Advantages: the scent! natural and organic ingredients, vegan friendly, well absorbed, leaves skin soft
Disadvantages: bit pricey
Lavera is an organisation specialising in natural and organic skin, beauty and hair products for all the family. This review will be focusing on the hand cream which I was attracted to due to the values of the company (and the fact I got a free tester may have had something to do with it).
We put so many chemicals and unnatural products onto our skin without really considering what we are doing, especially perfumed products when we often don't know what the chemicals are or the effects they can have. And a lot of these products have involved subjecting animals through torture just to ensure its safe. While I am not completely innocent in buying animal-cruelty free products, I do like to make sure that most of the products I do buy haven't been tested on animals.
** The cream **
On opening the cream, there is quite a luxurious scent. It definitely smells natural which makes it smell so much nicer than chemical filled creams. There is a slightly floral and a hint of sweet nut which intensifies as you rub it into your skin. The scent isn't too long lasting but it is lovely while you can smell it.
A small amount of this product goes a long way. It may not be a very thick or rich cream but this means it spreads so easily over the skin. I just needed to put a very small amount onto my hands and it spread over my hands very easily without being greasy. It is also quite quick to absorb into the skin, which I was very pleased with. Once absorbed there is no greasy residue; just lovely soft skin.
My hands were left quite soft. Not miraculously so, but nice enough and I am quite pleased with the results. I have also used this product on my feet to test just how well it worked with dry skin and I was very pleased. It certainly feels superior to other creams out there.
** Sensitive Skin **
This product is marketed for sensitive skin. As someone who does not have particularly sensitive skin it is hard to judge how well the cream fares in that department. However, on my normal skin it did not provoke any kind of reaction.
** Price and Availability **
As I live in quite a small town, it is easier for me to find this online. You can check out the Lavera website or many other natural/ eco/ ethical beauty websites. Eco-Essentials will also send a free sample for £0.99p postage (with other products to choose from).
Price wise, expect to pay around £3.75 for a 75ml tube. There may be cheaper out there, but I love the smell of this, the effect of the product and that it is natural and not tested on animals.
** Overall **
It may not be a miracle product but I would definitely recommend it. Especially to those with dry, sensitive skin. The cream does work quite well and a huge plus that it is vegan friendly and made with natural and organig ingredients.
It is a bit pricey (and anyone who regularly reads my reviews will know how much I love a bargain) but I think it is worth it for this product. For the price I had to mark this product at 4/5.
Summary: A great cream that is natural, organic, smells great and works!
