PRODUCT: This hand wash is apparently packed with lots of natural stuff. The skin moisturising benefits of raspberry have been used for centuries and are dubbed a super-moisturiser because it's quickly absorbed into the skin. Raspberry is also packed full of skin enriching proteins which should leave your hands feeling moisturised and soft. The raspberry has been teamed up with delicate vanilla milk which smells delicious. The hand wash comes in a tall bottle which is rectangular shape; although this does get slight thinner towards the top. The bottle is made from clear plastic and you can clearly see the colour of the product in the bottle which is a light pink. On the front of the bottle it states the brand name of the product and also the scent of the product as well. On the back of the bottle you can find a list of ingredients and a little more information about the hand wash. This product has a natural fragrance and is vegan friendly. The bottle has a black pump lid to it which should be pushed fully down when purchasing the product. To open the bottle simply twist the pump dispenser to the right and it will pop up ready to use.
PRICE: I purchased a 250ml bottle of this from my local Boots store for £2.30
IN USE: I put my hands under the running tap to ensure they were wet first and then I pressed down once on the pump dispenser. I find that one pump on the dispenser is enough to wash your hands with. The hand wash is a very light pink colour and as I rubbed my hands together this lathered up a little although not a great deal. The hand wash has a nice consistency to it, although I do think it's slightly runnier than other hand washes I have used in the past. I could smell the deliciously sweet scent of the raspberry and milk which I thought smelt delicious. I have used the Raspberry and Milk Body Wash so I kind of knew what to expect with the scent. My hands felt as though they were getting a really good clean. I rinsed my hands off and then used some paper towels to dry them. After drying my hands they felt nice and clean and I could smell the scent from the hand wash on my hands slightly which was nice. In terms of moisturising I have to admit that I didn't seem to find the hand wash moisturising at all. IN fact my hands seemed to look rather dry about 10mins after using the hand wash. My hands didn't feel very moisturised either. I suffer from dry hands anyway, but as this product is apparently moisturising I didn't expect it to dry out my hands so much.
OVERALL: I liked this but it left my hands feeling very dry.
We quite often buy Original Source Hand Wash, as it's widely available and often on special offer in the supermarkets, Boots or Superdrug. In fact, I don't remember ever having to pay the recommended price of over 2GBP for a bottle of this; it's usually available somewhere on a '2 bottles for 2GBP' type deal.
Vanilla Milk and Raspberry is one of the fragrances we get most often, and in fact we have a bottle of this in the kitchen just now. When I first started using this hand wash, the smell was similar to a raspberry milkshake, which is not surprising given the ingredients of raspberry and vanilla milk. Recently, however, I have noticed that the smell is becoming distinctly more perfumed. I checked the bottle and although Original Source have put their own 'natural fragrance' logo on it, one of the listed ingredients is parfum. I'm not sure what the nature of this parfum is, but the smell has definitely moved away from the original milkshake scent a bit.
This hand wash comes in a 250ml bottle and it lasts quite well, especially if you don't press the pump dispenser all the way down when using the hand wash. I find that I only need to take half as much as the dispenser would give me if I pressed it right down. The hand wash lathers well even when used sparingly.
Unfortunately, liquid hand washes are not very good for the skin on my hands. I've never figured out exactly what the problem ingredient is, but for some reason, the creamier looking hand washes (which are often described as being moisturising) are the worst, and this one is no exception. After using this hand wash, the skin on my hands feels quite tight and dry and I tend to apply hand cream. We keep hand wash in the kitchen just because it's convenient to have a bottle next to the sink, but I wouldn't use this more than a couple of times a day, preferring bar soap most of the time.
All in all, this is a pleasant enough, inexpensive hand wash that lathers well. It does contain a few chemical ingredients and is not great for my skin. We tend to pick it up because it's not the worst hand wash available in the supermarkets, it's convenient and often on special offer, but it's not a favourite product.
