Until a couple of months ago I never used to bother buying hand creams as I always thought that they were a complete waste of money, as you could just use an ordinary body moisturizer which would work in exactly the same way. However, I recently started to notice that my hands were feeling dryer than usual and they were also starting to look a bit old, so I decided to treat myself. Now, how does one decide which hand cream to buy, because there are hundreds out there?! I decided I wanted a hand cream for dry hands, which smelt nice and came in a medium size tube (so I could have it in my handbag) with a flip up lid (for easy application). I thought that The Nivea Smooth Nourishing hand cream met all those requirements and I also remembered my mum always using and swearing by Nivea. It was also on special offer in Boots at less than half price, reduced from £3.39 to £1.69 for 100 ml, so you really can't go wrong at that price.

The Nivea Smooth Nourishing hand cream comes in a mainly white tube with blue writing and a blue flip up lid. It contains macademia nut oil and other vitamins and claims to be fast absorbing and moisturize dry hands for up to 24 hours. It has the typical smell that most Nivea creams have with an added subtle nutty scent. It has a lovely consistency I think, in that it is neither runny or too thick, making it easy to apply and quickly absorbed. As soon as I use it, my hands instantly feel softer and smoother and look shinier, without feeling and looking greasy. I like the feel and smell of my hands once applied, so I tend to use this cream three or four times a day now, even when really not needed. I can now see that hand creams do make a difference without being a waste of money, and would definitely recommend anyone to try the Nivea Smooth Nourishing Cream!
