Advantages: Smells of apples, yum!
Disadvantages: Pumps out at a funny angle.
My son chose this, along with a few other toiletries on the agreement that he would start washing his hands, having a bath, brushing his teeth, etc without me having to literally carry him upstairs and force him to do it!
Guess what, it worked!!!
The bottle is in a deep turquoise green shade and has a long white dispenser pump. the front is adorned with a picture of a cartoon sink with hands. I think he is trying to wash himself and has a huge grin on his face! Brilliant - Just the kind of behaviour that is going to encourage my son to do the same, lol.
It is called Johnsons Junior Handwash, easy rinse foam and has the red 'no more tears' logo on the left hand side. With this not being shampoo and there not being much chance of them getting it in their eyes, I can only assume the tears refer to the ones that are shed during our many heated discussions on why it is important to wash your hands!
it used to be like talking to a brick wall but now we have a cartoon sink showing how it's done, he actually seems to get it!
The dispenser is one of those that you can turn left to close or right to open and is quite broad so perfect for little hands.
When you put your hand under the pump and press on the dispenser though, it completely misses and goes flying straight forward. It is almost impossible to angle your hand that way so I have to pick it up and aim it in to my son's hands, which means he can only use it supervised. He is four and to use it he would have to pick it up with one hand, pump with the other and have a third hand to catch it.
The foam itself is quite light and fine, it looks like it isn't really going to do much but when you start to rub it in it seems to thicken up and easily coats your hands. It is a very, very pale green and smells of apples. Not actual apples though, the sweet and sugary, bubblegum type smell of apples.
It washes off really easily and leaves your hands feeling quite soft, unfortunately they don't smell of apples though.
It is a 250ml bottle and I have seen it sold at around 1.99 but we get most of our Johnsons stuff from the pound shop so have a look in their first.
I would recommend the handwash, the only problem is the pump, which I have already mentioned. But, If it gets your kids washing their hands it's well worth it. My son now washes his hands automatically after using the toilet or helping me cook.
Summary: great for kids, they will need help to use though.
