“ Brand: Nu Nale / Strengthening Cream / Type: Nail Cream / Suitable for: Nails „
Really good product. I bit my nails for years and since growing them I have deep ridges and they often peeled I've tried everything from cheap to really expensive nothings ever worked until I used this product. I am not allowed to wear any nail varnish so usual strengthner s are out the window, I use Nunale at night before going to sleep and now have very strong shiny nails. I would recommend this to everyone. You need to follow the instructions use it regularly don't wash it off too quickly and you will have strong shiny nails.
To set the scene, I've had long fingernails since I was a child and they rarely break. I manicure them myself weekly (I am a qualified nail therapist) and I like them quite long.
About 18 months ago, I whacked one with a hammer and damaged the nail bed, and that nail hasn't grown properly since. I looked it up on the internet, and it said take biotin tablets to help to heal the nail bed, so I did that, and the nail started to improve, but then started to split (and subsequently break) again. Around the same time, I broke the nails on the forefingers of both hands. Not a happy bunny!
A few years ago, someone told me about Nu-Nale cream so I bought some. The first thing that I noticed was that it contains some sort of [what I will call, because it may not be correct] plasticiser. What I mean is, it seems to leave a coating on the nail, so if I'm wearing polish, it makes it shiny, and if I'm not, and I have a split (as in my damaged nail) it seems to seal it. I haven't read this in any of the blurb, but that's what I have found.
The other thing I found is that it is really good for the skin around the nails - I find this skin gets dry and hard (very attractive!), and I made it worse by cutting it, and I'm trying to stop doing that - it softens it and helps me to leave it alone.
You are supposed to use this three times a day for the first month, then drop to twice a day for the next month, then once a day. To be honest, I have only managed three times a day a couple of times, I just forget or can't do it when I remember, but after about a month, I think I can see an improvement. (As it takes between three and six months for finger nails to grow, I can't be sure yet, and will report back at the end of the year, but my damaged nail certainly hasn't broken or flaked anymore.)
I've been putting the cream on in the morning, as part of my morning make-up routine, and I try to remember to do it before going to bed (forget some of the time).
The only thing I don't like is that when it's getting towards the end, I find I need to stand it on the lid all the time to get out enough.
It's on sale in some of the bigger branches of Boots and, I think, Superdrug, and also online, so even though it's not expensive (I think I saw it for £3.55 the other day, but can't find the receipt now, so shop around).
I have been biting my nails for as long as i can remember and i am now 28, i dont have the best diet and i have always had acrylic nails put on. I decided i was going to grow my nails as real long nails look so much nicer. i saw this advertised in a magazine years ago and i tracked it down through the maker. It can be quite hard to find in shops. But good phamacies have it and it can be bought online. I started using this twice a day on my dry nails as well as filing and trimming my cuticles and withing 1 application i promise my nails looked better. within a week of religious appliction twice a day my nails were so much stronger and longer, my nails are so much better now and i havent chnaged my diet. i have tried so many times in the past to grow my nails but have had no sucess. This is my wonder product and something i ca not live without!
I have been biting my nails for years. I tried to stop a couple of times using different methods found in magazines or on the web however they didn't work. Then once I read a very interesting article which basically said that stopping to bite your nails is just a matter of strong will. I decided to prove myself and I haven't bitten my nails in quite a while now. My nails were quite weak and brittle so I started searching for a remedy. Once I was recommended Nu Nale Nail Strenghtening Cream in Boots so I gave it a go.
It comes in a little cardboard where you will find a little tub. For nail strenghtener, this container looks quite big (30 ml) as I normally would expect something much smaller. Both of them have pink colour and the cardboard has a picture of nails in the front. I must say that it looks very old-fashioned and I am not a fan of the design.
I wasn't sure how to use it but on the instruction you can read that you should use it two to three times a day and as the condition of your nails improve, you can just use it daily, preferably just before going to bed. You just need to massage a bit of this cream into your nails and cuticles.
It has a nice, mild scent which disappears quite quickly - so you will not sense it much which I reckon isn't a bad thing. The texture is quite runny for a nail strenghtener - I would expect something really thick but I think it is OK, you won't get rid of all the cream pressing the tub once so it's fine. It has a white colour.
It is extremely easy to massage it into your nails and cuticles. I usually do it when I read something or watch a film so I don't go and wash my hands afterwards. I have been using it for five weeks three times a day and when the condition of my nails improved noticeably, I started using it once a day only.
My nails had uneven surface, they tend to split at the ends and they were soft. This conditioner made them stronger, they no longer split and are pretty hard, and their surface became pretty much even (it is still not perfect but I hope that if I use it for a couple of weeks more, it will be fine). After a week or so, I started using this nail strenghtener on my toe nails which were slightly yellow and extremely brittle from using a lot of nail varnish and nail varnish remover, and I guess a bad diet also contributed. They also became much stronger and are no longer yellow.
I have been using this nail strengthener for almost two months now and I still have quite a bit of it left in the container. The only thing I found a bit annoying is that when I started running out of it, I pressed the tub pretty hard a couple of times and quite a lot of the nail strenghtener got wasted.
I can really recommend this nail strenghtener, mine cost only £3.00 in Boots.