ORIGINAL SOURCE PRODUCTS
Original Source has a range of products such as shower gels, scrubs and hand washes, all made from natural plant extracts and authentic fragrances, in their distinctive packaging, they test their own products and are all suitable for vegans.
The Vanilla Milk and Raspberry hand wash is in a translucent 250ml, trapezoid (similar to a rectangle) shape with a black push pump on the top. On the front, just like their other products they have a number with the appropriate statement - 82 British sunrises helped make one moisturising bottle of this, with their logo in the centre, followed by the fragrance/product name.
Fully recyclable packaging.
DIRECTIONS OF USE
For first time use to open the bottle, twist the dispenser then you are good to go.
If you are wanting to use your own decorative dispenser then twist the lid completely off and you can pour it in your own.
Simple wash your hands under warm/hot water, push down on the dispenser pump, with a small amount in your hands, massaging in and around your hands and rinse thoroughly.
MY RECOMMENDATION (INC. SCENT AND FEEL)
At work they regularly change the hand washes, choosing whichever is on offer and available of the time of purchase. This week we have the Vanilla Milk and Raspberry hand wash by Original Source, the pump dispenser is easy to use, it smells delicious, pure vanilla and raspberries, this is a lot more of a thick milky texture than the other gel hand washes. It doesn't lather up much at all, but feel silky smooth whilst rubbing it into your hands. Whilst dispensing; it smells strongly and beautifully of raspberry milkshake, once washed off you are left with a strong smell, but the vanilla shines through a lot more, this stunning smell lasts for quite some time.
I would recommend this hand wash if you want something to smell beautiful, smells good enough to eat, a little overpowering for my taste and doesn't leave my hands feel moisturised afterwards as as the product suggests. I personally feel that the moisturising hand washes don't make me feel as 'clean' as others, so I wouldn't personally choose this for myself.
PRICE AND AVAILABILITY
This product is available in most pharmaceutical stores and supermarkets, although it does seem to vary a lot in price, for example: Asda £1, Boots £1.15, Tesco's £2.20 etc.
(correct as of February 2014)

Liquid hand wash is what I always buy for washing my hands, I do like a bar of soap occasionally but liquid soap is my favourite way to wash them because I find it a more convenient way of washing my hands. The bars are what I buy for my little grandson because he likes to sometimes uses a bar because he uses a bar at his school.
This liquid comes inside a transparent plastic bottle and has a pump dispenser. It is easy to press this dispenser to release the liquid onto the hands. It is a baby pink colour with a rich consistency, it doesn't drip from the bottle and make a mess all over the bathroom sink. The texture is extremely soft, smooth and really creamy. It also lathers really well too and creates lots of bubbles on the hands. It feels really soft between the fingers while washing the hands too and the more you rub the hands together, the more bubbles it creates.
This one has a really nice pleasant sweet fruity fragrance to it, it has a really strong smell of the Raspberries and a hint of the vanilla and one I like quite a lot. It isn't too over powering but it is fairly strong and very apparent. It removes all traces of dirt or grime on the hands and leaves them perfectly clean. It is very easy to rinse from the hands and it leaves them feeling nice and soft. I find my hands feel fairly moisturised and not too dry compared to some other brands I have bought. This one is a gentle wash and it hasn't irritated my grandson's skin or my own skin. I have sensitive skin and this one hasn't cause any rashes etc and just been a nice gentle one.
It is a good family wash and suitable for all the family to use. It isn't a feminine one and so males can use it too, some men don't like the smell of a feminine wash but this one I think is more than suitable for males to buy. Only a small amount is needed to create a lather, I use 2 pumps and so a little goes a very long way.
The little ones only need to use half of the amount of what an adult would use, using 1 pump but we all know this anyway but if the little ones pump 2 pumps it would still be easy to rinse them in no time. My little grandson knows Grandma and Grandad use 2 pumps and he uses 1 pump and we sometimes have a laugh together when he pumps 2 for his own hands and loves to see my open mouth and surprised face because he has used 2 instead of 1 lol. Just a little game so he has fun while washing his hands to learn he has to always wash them after he has been to the toilet and to wash them before he eats.
