I am the one person in the country who has not fallen in love with the Soap & Glory range of body care products finding their trademark smell both sickly sweet and old womanish at the same time. I received the On The Other Hand set as a gift, it is a chrome holder containing 250 ml pump action bottles of both Clean Days handwash and Endless Glove hand cream and I've got to say I was not delighted at receiving them but it is a nice little set.
The Clean Days handwash is not available apart from as part of the set and is described as soft, creamy and conditioning and containing pomegranate juice and blueberry extract. The handwash is a lovely rich red colour and has a thick gel like consistency which pumps out easily meaning you only need a couple of little squirts to wash your hands. The handwash smells really fruity, I can smell the pomegranate more than the blueberry and it is a smell that fills the room after you have used it. The handwash lathers up really well into a gentle lather and does a really good job of leaving my hands feeling clean and nourished.
I suffer from really dry skin on my hands so I was happy to see a hand cream included with the handwash, it is great having them both together for convenience. The Endless Glove handcream is described as being extra strength moisture forextra dry hands but I don't feel like it really lives up to its claims. The handcream is a white colour and it squirts out of the bottle easily, the problem is that it is far too thin to make a good handcream. The cream does smell lovely, a nice and fruity scent which is far more subtle than the handwash and is instantly absorbed and is ok for everyday moisturising of hands which are not too dry but when my skin is sore it doesn't make even a tiny bit of difference to their condition.
The chrome holder for the bottles is not brilliant either, it is pretty enough when new and matched my bathroom decor but after it had got wet a few times started to get rusty so you could not reuse it if you bought new bottles.
The price for this set is £8 which is fairly steep for what you get. The handwash is lovely but since the hand cream is not the best it is not a set I would bother with again.
I heard about this brand a while ago when watching a TV program. Few women were given their opinion about Body Butter from this brand. In general they choose this product as a best product ever.As I am getting easily bored about moisturiser and every sort often looking for a new body products I went to Boots to buy this amazing butter.I wasn't disappointed.I bought one of the big containers with this amazing body butter and my skin was happier then ever. This product is perfect in many ways. It is an ideal product for a dry skin.Is very rich and leaves skin soft and well moisturise without oily feeling. It's not too rich and it doesn't leaves marks on clothes like some of the products for dry skin.I am addicted to products which smells sweet and fresh.I found everything I was looking for in that product. It's smell brilliant ,leaves skin very soft and well moisturise.
I am using hand cream from Soap&Glory as well and I have exactly the same experience as with the body care products. It smell very sexy, makes hand soften. The only thing I don't like is price. It's a bit expensive but I guess that's what you need to pay if you want to feel good in your body.
I like the whole soap and glory range and so far it has never let me down! With the cold winters my hands started to get very dry and chapped and low and behold my favourite brand does hand cream too! perfect! This little tube of hand cream goes along way so dont like the size fool you about how much you get. I use this every night, it soaks into the skin really well and doesn't leave my hands feeling greasy. The only downside to this product is that it doesnt leave you havds feeling soft for very long, if you are someone who remembers to put hand cream on every day then you'll be ok, but if you miss a day then your hands will start to feel dry and chapped already, so its more of a use every day hand cream rather than just use when your hands need a quick moisture top up. Its a lovey sweet smelling item that almost smells good enough to eat (i wouldn't advise to though). Love the packaging too
It was my birthday last month and when my sister asked me what I wanted I told her that I had tried a few of the Soap and Glory products and liked them so I suggested that she could get me something else from the range. The one that she bought me was the Soap and Glory set called On The Other Hand.
As far as I can tell the Soap and Glory range is only available in Boots although it is made by the Soap and Glory Co rather than being an actual Boots product. I have already tried the Hand Food and the Heel Genius and have found them to be really high quality products so I was looking forward to trying this set.
As this was a present I had no idea of the price so I looked it up on the Boots website and found that it currently costs £8 for the set. At the moment it is one of the Christmas Gifts (with the little green parcel sticker) that form part of the three for the price of two offer that Boots does each year.
The actual gift comprises Clean Day Hand Wash and Endless Glove Hand Cream which stand side by side in an attractive chrome stand about three inches high. The idea is that you can use the hand wash to clean your hands and then use the hand cream to moisturise them. Of course having the two items together in the stand next to the sink makes it easy to look after your hands all day every day.
Clean Day Hand Wash
The hand wash comes in a clear plastic container with a pump action dispenser. The liquid inside is a rich berry red in colour and looks very luxurious.
The writing on the front of the container states 'Get fresh with somebody or just get fresh with yourself use Clean Day Hand Wash with pomegranate juice and blueberry fruit extracts'.
On the one side of the container there is a list of all the many ingredients of the hand wash and on the other side there are instructions for use - honestly! The instructions are - wash, rinse and apply hand cream - I bet you wouldn't have guessed that would you? LOL!
There is the usual warning not to get this in your eyes but to wash it out with cold water if you do.
The other thing is a note about the trials of this product which reads 'Clean Day Hand Wash was safety/efficacy tested in the UK on a really nice bunch of people who wanted to lend us a hand. (Most lent both as it's difficult to get a lather going single handed)'.
I thought that was quite amusing but that is what Soap and Glory tends to do. They produce high quality products with slightly quirky names together with an element of fun.
The hand wash is really lovely to use. The lather is thick with lots of bubbles and the fruity smell of the pomegranate and blueberry is really nice and refreshing. After use my hands were clean and fragrant so I was very impressed with this product.
The hand cream also comes in a clear plastic container with a pump action dispenser. Obviously the containers are both the same design and size so that they look smart side by side in their little chrome stand. The hand cream inside is a creamy colour and looks as though it will be nice and thick to apply to the hands.
The writing on the front of the container states 'Lady admits to being totally overwhelmed by obsession with a dizzying, marvellous, miraculous kind of Endless Glove Super Hydrating Hand Cream. 3 in 1 moisture cream mask formula with blueberry, kiwi fruit and daisy flower extracts. Extra strength moisture for extra dry hands '.
As with the hand wash on the one side of the container there is a list of all the many ingredients of the hand wash. On the other side there are instructions for use which say that this can be used as often as you like on hands, dry cuticles, legs and feet or you can use it as an overnight hand cream by wearing a pair of cotton gloves after applying at night.
Again there is the usual warning not to get this in your eyes although this is written in the usual comical Soap and Glory fashion.
The other thing is a note about the trials of this product which reads 'Clean Day Hand Wash was safety/efficacy tested in the UK on a group of veteran product panellists who coincidentally described themselves as a bunch of old hands'.
I found the hand cream really pleasant to use. It isn't as thick as the Hand Food hand cream that I love so much but it is ideal for use on a regular basis during the day after washing my hands. It has the same fruity smell that the hand wash has although this one is blueberry, kiwi fruit and daisy flower although to be fair I found that the two products smelled quite similar to one another. After use my hands felt smooth and moisturised and smelled fragrant.
I wouldn't use this one as an overnight hand cream as it is a bit light for that as far as I am concerned so I will continue to use the Hand Food at night.
I have put the chrome stand containing these two products next to the sink in my kitchen. As well as the housework I do - occasionally! - I also do some gardening and I saw and chop a lot of wood for our log burner so my hands get pretty dirty at times but this hand wash cleans my hands well and the hand cream restores them back to a sensible level of moisture. I have found the claims to be true and I do use both products regularly during the day and I am very impressed with both of them!
This made a lovely Birthday present and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a nice Christmas present for someone special.
On the other hand ...............
