I was given this hand lotion as a birthday gift by my parents this year. My mum loves it and was also given it as a gift by one of her friends. I'm glad it was a gift because when I discovered the price I was shocked! This is definately not a good choice if you are looking for your average everyday lotion! The product costs £15 for a standard 300ml bottle.

This is a luxury product and I feel that the bottle and packaging reflects this. When I recieved the gift it was wrapped in a Molton Brown gift box which was a lovely brown/gold colour with a big ribbon tied around it. The box had been contained in a Molton Brown gift bag. This was the same brown/gold colour on the wide sides and was white on the narrow sides. The Molton Brown lettering was printed along the white sides in the brown colour. The bag was sealed with a bow at the top. I have to say the packaging was some of the nicest I have seen! I still have the bag and the box because I can't bring myself to throw them out!

The bottle is a sturdy clear plastic which means you can see exactly how much of the lotion is left! There is a dispensor on the top of the bottle (similar to a soap pump) which is the brown colour of the packaging. All of the writing on the bottle is either in the brown colour or in a lovely duck-egg green shade. The actual product is white and the combination of the colours makes the bottle look very sophisticated. The pump on the top is very easy to use and dispenses the exact right amount for moisturising your hands. This is very useful as it doesn't feel like you are wasting any of the product by using too much. The bottle is a nice size for placing next to the sink with my handwash. On the bottle it gives the usual information, website address, ingredients and the logo telling you to use the product within 12 months. Also printed on the side of the bottle is this description:
"Immerse yourself in an indulgent cocoon of white mulberry and pure essential oils. Our caring blend of skin hydrators and anti-ageing white mulberry enlivens the skin, while oils of provencal mimosa, green tea and elemi leave the hands with a luxurious crisp aroma. The white mulberry has been grown in China for thousands of years and has been traditionally used to promote a clear even skin tone."

The actual lotion itself is fantastic. It feels very smooth and is a nice consistency which isn't too runny or too thick. It is easy to smooth over the whole area of the hands and wrists. The lotion is described as "soothing" and that it certainly is! After use my skin feels particularly soft and smooth and this feeling easily lasts all day. The lotion is easily absorbed into the skin so you don't end up with lots of lotion left on your hands. With other products I do find that sometimes I have to wipe my hands clean after moisturising because my hands are a bit slimy. After having used this product for a couple of weeks I do notice the difference in my skin. Since my skin is now much softer, I don't use the product as much, meaning it lasts longer! Last week I started to use the lotion on my feet as well as my hands. It seems to work just as well and has worked really well on some dry skin I had from overuse of high heels!
I have quite sensitive skin and have had rashes from a few products in the past. This product has never caused any type of irritation to my skin.

As for the smell of the lotion I really enjoy it. I have used products from other companies which have been scented with mulberry and they always reminded me of my gran. Being in my 20's that would not be ideal for me! However this scent is a lot less musky and makes my hands smell quite fresh. The scent does last quite a while, although I cannot be sure exactly how long because I also use scented soap.
In summary this is a great lotion and really works. It is expensive but I have found that the 300ml bottle will last quite a while. For a luxury product or a gift it is an ideal purchase. After my bottle eventually runs out I will be tempted to buy another one, or drop hints to my other half around birthday time!!!
