel moisturised and soft once my hands are dried off, but the feeling soon wears off, and I don't find there are any long-term benefits to using it.
The scent is quite nice, it's a soft creamy floral scent which stays on the skin for a while after using the handwash.
I think this is an Okay handwash, but there's nothing special about it and I won't be going out of my way to buy it again.
Before moving into this house last year I stocked up on all things smelly and beautiful especially hand washes to keep dotted around my three sinks. I get bored of just using the usual soap and enjoy new scents and benefits. I came across a few of the Imperial Leather handwashes but one that looked dreamy on the bottle was Imperial Leather's Softly Softly Moisturising Jojoba Milk and Vitamin E handwash. It cost me just £1 for the 300ml bottle so I couldn't resist.
The bottle it comes in is not the same as the one in the picture above that in fact is a bubble bath or shower cream bottle, the hand wash bottles are smaller with a pump dispenser on top to allow for easy squirting - especially if hands are greasy or wet.
On the front there is the usual Imperial Leather Red Banner with a few falling heart shaped petals saying Familykind! Softly Softly is written at the bottom in an elegant and gentle font.
On the back you are asked Do your hands need some love? If they do you are told to 'Take special care of them with this moisturising blnd of skin quenching Jojoba milk and Vitamin e. Unlock the gentle cleansers and rich creamy lather to enjoy hold-ably soft and clean hands all day ... everyday!'
There a few important points on the back of the bottle too such as;
Jojoba milk - used for centuries as a natural moisturiser.
Vitamin E- Vital for healthy happy skin.
Skin Friendly PH
Mild enough for the hwole family
100% soap free
Well all this sounded extremely promising and I couldn't wait to use it. There is nothing worse than using a hand wash that dries out the skin and leaves them feeling rougher than rough. My hands can be fairly sensitive especially when products are overly perfumed and contain so many ingredients that they can't cope. This sounded just like my sort of product.
By using the pump dispenser on top you can squirt out as much or as little as you like but I find a little is more than adequate. It pumps out as a white creamy substance with a dreamy and sensual scent.
As I rubbed it into my hands under warm running water it instantly lathered it felt smooth and gentle on my hands and the creamy, divine fragrance flowed around me. It was intense but not overwhelming, I found it a truly calming experience and smell. My hands began feeling soft as soon as it lathered up between them, it was a rich, creamy smooth sensation as I rubbed my hands together under the water. It is a difficult smell to describe but it has a calming and pleasing warmth to it - you can certainly smell the moisturising elements of it. It's not fruity nor overly floral but it is a stunning scent which lingers for ages after use.
It rinsed off with ease and left my hands feeling so soft, clean and gently fragranced. No greasy feeling was left and my hands felt extremely nourished and pampered, my skin didn't feel tight or dried out one little bit.
I have used this handwash to thoroughly clean some stubborn dirt after cooking meals or perhaps playing with the twins in a mucky mess and it has no trouble at all at removing dirt or refreshing my hands.
Every summer whether it be hot or not I suffer incredibly with a heat rash on one hand which my doctor prescribes me cream for and tablets but it comes back repeatedly. It can become quite sore in the heat or when I've been scratching and some products can irritate it quite a bit. This I find seems to soothe my problem in an instant and even leaves my little bumps feeling smooth, it calms the redness and doesn't sting or effect it in the slightest.
It was extremely good value for money too. I do only use a little bit at a time, perhaps a pea sized squirt twice a day and I bought mine last September and it is only just about to run out. I will definitely be buying some more when it does run out even if it is more than a £1 this time as I feel my hands have benefited from using this, they are smooth, soft and look and feel as though they are in a healthy condition.
We seem to get through hand wash like it is going out of fashion in our house...at least it proves we wash our hands I suppose!
I have dry skin, and have suffered with dermatitis on my hands so I need something moisturising. I usually buy Dove handwash, but I saw this Imperial Leather Softly Softly handwash on offer for just £1.00 for a 300ml bottle in my local pound store. It claimed to be moisturising so ever on the look out for a bargain I though I'd give it a go. After all, Imperial Leather is a trusted name. I'm not sure what the normal retail price is, but I've done a bit of research and it seems it can be up to around the £1.80 mark. The pump action dispenser is fully recyclable.
The hand wash contains jojoba milk and vitamin E, both moisturising and caring for the skin. it has a skin friendly pH, is 100% soap free and is dermatologically tested. It also claims to be mild enough for the whole family to use. It smells nice and the opaque white handwash feels quite creamy.
Unfortunately, I don't find this hand wash to be particularly kind to my skin or moisturising. My hands have become quite dry and my dermatitis has flared up since using it. I do have particularly dry skin though, so it may be OK for you if your skin is normal.
I have recently started to use the imperial leather softly softly shower cream which contains both jojoba milk and vitamin e. This shower cream leaves your skin smelling lovely and also feeling lovely. You only need a small amount to wach your whole body as it lathers up. This shower cream is brilliant for dry skn , as it is full of moisture and so helps to rehydrate your skin. It is suitable for use by the whole family, as suggested on the bottle, it is skin friendly and so is suitable for sensitive people with sensitive skin. This is the best shower cream that I have used in a long time as it leaves me feeling refreshed and also leaves you with a stong scent even after you have got dressed. It also leaves my skin feeling so soft. I would definately recommend this product, especially to all you ladies who love to treat yourself and leave yourself feeling refreshed.
My husband and I both have really sensitive hands that often get dry and sore so I like to buy moisturising hand washes that will soften our skin. About a year ago I saw this Imperial Leather Softly Softly hand wash on offer for only £1 so thought I'd give it a try as we both like the Imperial Leather range of shower gels and creams.
The picture shown above is incorrect as that is the shower cream product. The hand wash comes in a normal soap dispenser container with the push pump lid which has an attractive curvy shape. The bottle is a misty transparent colour and you can see that the soap inside is white. On the front of the bottle it says it is Softly Softly moisturising and there are a few hearts dotted about (not in a girly way) which makes is seem like it is a good and healthy product. It has a blend of jojoba milk and vitamin e which make a creamy flowery smell. The jojoba milk is a natural moisturiser and the vitamin e is a vital ingredient for healthy happy skin. Together they create a rich and creamy lather and you can feel it softening your skin as soon as you rub your hands together. This is a family kind hand wash that effectively cleans and moisturises your hands.
It usually retails at around £1.50, the same price as other Imperial Leather hand washes, but can often be found for only £1 in offers in all shops.
Since I first tried this product I have been continually using it as it is the softest and most nourishing soap that I have found. It smells lovely and really does work wonders for your skin to leave your hands feeling soft, smooth and healthy.
