Simple Vitamin Moisturising Hand Wash
Advantages: Offers thorough cleansing and moisturising properties
Disadvantages: None for me other than I would have favoured an aroma
I cannot admit to being brand loyal when it comes to hand washes as I always tend to purchase products that are on special offer where I will stock up on half a dozen or so bottles. I would previously decant all of my hand washes into china dispensers, so the appearance of packaging was never really a factor for me and my purchases were made on initially the scent followed by the price although I must admit that I tend to opt for well known brands as opposed to supermarket value products. Whilst Simple is a brand that has been around for many years, I have very little experience in using their products and it was the appealing packaging of their Kind to Skin Moisturising Hand Wash that caught my eye and this review discusses my experience with using it.
One of the reasons why I never opt for Simple is because their products are not perfumed and I prefer my toiletries to offer an aroma, particularly hand washes. The blurb on the front of the 250 ml sturdy plastic bottle, which informs us that the hand wash contains geranium, was another deciding factor for my purchase as I believed it would be delicately scented. Unfortunately, this is not the case, as had I read the information displayed on the reverse, I would have realised that the hand wash contains no perfume in addition to no colour. However, my recent home decorating exploits had caused my hands to become dry and sore and as a result, the skin on my knuckles would easily split and bleed if not adequately moisturised, so the lack of perfume was probably a good thing for me at that point in time.
The pure white good consistency hand wash was easily dispensed without the unit dripping blobs onto the sink situated below and it offered a sufficient amount for one hand wash. The wash offered a wonderfully rich and creamy texture and a good lather was created within seconds of me introducing water and thoroughly rubbing it over my hands. My decorating resulted in my hands becoming covered in emulsion, particularly as I am rather a messy worker and this was effortlessly removed in addition to any grease or grime. The hand wash was easily rinsed away without leaving any sticky residue on the surface of my skin and I suffered no dry patches or tightness, which can often be the case with some brands. Simple claims that the hand wash is moisturising due to its geranium, glycerin and borage seed oil content and I would have to agree with this claim although due to the condition of my skin I felt it necessary to apply an intensive moisturising cream.
In addition, the hand wash contains pro-vitamin B5 and vitamin E; both of which are known for their softening and smoothing properties and my skin certainly benefited from their inclusion in the product. I found the hand wash highly effective at assisting in hydrating my poor dry skin although as previously stated, I was not prepared to chance using it alone, particularly as the condition of my hands was considerably bad at the time. I suffered no adverse effects when using and taking a glance at the rather lengthy list of ingredients informs me that several moisturising oils have been used to create this highly effective hand wash, which should be used within 24 months of opening. The product has not been tested on animals and the container can be recycled once empty.
I purchased my bottle from Tesco a couple of months ago for just £1 and at the time of writing it can be purchased for £2.00, so it's always wise to keep an eye out for special offers. I can highly recommend this hand wash as I found it highly effective with both its cleansing and moisturising properties.
I hope you found my review useful and thanks for reading.