It contains a lot of Raspberries to give the nice fragrance and they work really well with the vanilla and work really well together in my opinion. They work together to form a good moisturising hand wash. Also both ingredients work well help chapped and dry hands and are natural ingredients. I have very dry skin and these ingredients help my skin to feel a little more softer. I always use a hand cream after washing my hands because they are so dry but I have used this wash without using a hand cream and my skin is still fairly soft but not quite the softness I like my hands to feel but my grandson's skin feels extremely soft after he has washed his hands with this hand wash.
For a 250ml bottle is usually priced around £2.20 but I think I paid a £1 for it on special offer some time ago, or around the £1 mark. This one is on offer quite a lot and so worth buying while on offer to save some money and to buy it for half the price. It is extremely good value for money purchased even at the usual price but obviously better value bought cheaper. The quality is really good and I have no problems buying this one for a full price.
I cannot fault this hand wash and think it is a really nice one for all the family to use. I highly do recommend it to anyone who loves a sweet fragranced one and one which leaves the hands perfectly clean and leaves them feeling soft and moisturised. I will keep on buying this one in the future because it washes hands well and a good family liquid soap.
The bottle is also recyclable and it tells me on the bottle it is suitable for Vegans.
Also appears on Ciao under my username pinky50.
I give this one 5 stars.
Thank you for reading my review and I hope it has been of some help.
More often than not I like to buy the liquid form of hand wash rather than the soap bars. I find it far quicker and easier to wash my hands with this kind of wash and it doesn't leave the scum marks on the side of the basin. This brand is well known and a good brand.
The wash comes housed in a plastic bottle and is a pump action to pump the wash onto the hands. Easy to press the pump. The wash is quite thick and a good consistency and doesn't run. It is a pink shade and a light pink colour.
It has a nice smell of raspberries with a slight smell of vanilla, is a sweet smelling wash and a nice smell. The raspberry smell is stronger than the vanilla. It lathers really well indeed and you don't need a lot of the wash to lather it up and foam bubbles and foam on the hands. It feels soft while washing the hands too and becomes quite a creamy feel which does feel nice while washing the hands.
It removes dirt from my dirty hands when I arrive home from work on the days when I have grime on my hands from doing a dirty job at work. I always wash my hands immediately I arrive home from work because my job means my hands become really dirty at times and the grime is engrained on my skin and I like to make sure they are spotlessly clean before I sit down for dinner or hold some of my baby grandchildren who may be at my home when I arrive home from work.. This wash just dissolves the grime and removes it well indeed without me having to scrub it with a brush. I do sometimes have to use a hand brush to clean my nails if any dirt is under them and I just pump one pump of the wash onto the brush and scrub under my nails and it does remove it well indeed.
It is a mild wash which is mild enough for my grandchildren to use when they are at my home, it cleans their hands well and a gentle liquid which doesn't make their skin sore because it is a mild product and not a harsh liquid for softer skin. It does leave the skin feeling soft and I can smell the raspberry smell on my hands once they have dried.
It doesn't take long to rinse the lather from the hands and it rinses away really well indeed and only takes seconds, so the tap doesn't have to remain flowing to rinse it from the skin.
It cost around £2.30 for a 250ml bottle but it can be bought often on offer so it is best to shop around for this hand wash to get the best price possible and save some money.
This is certainly a really good buy and the way it cleans is very important to me and I have no problems with the way this wash cleanses the skin.
I will buy it again because it is a wash that cleans well indeed and leaves a nice smell of raspberries on the skin for a while after drying the hands. I recommend this product.
I rate it 5 stars.
I bought the Original Source vanilla milk & raspberry hand wash as I'm a fan of Original Source products and like to try the new scents they bring out. This was on a deal in Boots and I had to try it!
Smell & texture:
I bought this hand wash for the smell and wasn't disappointed! The scent is vanilla & raspberry but reminds me of strawberries and cream! A lovely fresh, sweet smell that isn't overpowering. I even had compliments from guests on this one! The texture is a creamy texture which is soft and easy to spread over the hands.
