I always seem to be buying liquid handwashes, and although I have no brand loyalty at all, I do frequently buy Palmolive products as I find them to be pretty good - and frequently on offer! This latest purchase was £1 with my usual grocery shop, and this is for a 300ml bottle.

Neutralising nasty niffs

The soap comes in a pump dispenser and the liquid inside is a very pale green colour. The handwash is antibacterial and is specially designed to help neutralise odours that your hands may pick up in the kitchen such as garlic, onion or fish. It is designed to cleanse, freshen and remove germs.

I put this in the kitchen as this is clearly the room it is designed for! The first time I used this was before cooking as I wanted to clean my hands. The lime smell is obvious straight away and is quite strong - and could almost be a little too sickly for some people I think. But I find the smell mellows nicely when you wash your hands with the soap, and I was pleased to find that this lathers quite nicely and becomes creamier than you may expect from a gel formula product. It washes away nicely and leaves hands feeling clean and fresh.

I then used this again shortly afterwards, once I had finished cooking. After washing and drying my hands I was satisfied that this has effectively masked any cooking odours, and again my hands felt fresh and clean. I was glad that the scent of this covered up any other smells, and I think this effectively does what it promises too. After use the smell of lime lingers on the hands for a short while but not for too long.

Overall I think this is a very nice hand wash which does what it promises to. The fact that it masks odours makes it ideal for the kitchen, but I think it would be suitable for the bathroom too. The scent is nice enough - although It may not be to everyone's taste - but it doesn't linger too much on the hands after use. I'm going to give this five stars as it does what it is supposed to, and at just £1 I have no complaints.
