      Very helpful

Liked trying them but won't be buying any more

This is a review of a great innovative product from Japonesque. Under the Beauty Fixation label, these cotton buds are filled with nail polish remover, ideal for touch ups on the go, travel and mess free removal.

      What are they?
They are cotton buds, with the tube in the middle filled with remover. To use you snap the end off and wait for the other end to flood with the product before using. You get 24 applicators in each pack and just discard after using.

      In use
I have used these numerous times just to touch up the edges of a manicure, where it's not worth soaking a cotton wool pad (which I would do for a full removal). One bud will touch up a couple of nails and they are quite precise. You could not remove a full handfull of polish with these (unless you didn't mind using the full box).

      My thoughts
I love the concept of these, they are great for travel and ideal for the purpose of tidying up a polish if it has gone over the cuticle or round the edge of your nail. They are quick, easy and hygenic to use. The downsides are there too though. I don't really see the point of paying for these when you can just dip a normal cotton bud in to a bottle of remover to do the same job, it's a lot cheaper! Whilst these are ideal for travel, you still need to take the bottle of remover to remove a full nail.

      Price and availability
I got my pack in a beauty box but at the time they were sold at Superdrug. They are no longer available here or seemingly anywhere else in the UK (online research suggests - they may be available in some independent stores). However they are widely available in America so could be shipped over if you don't mind the postage costs. Average price seems to be around $5 a pack.

      Final word
I enjoyed trying these and would probably take them in my handbag for a quick touch up if I had done a rush job late at night and wanted to tidy up the edges the next morning. Other than that I think these are superfluous to everyday use and are not good enough to warrant the effort required to purchase a pack. I do, however think the idea of using the every day cotton bud as a container for small amount of beauty products, as it makes them very transportable. I have already reviewed the lip conditioner I have from the same brand and will be reviewing the make up touch ups. There are also other items available from the range which includ a cuticle conditioner, an eyebrow prep solution and eye primer. This brand is popular with make up artists and I can understand as they are hygenic, disposable and easy to use on the go. Just don't mix up your nail polish remover with the eye make up remover ones!
