L'Occitane Cherry Blossom Hand Cream
Advantages: scent, soft hands, packaging, lovely gift
Disadvantages: expensive, doesn't moisturise quite as well as the original

~Cherry Blossom Hand Cream~
L'Occitane offer many different hand creams and the one I will be discussing today is the Cherry Blossom Hand Cream. L'Occitane offer quite a lot of cherry blossom scented products including body cream, perfume and soap.
This hand cream is enriched with skin-softening shea butter. It also contains cherry extract from the Luberon Provence. L'Occitane promote this hand cream as being non greasy and claim that your hands will be left 'nourished, protected and delicately scented'.
This hand cream is presented in a beautiful, expensive looking silver tube. The tube is adorned with pink flowers and writing and looks very attractive to the eye. The tube is finished off with a screw cap. This is a handy sized product to pop into your handbag. This product has a 12 month shelf life.
A 30ml hand cream can be purchased from www.uk.loccitane.com priced at £8.00. There is a different version available in a 75ml size priced at £14.00. This version contains vitamin E. The travel sized tube is also available as part of a 3 piece trial set priced at £18.00.
I am a huge fan of L'Occitane products and especially adore their hand creams. I normally use the original hand cream but when I received a small tube of this, I was very happy. I find L'Occitane hand creams to be of a high quality and whilst £8.00 may seem a lot given how much product you actually receive, it is very much worth the extra cost in my opinion.
Not only does the packaging look stylish, the contents of the tube are even better. The hand cream itself is fairly thick and adopts a white, shiny appearance. It doesn't appear to be as rich a cream as the original hand cream that L'Occitane offer. In a way, this is a positive aspect as it means it is more practical to use whilst on the go. Despite being thick and luxurious, this hand cream is lightweight and gentle on the skin.
I only ever dispense a tiny blob of hand cream and this is more than enough to fully coat my hands in an even layer. The cream feels smooth and very cooling so is a treat to apply to tired and uncomfortable hands. I find this suitable as an everyday hand cream rather than an intensive hand cream. The cream is easily worked into my hands and around my nails without feeling greasy and it absorbs into my skin quickly leaving no residue or tacky feeling.
The scent of this hand cream is gorgeous and very feminine. I like cherry blossom as a scent and find that L'Occitane offer the nicest variation of this scent that I have tried. It is slightly sweet and delicately floral with a powdery undertone. It does linger on my hands for quite a while and is subtle yet noticeably beautiful. I would imagine many females would appreciate the scent as it doesn't overpower or transfer. It lingers like a soft, relaxed scent.
Results wise, this hand cream does perform well. It leaves my hands feeling refreshed, soft and smooth on the surface. It doesn't hydrate or moisturise as intensively as the higher shea content hand cream but I am pleased with the results overall. I would say it is more suited to softening the skin rather than penetrated extra dry areas of my hands. I have experienced no irritation from using this hand cream and it is kind to sensitive skin. I need to apply this once or twice a day depending on how often I am washing my hands or which chores I am doing.
I really like this hand cream. It leaves my hands feel soft and beautifully scented. It does lose a star for not being as generous with moisture as the original hand cream. This would make a lovely stocking filler or addition to a birthday/Christmas gift set in my opinion.
Thanks for reading :)