Cleaning power and effect on skin:
I have hands that dry out easily so I do have to be careful with the products I use. The Original Source Vanilla & Raspberry didn't dry my hands at all even though I use it several times a day. I would therefore say it's kind to sensitive skin. It also leaves hands not just smelling nice, but feeling clean which is of course a must for a hand wash!
Value for money:
I bought this at £1 a bottle from Boots on a deal but the usual price is £2.30.
I have found the bottle lasted longer than cheaper handwashes as you only need a little and the pump gives you only the right amount each time. However, I can usually easily find a handwash for £1 a bottle and can't really justify the extra cost of this one. I will buy it in future when there's a deal, which there seems to be frequently. Otherwise, I might buy it for a bathroom guests use as I think it's lovely
As I consider myself to be a savvy shopper, I will bulk purchase products when I see them on offer and as I'm a huge fan of the Original Source brand I was delighted to be able to obtain half a dozen of their hand washes for just over £1 each. I've never been a fan of the aroma of vanilla in toiletries or candles, as I find it overpowering and far too sweet. However, the Vanilla and Raspberry bottle caught my eager eye due to its uplifting colour and a sniff of the contents of the bottle had me smitten with this review discussing my experience with using it
I've always enjoyed using Original Source products, as they rarely fail to disappoint, particularly as their aroma always perfectly matches the description on the packaging. The 250 ml of hand wash is contained within an opaque sturdy bottle, which is appealing to the eye due to its unique and almost rectangular shape. I don't generally favour cluttered packaging, but in the case of Original Source it works well with their large bold text.
The delicate pale pink hand wash is effortlessly dispensed with a single press, which releases a sufficient amount for one hand wash. I always consider the Original Source brand to be superior and the consistency of the product is fairly thick although not overly so to hinder the hand washing process. I would describe the aroma as delightfully creamy with a fresh burst of uplifting raspberries, which is very authentic.
As previously mentioned, I cannot usually tolerate the scent of vanilla due to its sickly sweet aroma, but in combination with the raspberries, which we are informed witnessed 82 days of British sunrises, a very favourable aroma has been created. I glanced at the ingredients list and unlike many of the other brands of hand wash that I regularly use I noticed a number of natural ingredients such as vanilla and raspberry fruit extract. I am extremely surprised that I actually enjoyed using a product containing vanilla and as I loved the aroma so much I made an additional purchase of the matching shower cream.
The hand wash offers a rich creamy texture and when introduced to water, it lathers up well causing the delightful aroma to significantly intensify. It is easily spread over the skin and effectively lifts away any dirt and grime leaving my hands feeling sufficiently cleansed. Rinsing away is effortless and I love the fact that the refreshing aroma delicately lingers on my skin for a good while afterwards. I found that each time I washed my hands I couldn't stop sniffing them, as the stunning aroma made my mouth water. The aroma whisked me back to my childhood where I have very fond memories of my late grandfather treating me to a delicious thick milkshake in the local cafe. In addition to the hand wash being highly effective at cleansing the hands, it offers superb moisturising properties due to its glycerine contents. My skin felt as if I had used a combined hand cream and hand wash in one, which was very impressive.
In addition to the product being caring to the skin, it is also caring to animals with the brand being vegan friendly. I love the smiley face image on the reverse of the bottle, which informs us that the product is "tested on us". The hand wash should be used within 12 months of opening although this is never an issue in our household, as we generally use a bottle of hand wash within a few weeks. The only issue I experienced was that the dispensing unit would not reach to the bottom of the bottle although this seems to occur with every brand, so it's a case of removing the unit and banging on the underside of the bottle to dispense the last few drops.
Whilst I have spoken very highly of this gorgeous hand wash I would never pay the full price, which is normally around £2.30 per bottle, as I believe this to be far too expensive. However, I was fortunate enough to obtain a bottle at half price and at the time of writing, you can purchase Original Source Hand Washes from Boots for £1.15 per bottle, so now's the time to stock up.
