My boyfriend and I bought two bottles of this Morrisons value anti-bacterial handwash absolutely ages ago, when I told him that we really needed some handwash in the kitchen rather than faffing around with soap. We don;t normally shop in Morrisons, but I'm glad that we did on that occasion.
The bottle (not the most exciting bottle in the world) is 500ml so pretty big for a handwash - it came in a sort-of transparent bottle (not completely clear), so you can see the blue liquid inside - useful for knowing how much is left. On the back is a list of ingredients and other information.
To use simply push down the nozzle on the top, get some of the liquid soap on your hand, get some warm water and lather together with your other hand. Clean, and rinse. It's not the most exciting handwash in the world - it is an aquatic type smell, very fresh smelling. It's certainly not chemically smelling like many cheap products are.
Although this is a cheap value product, it's a bit thicker than some cheap handwashes. However, although it isn't as thick as some more expensive brands, you really don't need a lot of it to feel like you're getting a good clean. I have to say that our first bottle lasted for absolutely ages - I am not sure how it lasted so long actually. We are now coming towards the end of our second bottle. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again if we happen to be in Morrisons when we're next looking for some handwash. I'm not sure how much it cost, but I imagine it was less than £1.
Since I'm always penny pinching, it will come as no surprise that I use value brands of handwash, unless something else is on a really good special offer. I bought this Morrisons value antibacterial handwash a few weeks back for thirty-something pence and have been very happy with it.
It comes in a 500ml opaque plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. This was the first thing that made me smile, as unlike some pump dispensers it was so easy to open - just a single half turn in the direction indicated and the pump popped up, ready to use. The label is the usual yellow Morrisons value style, so it can be easily found on the shelf. As is usual for value brands, the label contains only the necessary information such as ingredients, directions, warnings and storage information. All components of the packaging are recyclable, although the bottle itself (HDPE) is not recyclable everywhere yet. I put it in my recycling box and they take it away though. Value packaging is not the prettiest, but I actually have decorative handwash dispensers, so I usually decant my handwash into my own bottles. Certainly, if you use bottles to match your decor then value handwash is a great thing for you to buy.
The soap itself is a thick blue liquid with a very pleasant, sweetly fresh and clean scent. I really love the scent of many value toiletries (from different supermarkets); a lot of them smell really similar and I'm unsure what it actually is but it's very nice. When using this soap, I have found that if you put a but too much on your hands, it can slide off quite easily when you put your hands together to lather it. It is a little gloopy in a sense. But, if you use less then it works brilliantly. You don't need loads of it to wash your hands as it lathers up pretty well. When comparing the lather to more expensive brands, you can obviously see it's not as bubbly, but it works just fine and I don't struggle to get a decent lather at all.
My hands feel really clean and have that lovely scent on them for a while after using this, though the scent doesn't stick around for ages. Saying that, I'm a smoker and usually have my hands in turtle tanks and the like, so I wouldn't expect a value handwash to cope with all that in terms of scent. I have slightly odd skin on my hands which is prone to non specific breakouts of irritation, and has actually been flaring up the past couple of weeks, but this handwash doesn't irritate it or leave my hands feeling overly dry. I do keep a bottle of moisturiser by my handwash in the kitchen though as I really need to keep on top of it or I suffer with the itching!
I will definitely buy this again, even though I have to wash my hands a lot throughout the day it still lasted very well. It's counter productive to use a lot at one time anyway, as it ends up falling down the plughole! It has the exact type of scent I really like and is gentle enough on my funny skin. Definitely one to recommend in my eyes.
Living in a student house means that buying soap for the bathroom usually resorts to buying the cheapest possible as it is used regularly. I bought the Morrisons Value Anti-Bacterial Handwash for 35p a few weeks ago as we had just run out and the price was very good for 500ml.
The liquid soap comes in a semi-transparent bottle that is 18cm tall and 7cm in diameter. On the top there is a plastic pump dispenser and around the middle there is a large yellow and white label. The colours used on the label are the same as the rest of the Morrisons Value range, which therefore makes it very easy to distinguish. It can be found in any Morrisons store in the soap/health aisles.
The actual soap is light blue in colour and is reasonably thick in consistency. One pump's worth of the soap is more than enough to wash your hands with. The soap lathers up very well with hot and cold water, which is good as it helps to provide a good overall wash for your hands. As I always use this after using the bathroom, I am always cautious as to the effect it will have on my skin. Unlike other liquid soaps that I have used, this one does not dry out my hands and leaves them feeling slightly smooth and clean.
I don't normally use this bottle to dispense the soap as I pour it into a different bottle which is smaller and looks nicer. No-one has actually noticed the difference in this soap and the previous, which was more expensive. This shows how good this is as a soap for the price paid.
I would recommend this handwash as I have found it to be very good overall. For the price, it is exceptional value for money and cannot be faulted at all. I am going to give this handwash 4/5 as its only fault is the undesirable looking bottle, but this can be overcome by pouring it into a nicer bottle!
Thanks for reading.
