Advantages: Hydrating, softens skin, smell, reasonable price

Disadvantages: None

I'm a big fan of Soap & Glory and one of the products that I'm loving at the minute is the 'hand food' hand cream.

I bought this a few weeks ago after seeing that it was part of a 3 for 2 offer in Boots and as it was the cheapest item that I bought I technically got it for free - that's one of the things that I love about Soap & Glory - they always have offers on. A 125ml tube of it retails at £5.00 which may seem quite expensive/a little overpriced but it really isn't - I only need a small blob for both of my hands so a tube lasts for ages and the quality is well worth paying extra for!

Soap & Glory claim that this is a non-greasy hydrating cream which softens, smoothens and soothes dry & chapped skin and they describe the scent as being 'delightful'. The hand cream comes in a very girly, eye catching tube and you can tell from first glance that it's a Soap & Glory product. The branding is great - the product name is clearly written on the front in large, easy to read font and there's also a brief product description as well as a cute little sticker-like logo which says 'fabulous'.

The ingredients list can be found on the back of the tube and amongst the lengthy list there is macademia oil, marshmallow (bizzare I know!) and shea butter. None of the ingredients have been tested on animals which is always an advantage. The tube a good size but compact enough to easily fit in my handbag without taking too much room up - a smaller, 50ml version is also available which will suit people who are always out & about.

The flip lid closes securely so there's no worries that it'll come open and make a mess and there's a hole dispenser meaning that not too much of the product comes out at once which I like as it prevents any accidental waste. As soon as I open the lid, the gorgeous smell is noticeable - not overpoweringly so, though. I find the scent really nice - girly, light and fresh and it's quite a summery kind of scent in my opinion.

Because of the marshmallow in the ingredients I was expecting it to be very sweet and candy-like, which it isn't. The sweetness is there but it's not overly sweet which I like because I think that sweet skincare products can smell a little tacky and artificial, which this doesn't. The handcream itself is a thick, white lotion with a silky smooth consistency. I need one small blob for both of my hands and it spreads over my skin easily.

It absorbs into my skin instantly leaving no greasy residue or stickiness behind and my skin feels almost instantly hydrated, nourished, silky smooth and soft. The effects are long lasting - I only need to use it 1-2 times a day and the gorgeous scent lingers for a while, too. I've been using it for a few weeks now and haven't had any irritation from it despite how sensetive my skin is - I was a little worried that because it's scented it might cause a nasty reaction but it's really gentle and nourishing.

Overall, I love this hand cream and highly recommend it. I give it a well deserved five out of five stars.