I was intending to drop a star due to the product's price, but its positives far outweigh this negative and as a result, it receives five stars from me together with a high recommendation.
Having two bathrooms and a tendency to wash my hands a lot, I do go through quite a lot of hand wash. I don't have any preferred brands and as a lot of hand washes often feature special offers I do try lots of different varieties. One hand wash I like is this Original Source vanilla milk and raspberry.
The hand wash is widely available to buy from places such as Asda, Tesco and Boots, both online and in store. A 250ml bottle will cost around the £2 mark if it isn't on any kind of special offer.
The packaging for the hand wash is typical of the Original Source brand with its recognisable shaped bottle. It is mainly transparent so you can see how much product is left and you know when you might need to replace it. The writing has a bold typeface and contains all of the relevant information. It also has a handy pump dispenser on the top.
The pump dispenser is easy to use and I find enough hand wash comes out with a single pump, I haven't experienced any kind of jamming of the product inside the dispenser so you don't have to worry about it getting clogged up when you want to use it. The consistency of the hand wash is quite thin considering the milky name of the product, I expected it to be a little thicker. However, although being quite thin, it doesn't take much work to get a good lather on my hands and one pump definitely washes my hands adequately.
The scent to the hand wash is quite subtle, initially you can smell the fruity raspberry notes and after lathering it up the vanilla milk creamy type smell kicks in making it smell like yoghurt! After washing the hand wash off the scent does linger, but not for very long. The hand wash does leave my hands feeling clean and I feel like it moisturises them too, that's always a good thing as I hate having dry skin on my hands.
I'd definitely recommend this Original Source hand wash, the smell is devine, it cleans hands well and moisturises them too. Of course, with it being an Original Source product you know you are getting a hand wash made from natural ingredients.
Original Source is a brand that was recommended to me by a few people I knew who had used it. Starting with the Tea Tree Shower Gel, and followed by this Vanilla Milk and Raspberry Handwash.
The handwash is basically liquid soap in a pink colour, looks a bit like strawberry milk, and is contained in a plastic bottle with press down pump to get the soap out. The pump is easy to use and doesn't get clogged up or form goopy bits at the end of the nozzle even after regular use. The soap itself is soft, only a small amount is required to create lather. If you don't use it with water it does make your hands feel sticky, so this is not recommended.
The smell is the best part about the soap, it is very sweet, it smells so good you can almost taste it. More than anything the smell reminds me of strawberry ice cream with a hint of vanilla. It is a smell that will make you want to eat your own hands. The smell does not hit you immediately when you squirt the soap out, but only after you lather it up, and the smell lingers on in your hands long after washing. Original Source do a shower gel in this flavour and this is something I would highly recommend to everyone...although it may lead to a rise in cannibalism. The scent in my opinion leans towards being a more feminine scent than masculine.
The soap states that it is moisturising. While my hands feel slightly softer after use, I still find I have to use moisturiser after I wash my hands. This might just be my hands as my skin is prone to dryness. The soap so far has not caused any itching or irritation and is therefore friendly to my sensitive skin.
A 250ml bottle so far has lasted me a couple of months, using this between two to four times a day, but only a pea sized amount each time. This handwash is Vegan approved and should be available in most supermarkets.
Like a lot of this type of product, I bought it when it was on offer in Asda for £1. However, it retails at £2.20 in Asda when at full price. This hand wash comes in a 250ml container with a pump to pump the desired amount of hand wash onto your hands. It is made with 100% natural fragrance and is suitable for vegans. The pump works well and with just one pump dispenses the perfect amount of product. The hand wash has a 12 month expiry date on it, so if you see it on offer, you can buy several without worrying about the date on them which is a great money saver.
The hand wash smells lovely, your hands are left smelling creamy and fruity. After being out in the garden or doing any dirty DIY jobs, the hand wash is effective at removing all traces of dirty, but you may find you need to pump the hand wash a few times in these circumstances.
