I always have a bottle of hand wash in both my bathroom and kitchen. Although I like to keep an antibacterial hand wash in the kitchen I prefer something with a nicer fragrance in the bathroom for when people visit. I had previously purchased the Raspberry and Vanilla hand wash in the Original Source range but thought for a change I would try this White Pear and Avocado for a change.
The handwash comes in a 250ml pump action bottle and was on a half price special offer at just £1.10 in Asda recently.
The bottle is made of a clear plastic which allows you to be able to see how much of the white coloured handwash is left so you can make sure u replace it before it runs out. You can easily get the handwash out of the bottle via the black pump action dispenser which is activated the first time you turn it when it pops up. The labels on the bottle give you all the detailed information about the handwash including ingredients listings and directions for use. The bottle is also made out of recycled plastic and also has recycle instructions on the back to allow you to do your bit for the planet too.
The handwash itself has a rather thick somewhat jellified texture. You can smell the handwash as soon as you put it into your hand, it has a lovely scent which is a little unusual but a little fruity and refreshing. You only need to use one pump to give a nice lather when you wet your hands which means that the bottle lasts quite some time. It leaves my hands smelling lovely and also with the moisturising properties leaves my hands feeling soft and smooth. I would certainly recommend this handwash to anyone and would purchase it again in the future.
I'm a huge fan of the Original Source products, I think that the majority of their products smell absolutely divine, and I think that they are superb quality too. I do tend to only buy their products when they are on offer though, normally one of the supermarkets or Boots will be running some sort of offer such as buy one get one free for example. You can also sometimes pick up the Original Source products in Poundland, obviously for just £1.00 each.
I'm a big fan of the Original Source handwashes in particular, and so when I spotted this Original Source White Pear & Avocado handwash in Poundland I snapped it up. I'd never tried this particular handwash before, and I bought it without smelling it first which for me was actually a big mistake.
First the postives though:
The handwash is a luxurious thick creamy consistency, and it's a gorgeous creamy white colour.
One pump of this handwash is plenty to adequately wash your hands, it lathers up really well on your hands with just a small amount of water. It is really quite gentle and it doesn't dry out your hands like some hand washes can, even with constant daily use. It leaves your hands lovely and clean, and you can definitely feel that this is an indulgent moisturising handwash whilst you are washing your hands. My hands actually feel quite soft and moisturised after washing them with this, and I certainly don't feel the need to instantly apply hand cream.
Now for the negatives in my opinion:
The fragrance - for me the negative is the fragrance, I really, really, really dislike it. It has a very strong distinctive fragrance, which is the avocado rather than the white pear, I can't detect white pear at all in this. It's a very strange fragrance, and I find that the fragrance actually makes me feel a bit sick. My husband however says that he has no idea at all what I'm on about, and that it smells fine to him, each to their own I guess! Although this handwash does leave my hands feeling soft, it also leaves them smelling really quite odd in my opinion, and unfortunately in this case this strange fragrance lingers on my hands for absolutely ages after washing them. I find that if I catch a whiff of it later on my hands, then it still has the ability to make me feel a bit sick. I've never had such a strong reaction to a fragranced product before, obviously there's certain fragrances that I don't like, but never to this extent!
This is an absolutely fantastic handwash quality wise though, and I certainly can't fault it here. However for me the fact that I dislike the frgrance so much means that I won't be buying this particular Original Source handwash again. It comes in a 250ml bottle, and the regular price is around £2.20/£2.30, but if you shop around then you will normally find it on offer somewhere, or maybe pick it up in Poundland as I did. But I would advise you to have a little sniff in the shop first so that you don't make the same mistake that I did.
I'm really surprised that nobody has reviewed this product yet! Like all other Original Source products I've come across, I absolutely love it! (as much as one CAN love soap!)
ASDA often have Original Source products on offer for £1, so when I saw their White Pear and Avocado handwash on the £1 offer, I was delighted, but not entirely surprised! The combination of this handwash, was a new one to me!! I'd never seen these two fruits combined in a product, but I loved the smell of avocado's and the smell of white pear too, so why shouldn't they go together!
I was not left disappointed!
The scent is beautiful, and leaves my hands feeling soft and sweet smelling for ages afterwards.
An additional benefit is because of it's beautiful aroma, paired with it's bold colours and fresh appearance, my nieces and nephews just love to use it!! Anyone with kids knows how hard it can be to get children into the habit of washing their hands without being prompted, but this 250ml bottle solves the problem completely, turning handwashing from an irritating chore to actually being fun! They love washing their hands now and can be seen for some time after, smelling their hands with a little smile on their faces!
In all, a completely unique scent, and well worth the money.
Once again, Original Source have made a fab smelling, skin softening product.
