Rio Quick Dip Acrylic Nail Extensions.
I got this set for Christmas as a gift from my mum last year and they have been brilliant, I have used the set on average eight times so making a massive saving compared to going into an actual nail salon and having my nails done at around £25 - £30 a time, this set only cost £19.99 ....
In the set you get ~
* Nail Extension tips
* Acrylic Powder
* 2-in-1 Top Coat
* 3 Stage Buffer Files
* Grit File
* Sanding Block
* Hoof Stick
* Spare Resin Brushes
* Instructional DVD
The instructions are very easy to follow and the nail tips are very easy to apply. There's no UV light in this set but it is NOT needed anyway, these nail tips rely on the resin, powder and spray activator. It's not really much more difficult than applying regular false nails and gives a much nicer and more natural finish. These tips are also much longer lasting than regular false nails.
To remove them you need to dip your fingertips in nail varnish remover and this disinterates the resin & acrylic, making them disolve off your natural nails.
I have purchased additional nail tips and a nail cutter off ebay for the bargain price of £3.49.
So back to the savings.... So far I have used it 8 times, the kit cost £19.99 = 8 x £25= £200.... Savings..... MASSIVE!!!!
After paying £25 each time I wanted a new set of nails I decided I wanted to save a few pennies, after a quick flick through the Argos catalogue I came across the 'Rio Quick Dip Acrylic Extensions', I am not trained whatsoever therefore I opted for acrylic extensions rather than sculptured acrylic nails. I figured that to buy a kit would save me money on regular beauty treatments and I wasn't disappointed.
In the kit I found acrylic powder, activator spray, 2-in-1 varnish, 3 nail files, a buffer, a set of clear acrylic tips, nail resin and nail glue however, when conducting some research I have now found that Argos have altered the kit and the nail tips are now white and they have included a cuticle remover which are two great improvements to the product.
In terms of applying the nail extensions they are so, so easy and quick to do. First of all you must glue the acrylic tips to your natural nail and file them down accordingly, then apply nail resin to the whole nail then dip the nail into the acrylic powder. Then you apply more resin over the top of the powder and spray the activator spray over the nail. The 2-in-1 varnish strengthens the nails and makes them shiny, so this product should be used after application.
Even my right hand was easy to do despite me being predominantly right handed which I found pleasantly surprising. One hand took around 25 minutes to complete and the more you carry out the process the quicker and more effecient you will become and I can honestly say that the results were amazing. They truly did look like i'd just walked out of the salon. One of the main advantages of having the kit at home despite saving yourself lots of money is that you can determine the exact shape and length for you and 'fill in' the nails when your natural nails start to grow underneath.
None of the chemicals used in the products are toxic and they do not smell as strong as professional products meaning it is perfectly safe to apply these nails indoors.
Originally I paid £19.99 for this kit which is the equivilent to one application of acrylic nails at the salon, there is everything you need in the kit and as previously opined, it is so quick and easy to use. I have just checked on the Argos website and they now have a promotion and the product is now £17.99 which is a real bargain.
I wouldn't say there were any downsides to this product, the products included in the kit are of a professional standard and you won't be disappointed with the overall results.