The texture of the hand wash is quite thin and a little sticky, but once lathered up with water, the product is easy to wash off your hands, and actually the slightly thinner texture means the hand wash lasts me nearly 2 months. This is with using it around 4-5 times a day.
It contains the following ingredients:
Aqua , Sodium Laureth Sulfate , Cocamidopropyl Betaine , Sodium Chloride , Glycerin , Rubus Idaeus (Raspberry) Fruit Extract , Vanilla Planifolia (Vanilla) Fruit Extract , Polyquaternium-7 , Parfum , Styrene/Acrylates Copolymer , Lactic Acid , Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate , Sodium Benzoate , Benzotriazolyl Dodecyl p-Cresol , Phenoxyethanol , CI 14700 , CI 42090.
Overall, I love this product. I wouldn't pay the retail price for it as i'm a bit tight with my money and there are cheaper hand washes out there that do just as good a job, but whenever on offer, I snap it up.
Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry Hand Wash - often on offer at £1 in supermarkets
I tend to be a big fan of Original Source products, and this is no exception. The product comes in a bottle, that is rectangular in shape (with a kind of rounded back to the bottle), which tapers toward to top of the bottle. It has a black pump action lid to the bottle like most hand soaps. I have never had issues with the soap dispensing. The bottle is clear, so you can see how much of the product is left.
This hand wash smells wonderful, and sweet. The people at Original source are known for using natural scents in their products, and the smell to this one is wonderful and fruity, not at all 'plastic' or fake. The bottle is recyclable, although as they are fussy where I live I remove the dispenser so's not to contaminate a whole wagon of recycling if it doesn't meet the stringent rules where I am based.
According to the website ' We waited 82 British Sunrises for the raspberries to become lovely and ripe' which is a fact that is repeated on the bottle.
The product itself is a wonderful smooth consistency, and lathers well. One push on the dispenser top will provide enough soap to easily wash your hands. The smell of the product is gorgeous, all fruity, and creamy - kind of like yoghurt.
I would definitely recommend this, as it's a wonderful price to pay for a hand wash that is moisturising, ans also wonderful smelling.
I like to buy hand wash for the bathroom as I feel it is much more hygienic than soap and it frequented my not just my family but friends too.
Not being particularly loyal to anyone brand I usually see what is on offer and what I like the look of, usually paying around £1 a bottle.
In Waitrose I saw the Original Source vanilla milk and raspberry hand wash. It immediately caught my eye, as the colour was bright baby pink with big bold black and dark pink writing. Another reason is that I am trying not to buy products that are tested on animals anymore and this fits the bill.
The bottle was priced at £2.10 for 250ml, however, you can often find this product cheaper in discount stores and on offer in other supermarkets so it pays to shop around.
****WHAT IT SAYS AND WHAT I THINK****
I love the writing on the front of the bottle it's says, "82 British sunrises helped make this one moisturizing bottle". It makes me smile and feel good that I have bought a more natural product and that it is British born and bred.
On the back the labeling informs you that they use 100% natural fragrance. When you use the wash you immediately smell a strong raspberry note, which is then softened by a later vanilla aroma. I can't say the smell lasts that long after you have washed and dried you hands, but as it is natural fragrance I wouldn't really expect it too.
It again tells you about waiting for the raspberries to ripen and squeezing them into a recycled bottle - another star to original source! Using recycled bottles brilliant and the fact you can recycle it again at the end of use is perfect to me.
Further information regarding the exact ingredients is listed and they give a mini guide to with pictures to make it fun and simple vegan, recyclable, natural fragrance and tested on us (meaning humans).
I use the wash numerous times a day and with my partner doing the same the bottle lasts us about a month. I tend to use just one squirt, which I find adequate to lather and wash hands from most aspects. My partner does use a couple of squirts though especially after work and he gets visibly dirty hands but it more than copes with this.
There is not much of a lather I find but this is not a problem and as it is moisturizing it helps with my dry hands from excessive washing in harsh cleaners at work.
