Nivea Smooth Nourishing Hand Cream
Advantages: Lovely product, smells nice, makes hands soft
I always keep some hand cream downstairs next to the kitchen sink. There is nothing worse than doing the washing up then having that dry hand feeling after you have finished so I always use some hand cream afterwards just to freshen up my hands. The hand cream I'm using at the moment is this Nivea smooth nourishing hand cream.
The hand cream is available to purchase from supermarkets or places like Boots and Wilkinson. It normally costs between £2 and £3 for a 100ml tube.
The packaging is typical of the Nivea brand being mainly in blue and white. It is made from plastic and the lid of the packaging sits at the bottom of the tube. This lid is a flip top lid and by simply flipping it open you are met with a nice size hole for the cream to come out of. The hole is just the perfect size, it's not too big so lots of cream comes out at once but it's not too small that the cream gets stuck either. I also love the lid being on the bottom as it makes it easier to get the cream out when you are nearing the end.
The hand cream is white in colour and has an average consistency for this type of product. The fragrance you get from this cream is exactly the same as you get with most other Nivea products and has the normal fresh scent that people associate with the brand. Nivea claim that it strengthens the skins protective barrier whilst giving pampering care to nails and cuticles.
I rub the Nivea hand cream into my hands after doing the washing up, I find it easy to work over my hands, it absorbs into the skin quite quickly and only has the sticky feeling for a minute or so before being totally absorbed. The product definitely improves the feeling of my hands after it has been applied and the dryness soon goes away. As far as the claims that it strengthens the skins protective barrier, I'm not entirely sure what it means by this, but my hands don't feel less dry after washing up even though I use this product every day.
I suffer quite badly with the skin around my nails peeling back, this can be quite annoying at times, especially if I catch it on something. Since I've been using this hand cream I have noticed the skin not sticking out as much and it has definitely improved although not totally disappeared. My nails are often given a new lease of life when using the cream too, with my cuticles being softened. The product really is a great all rounder.
I definitely recommend this Nivea smooth nourishing hand cream, it offers great value for money as it does exactly what I want a hand cream to do. Although I'm not sure if it lives up to its claims or not, it feels good when I use it, smells nice and leaves my hands nice and soft.
Summary: A nice hand cream from Nivea
