“ Brand: Superdrug / File / Type: Emery Boards „
For me, it's hair bands and nail files!
However many of these products I seem to buy, a few weeks will pass and I can never find any, it's like there's a big black hole somewhere in my bedroom that swallows them all up and I can never find a nail file or a hair band when I need one. I think I know what I do, I will put one in each bag I own, then I will whip it out to file my nails when I am out if one has broken or snagged and then I will either leave it there or lend it to someone, but either way its very frustrating!
I recently ran out again and took that frustration with me to the shops where I again bought a few packs of these emery boards from Superdrug. They have quite a nice selection of emery boards and these are the nicest in my opinion because they have a bit of a pattern to them and look a bit more exciting than the normal boring brown ones. Its a nice nail file to have in your bag and take out in public if you need to give your nails a quick file.
What I like about these emery boards is that they are quite thick so they are easier to hold onto than thinner ones and I find that I can easily get them underneath my nail with a bit of tension between the nail and my finger meaning I can get a nice curve on my nail when I am shaping it. In my opinion, these emery boards are much nicer than the cheaper thin brown ones you can get which usually have the consistency of sand paper. These boards are much smoother and create a nice smooth line on the nail but they are still quite tough and it doesn't take long to file down a nail which is nice.
The files last for a while but it still goes a bit white with all the filing you do. Also if you use these for quite a while the printed paper on the top starts to come off a bit at the edges and then you have to move down the nail file to use that part as its hard to then file with a bit of paper that is flapping off. However, for £1.99 for a pack of two files its not too much of a stretch to purchase a new one every couple of weeks.
We have a really ncie big supermarket in our local town and these can be found in the section with all the other nail accessories so they are very easy to find.
Superdrug nail files
I was needing some new nail files and bought these in Superdrug for £1.99 for the two of them. They are available in stores nd online at www.superdrug.com.
The files come in plastic packaging which can't just be ripped open so have some scissors to hand.
When I open the packaging and take out the emery boards I see they are rounded at the edges and have a pink swirly and star pattern on a white background. The nail files are both usable on both sides which I like because I prefer these toes of emery boards rather than the type which can't be used on one side.
To use them, nails should be filed from the edge to the centre of the nail. I find that the length and shape of the emery boards makes them easy to use because they are not too long and they are chunky enough to hold them securely on my hand. Because they aren't thin and feeble feeling they don't snap easily and another thing I like about them is the fact that they don't bend; I find it difficult to shape my nails when the nail file is constantly bending because I am unable to get the shape I want.
It's easy to tell when the emery board is nearly finished because the pattern starts to come off the board and gradually it becomes plain looking. One of the things which annoys me here though is the fact that the top layer can actually come off and looks a bit like peeling paper so not the most attractive thing to carry around with me.
** what I think of them...**
These are good value for money for two emery boards working out at under £1 each. They are easy to use and good quality, and even with a fair amount of use I can expect to get about six weeks of use from each one.
For anyone wanting emery boards I would recommend these.
