Advantages: Creamy, gives instant relief to dry hands

Disadvantages: A little expensive for such a small amount

For some unknown reason I have recently been suffering with dry, tight skin on my hands and a couple of months ago started to develop excema on several fingers. It got so bad at one point that typing became difficult as the skin on the tip of index finger was really sore. I visited my doctor who said there was little he could do other than prescribe me steroid cream and advise me to avoid stress, cheers!

The steroid cream is working though now I still have some dodgy dry, flaky skin all over my hands, not a good look. I needed a good handcream and fast. I did buy one from a well known supermarket recently which was cheap and nasty, it was thin and sunk in too quickly leaving my hands feeling no better at all. I needed something industrial strength that wouldnt disappear the moment I applied it.

Today I had a brain wave and decided to head to Superdrug to see what they had on offer, I was hoping to find a handcream with E45 in it but didnt see one, instead my eyes were attracted by a small tube by Nivea with the words SOS and concentrated on it, that I thought sounds ideal.

This tiny tube contains only 50ml of cream but it is very concentrated as is claimed. I applied a tiny amount to my fingers and could feel the relief immediately as my rough dry skin softened. Sitting here typing this my hands still feel better several hours after applying the cream, which is just as well I dont like the idea of forking out for tubes of this every single week.

The cream cost me a little under £4 which I think is expensive for a handcream but the cost is justified as it works so well to soften and relieve extra dry skin.

The cream contains calendula oil and panthenol as the active ingredients in a liquid parafin base, it has a pleasant smell and is very thick though is easily extracted from the tube and takes little effort to rub into the skin.

I would definitely buy this again and recommend it to anyone suffering with bad, dry skin. It's a little tube of wonder for a reasonable price.

Summary: A good buy
