      Advantages

      Disadvantages

      an expensive purchase!

La Prairie originated in Switzerland. La Prairie offer a wide range of expensive skin care and fragrance products.

      ~Cellular Hand Cream~

      Suitable for all skin types.

La Prairie Cellular Hand Cream is promoted as being a 'deeply moisturising' hand cream. It is enriched with minerals, algae and marine substances as well as a 'Moisture Complex' which helps restore hydration and improve the moisture barrier of your hands. This hand cream is classed as being an anti-ageing hand cream as it will diminish age spots whilst improving elasticity of the skin. Hands should be left gently exfoliated and ultimately soft and smooth.

      ~Packaging~

Whilst quite simple, the packaging for this hand cream is functional and of a high quality. The hand cream is conveniently presented in a tall tube which is white and silver in design. The hand cream can be easily dispensed by unscrewing the silver lid at the base and revealing a small dispensing whole.

      ~Price and Availability~

Cellular Hand Cream is available in a 100ml sized tube. It can be purchased online and from La Prairie counnters in stores such as House of Fraser. Expect to pay around £66.00 for this hand cream. This is much more expensive than other hand creams but on par with brands such as Creme de la Mer.

      ~My Thoughts~

My beauty box contains quite a few hand creams which I like to alternate with. I mainly have cheaper brands such as Nivea and Johnson's but do have a few more expensive hand creams. I currently own a travel sized tube of Cellular Hand Cream which I received as part of a beauty set. This is the most expensive hand cream I own and at the moment, appears to be the most expensive hand cream on the House of Fraser website! Is it really worth the high price tag though?

I would say that this hand cream is far too intensive for daily use though La Prairie do state to use this as and when you feel the need to. I personally prefer to use it whenever my hands need a deep down moisture boost. This is a fantastic hand cream to apply during the colder months or by using as a hand mask underneath some fabric gloves.

This hand cream is very easy to apply. Only a small blob is required to fully coat my hands - anymore is a waste as my hands end up overly greasy. The cream itself is beautifully thick, ultra cooling and spreads like a dream across my hands and nails. This hand cream feels very luxurious to use - a true treat. It does take a while to absorb into my hands so I only tend to use this when I can fully concentrate on massaging this pampering treat right in to my hands.

The fragrance of the hand cream is quite subtle but is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of an expensive sun lotion - creamy, sweet and with delicate hints of the ocean. It lingers beautifully and is noticeable a few hours after application. Once absorbed, my hands feel amazing. This hand cream sinks deep down into my hands and fully hydrates them. I suffer with dry patches often but as soon as I apply this hand cream, the dry areas disappear instantly. My hands are left feeling supple, smooth and non tacky in any way. I can still witness the results later in the evening despite washing my hands a lot during the day. Dryness doesn't return for quite some time - much better than regular hand creams.

I am in my mid 20's but prior to using this hand cream, I noticed my hands often felt tight and looked older than my actual years. This hand cream does an excellent job of restoring elasticity and makes my hands look a lot younger and much more healthy in appearance. This hand cream is intensive and performs well on my hands as it locks in long lasting moisture. I have experienced absolutely no irritation or discomfort from this hand cream so it is suitable for those who have sensitive skin in my opinion.

      ~Conclusion~

I do not need to use this everyday. I find twice a week sufficient enough so my tube has lasted well. The results do last well and this is definitely a high quality hand cream with excellent ingredients blended in to it. It is more of a hand treat than an 'apply and go' sort of hand cream and is very pampering to use.

I cannot, however, justify the price of this hand cream. Whilst I do not need to apply daily (or more than once a day depending on how bad my skin is), I feel £66.00 is extortionate. A 100ml tube would likely last me around 18months but it still is more than I would feel comfortable with paying - fine if I win the lotto though! I am treasuring the dregs I have left in my tube.

Overall 4 stars - let down by the expensive price as it isn't 'that' special!

      Thanks for reading :)
