M&S Essential Cocoa & Vanilla Hand Wash

Advantages: cheap, on offer at the moment as well, gorgeous fragrance

Disadvantages: the pump on the bottle is a bit stiff

I've just recently bought this Cocoa Butter & Vanilla hand wash from Marks & Spencer, it's part of their 'essential extracts' toiletries collection, and there's an offer on at the moment whereby you can 'buy one get one half price' over the entire range. The range includes hand washes, shower gels, bath foams, bath creams, hand & body lotions, hand & nail lotions, talcs and antiperspirant roll-ons. Each item in the range is just £1, and so under the offer you get two items for just £1.50 - bargain! I bought the Cocoa Butter & Vanilla hand wash and the Coconut Milk hand wash. I did have a little sniff of a few of the other products in the range and all of the ones that I smelt were lovely. This is the first time that I've used any of the products in the M&S essential extracts toiletries collection, but it definitely won't be the last.

The hand wash comes in a 300ml bottle. The hand wash is a luxurious fairly thick consistency, and it's a transparent very pale beige colour. This smells gorgeous, it has that gorgeous rich and creamy cocoa butter scent, shot through with the sweetness of vanilla. It kinda reminds me of Palmer's Cocoa Butter, although it seems to have a slightly 'cleaner' scent to it. The hand wash leaves my hands feeling lovely and soft, and smelling gorgeous, and the gorgeous cocoa butter and vanilla fragrance lingers on my hands for a little while after washing them.

The pump on this hand wash has been a little bit stiff, (and so has the pump on the coconut milk hand wash - maybe there's a design flaw in the pumps) and I have found that it is easy to knock the bottle over as the pump doesn't always depress properly. This is my only gripe with it though as the quality of the hand wash itself is fine. One pump of the hand wash is plenty to adequately wash my hands, it lathers up really well on my hands with just a small amount of water. It is really quite gentle and really kind to my skin, and it doesn't dry out my hands like some hand washes can, even with constant daily use. This leaves my hands perfectly clean.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hand wash, and I'd certainly buy it again. It's really great value at just £1, and even more so if you take advantage of the offer and get a second item at just 50 pence. I'd also like to try some of the other hand washes in the range too.
The other hand washes available were; Passion Flower, Grapefruit, Peach & Almond, Wild Berry, and Aloe Vera. Along with the two that I purchased; the Cocoa Butter & Vanilla hand wash, and the Coconut Milk hand wash.