The pump action top on the bottle is easy to use and provides enough wash each time and leaves not annoying dribbles either.
The bottle has a 12-month expiry, which is good if you wish to stock up when they are on offer!
I am really pleased with this and I will definitely be buying more and trying out there other product too!
Review maybe posted on dooyoo and ciao under the same username.
Original Source offer a range of bathroom treats including shower gel and hand wash.
The Original Source product range includes a few different hand wash products. Today, I will be discussing my use of the Vanilla and Raspberry version.
Original Source promote this hand wash as being vegan friendly. It hasn't been test on animals - only humans! They promise that the fragrance is 100% natural and has been sourced from raspberries which have been left to ripen over 82 sunrises - very interesting indeed. The result - clean and beautifully scented hands each time.
This hand wash is presented in a frosted, plastic bottle which is perfectly shaped to sit neatly on the sink edge. The bottle has the relevent product information and claims on it and it can be recycled. Like many hand washes, this bottle is complete with a convenient pump dispenser. I personally like the bottle. It looks neat and tidy in my bathroom and I can clearly see when I am running low and need to replace my hand wash.
~Price and Availability~
This hand wash is widely available online and on the highstreet in a 250ml sized bottle. Stockists include Tesco, Asda, Boots and Wilkinsons. The retail price is around £2.20 but it can often be found on offer. A shower gel in the same fragrance is also available.
In our home, we go through a lot of hand wash. I sometimes get a little obsessive with hand washing hence why I keep a regular stock to make sure I never run out. I am a fan of the Original Source range so when I spotted this hand wash reduced in Asda a few weeks ago, I bought a bottle to try. I have since bought a few more as spares and the price has went back to normal. I would recommend stocking up when they are reduced!
I chose this particular fragrance as I loved the sound of it. The hand wash itself looks like a thin cream within the bottle. We have this in our bathroom and the pink colouring of the hand wash looks lovely and girly which I like. The pump dispenser has never failed us and is easy to use by both myself, my partner and our 4 year old son which is always a bonus.
I normally use two pumps each time I use this hand wash and find this sufficient. I love every aspect of this hand wash. Whilst quite thin and quite sticky in consistency and texture, the hand wash lathers up beautifully and provides ample soft, creamy and luxurious bubbles to cleanse my hands. The fragrance is what appeals to me most and I liken it to raspberry milkshake! The initial fragrance is creamy and sweet thanks to the vanilla. Once it mixes with warm water and lathers up, the bubbles smell more fruity but still beautifully sweet. My son is keen on the scent too - it isn't too girly and is suitable for the whole family as it is quite fresh.
Once rinsed and dried, my hands look and feel clean. This hand wash is very gentle on sensitive skin and whilst it doesn't moisturise as well as a hand cream, it does soften my hands and doesn't agitate dry areas or make my hands feel tight in any way. The beautiful 'milkshake' fragrance lingers on my hands for a short while and leaves them smelling sweet and feeling refreshed.
Whilst not the cheapest of hand washes, I can highly recommend this Original Source hand wash. It is of a high quality and performs as a hand wash should - it smells absolutely divine too though may not appeal to those who aren't keen on overly sweet scents. It is natural smelling too which I appreciate. Our bottle has been used several times each day for around 3 weeks and we still have 1/3 left so it does last well. Don't let the original appearance of the consistency lead you to believe that this will run out quickly - a little certainly does go a long way.
Overall 4 stars from us!
Thanks for reading :)
Over the years I have found myself buying more and more Original Source products, simply because they are supposed to be very natural (coming from their product name: Original Source) and besides, who can resist such a nice smelling range of products? Of course, they do not contain the exact magic of my favourite Body Shop products, but those Body Shop products, may I remind you, are more often than not many times over the price of Original Source products. Original Source is a worthy alternative when you want a good natural product without having to pay a huge amount of money.
