Advantages: Smells nice, cheap, does the job
Disadvantages: Not particularly moisturising
The handwash in my bathroom was finally used up about a week before we went on our big shop to Tesco and in between we were using a regular bar of soap to wash our hands, but we decided to buy more handwash because it's more convenient to use. On our shop at Tesco I browsed the aisles for a cheap handwash that we could buy - no frills shopping at it's best, and ended up picking this one.
The product:
The handwash comes in a 500ml plastic bottle with a pump action top - to activate this you have to turn it around and it pops up. The liquid is quick a thick consistency - it comes out of the bottle easily enough but is not so runny that it falls off your hands and into the sink before you get the chance to rub your hands together. The honeysuckle scent is subtle and pleasant, staying on your hands for some time after washing.
The handwash does a good job at removing even quite stubborn dirt - I washed my car earlier and then put black polish on all the plastic exterior parts so my hands were quite dirty when I went to wash them earlier, and this handwash managed to get it all off without too much difficulty.
Price:
Tesco's prices seem to vary quite alot but when I bought this last week (April 2010) it was 60p for a bottle (regular price, no special offers) which I think is very decent for the amount you get, especially compared to other available products.
Things of interest/note:
- The handwash contains no soap
- The bottle is recyclable
Conclusion:
For my purposes this is a product I will continue to buy as it is perfectly adequate for the needs of my household and spending more money on a branded product would be an unnecessary waste. The handwash does claim to have moisturising qualities and I can't say I particularly found this to be true (although it didn't dry them out either) - not something that bothered me, but may be something to consider if you have very dry hands. Overall I would recommend this handwash.
