When I saw this little owl, I instantly wanted to own it!.. I thought it looked adorable and was quite a cute novelty item. But what is the point of this owl? you might wonder..
Inside this lovely owl, is some rather lovely hand cream.. but I will come onto the contents in a minute. Until then, read of my little friend and see if you cant blame me for purchasing her!.
The owl comes in a clear box, which has quite a pretty design on it of a tree with different shades of pink leaves. The box states it's a Wild Rose hand cream which is moisturising and nourishing. The lid of the box says "Moisturising owl hand cream - It's a hoot!" On each of the box sides is the effect of the tree and it's leaves. The base of the box is pink which includes the ingredients, it also contains a warning stating the usual - if in the rare event that you get a reaction to the cream... discontinue its use. Also that the product is not a toy and unsuitable for children under 36 months.
It also states that the cream is 18ml and by a company called Natural Products Ltd from London. (their website is www.npw.co.uk)
--Inside the Box--
To open the box you just take off the sticky label covering the lid's opening and lift it open. You will then find the owl sat inside. The owl is visible from the outside of the packaging so you can already see what it looks like.
My owl comes in pink, it looks exactly like the Dooyoo picture above and I think it's rather cute! I can't be the only one?? There are actually other colours available of the owl.. including grey (orange flower cream), light blue (lavender cream), and yellow (lemon verbana cream). Each different coloured owl has it's own different type of hand cream inside.
--The Hand Cream--
By turning miss owl's head (it's a screw lid) and taking it off, reveals a pot of white coloured cream. This cream is Wild Rose and it smells really nice, it does have a rose smell. When applying the cream it does not feel greasy on your hands afterwards like some other creams I have used, it also dries quite quickly and the scent of the cream does stay on your hand, making it really nice. The packaging states the cream to be moisturising and nourishing, and I really do believe the cream to be of good quality.
Also what I like about the design of the owl/pot is that once the cream has run out you will easily be able to refil it with your own cream. Therefore the owl pot will always be able to be used and it does look rather good. The bottom of the owl is flat so it is easily stood up and not rolling around. The base of the owl includes a sticker that can be easily removed - it just states that it is an 'owl hand cream of wild rose' and the same details that was on the base of the box it came in. (The ingredients and warning).
--Sounds good, but where can you purchase it from??--
I came across this little owl when searching gift sites online, I found it at find me a gift.co.uk priced at £5.95 plus there was a delivery charge on top of that of about £1-2. I decided not to purchase from there though as I had never used them before, and so I gave a quick search on Ebay where I found it for £5 plus £2 postage. I also found the bigger pot on Ebay as on Find me a gift it was a 5cm pot and from the gift shop on Ebay it was 7cm pot and so I decided to purchase it from Ebay. However, since receiving the owl and seeing that it was made by npw.co.uk - a quick look on their website tells me it is £5.95 there. I've also just looked on Amazon and also found that it is £5.50 there for the pink one, but £8.99 for the blue one.. So it's worth looking around if you do come across it and find it on any other websites.. or if you want to use your dooyoo voucher against it on Amazon ;)
As i'm sure you could tell, I really like this product. I find the cream to be really nice to use, it has a nice amount in the pot.. I like that I can always refill it up with something else when the wild rose one finishes as the pot's novelty design will not get wasted. I think the design of the owl is also cute and eye-catching and it's bound to make you smile!. If you do come across this anywhere in shops or online, I definitely would recommend it.. it would also make a great gift.
Thanks for reading my review :)