I bought this Original Source Vanilla Milk and Raspberry Hand Wash on offer at a supermarket for only a pound for one bottle of hand wash- what a bargain price for a product that is so natural and nice smelling! Most well branded hand washes do cost more than this, including some which are not as natural as this Original Source one, so I thought that it was quite good value for money. Obviously, it is not as cheap as some value hand wash brands on the market (for example supermarkets' own label brands) but the quality from the majority of those products are nowhere near the quality of Original Source body care products. I chose this one out of the other scents that I could have chosen instead, particularly because of the fact that it was 'Vanilla Milk and Raspberry' flavoured; one of my favourite scents for almost everything in the world.
The packaging has all the natural, simplistic yet effective overall feel that is present in most Original Source products; with bold writing on a bottle with a black pump that can easily be pushed downwards in order to dispense the creamy hand wash. The whole bottle gives out a rather pale pinkish glow that emphasises the vanilla milk and raspberry flavoured hand wash.
Just to say, though, that the present bottle of this I have at the moment is slightly different from the picture shown on the dooyoo page, though I have bought that design previously. The difference is not very big, it is just that on top of the Original Source label it states: "82 BRITISH SUNRISES HELPED MAKE ONE MOISTURISING BOTTLE OF THIS". It is a nice thought, though I must say that this does not really affect my opinion of the overall product.
The smell is one of the greater aspects to this hand wash- it smells delicious, exactly like the product name; Vanilla Milk and Raspberry. It is a classic; the creamy vanilla milk is accented by the delicious and refreshing scent of the raspberry. The overall scent is quite sweet, though fortunately not too sickly. The smell lingers on your hands for some time, however not for very long.
Original Source claims that this hand wash is moisturising, which is always a bonus, since I am always worried about having dry or chipped skin on my hands. After using it, I will admit that there is not a miraculous change in how moisturised my hands are; however, after several uses my hands do become quite a bit smoother and softer, which is always nice. The texture is quite smooth and creamy, and feels good when it is lathered onto your hands whilst you are washing them. My hands also feel cleansed after I used this product, which is what hand wash is for.
Altogether, I really like this hand wash from Original Source because of the delicious smell and how well it works. Also, you can also obtain this for a good price without having to loosen your purse strings too much, so I think I will be buying this product more in the future
I'm a huge fan of the Original Source products, I think that the majority of their products smell absolutely divine, and I think that they are superb quality too. I do tend to only buy their products when they are on offer though, normally one of the supermarkets or Boots will be running some sort of offer such as buy one get one free for example, and I absolutely hate it when I pay full price for something and then see it on offer the following week!
I do really like the Original Source handwashes, in fact the only one that I've tried and not actually liked has been the White Pear & Avocado Handwash. I've just recently bought and tried for the first time the Vanilla Milk & Raspberry handwash, and I absolutely love it! I'll certainly be buying this one again when it runs out.
As with most of the Original Source products this handwash has a quirky little comment about the product, this one being; ''We waited 82 British Sunrises for the raspberries to become lovely and ripe before squeezing them with Vanilla Milk for this beautifully moisturising hand wash.''
The handwash is a luxurious thick creamy consistency, and it's a gorgeous creamy pale pink colour.
It smells absolutely divine, it smells just like a raspberry milkshake. It smells absolutely delicious, and certainly good enough to eat! This leaves your hands both feeling soft and smelling sweet, and the beautiful sweet raspberry milkshake fragrance lingers on your hands for absolutely ages after washing them.
One pump of this handwash is plenty to adequately wash your hands, it lathers up really well on your hands with just a small amount of water. It is really quite gentle and it doesn't dry out your hands like some hand washes can, even with constant daily use. You can definitely feel that this is an indulgent moisturising handwash whilst you are washing your hands, and my hands actually feel quite soft and moisturised after washing them with this, I certainly don't feel the need to instantly apply hand cream.
This is an absolutely fantastic handwash, and I wouldn't hesitate to reccomend it, in fact I'm wondering why I've never discovered it before!
It's a 250ml bottle, and the regular price is around £2.20/£2.30, but as I say it will normally be on offer somewhere.
