Soap & Glory Wash Your Hands of It
Advantages: lovely scent, very girly bottle
Disadvantages: very expensive for what it is, and it is also quite drying on my hands when its not meant to be
At Christmas time when asked what I would like, I told my mother in law that I am partial to items in the soap and glory range, so she couldn't go far wrong with getting me something from there to unwrap. When it came to opening my Christmas presents, she had got me a little set comprising of this hand wash, alongside a pump bottle of the soap and glory hand cream which I love, and this was displayed in a little metal holder which is really handy for standing at the side of my sink looking nice.
The bottle I have is available in Boots for a cost of £5.00 for 250ml of product, which is a lot more expensive than what I would normally buy for general hand washing. I put it by the kitchen sink thinking it would be mainly me who would use this so it wouldn't get used too quickly, but my sons have both taken a liking to it and been using it as well.
The bottle is plastic, and unlike other products in the range, it is within a clear bottle so you can see the product inside. The label on the bottle is in keeping with the rest of the range, and has the familiar retro look I love about this range, and the product itself is pink in colour. The pump dispenser bottle is very effective for a handwash allowing you to dispense a reasonable amount of product for handwashing with just one squirt.
The liquid has a lovely fruity scent to it which is very different to the sweet scent from the hand food hand cream that is also in the set. It is said to contain pomnegranate juice, and is also supposed to be non drying to your skin. I suffer terribly from dry hands that crack and bleed if I am not careful, particularly around my fingers and knuckles. This wash foams really nicely, and is good at cleaning my hands. I am left with the scent of the wash on my hands for a while after using, but unfortunately this product does not live up to its claims of being non drying as I find that my skin feels tight and has dry patches between my fingers after using this product. Not the end of the world as my hand cream is there right next to it so I will remember to put some on, but I do find it a little disappointing as the product claims on the bottle it won't do this.
Overall, it is not a bad handwash, as it leaves your hands clean and with a pleasant fragrance, but it is expensive for what it is and there are cheaper washes available that smell just as good and don't have this drying effect.
Therefore, this is not a product I would re-purchase for myself, but if someone were to buy me this again then I would have no problems using it up. If you don't have problems with dry skin you might get away with this one, but I would not recommend it to anyone whose skin is sensitive like my own is when it comes to hand washes leaving them dry.
