~Lilac and Silk Handwash~
This handwash is a Tesco own brand product. Tesco claim that it is suitable for the entire family as it is pH balanced and soap free. This handwash is enriched with natural extracts and added moisturisers which help leave your skin clean and soft.
This handwash is presented in very simple looking packaging. The bottle is quite chunky and made from cloudy coloured plastic. A pump dispenser is included. It is recommend that you check your local recycling to see if they accept this type of packaging. This handwash has a 24month shelf life from first use.
A 500ml bottle of this handwash retails at around 55p. It is available in most Tesco supermarkets.
During a recent weekly shop at Tesco, I spotted this handwash on offer at just 22p a bottle. You can't buy much for 22p these days so I considered it a bargain too good to pass up on. I ended up buying four bottles - two for myself and one each for my Mum and Gran. I'm not sure if Tesco are perhaps rebranding the packaging or something but I would recommend checking your local supermarket.
The packaging is very basic but is practical and perfectly useable. The lilac coloured handwash is visible through the bottle and it doesn't look garish or tacky. We have this bottle sitting in our kitchen and find this handwash perfectly suitable for cleaning our hands. There is no note of anti-bacterial claims so when handling meat, I do prefer to use my other anti-bacterial handwash.
The pump dispenser works effectively and I find two to three pumps is sufficient for cleansing my hands. The lilac liquid is quite thin compared to the more expensive handwashes but still feels substantial. It definitely isn't a luxurious and pampering handwash in my opinion but nor do I expect it to be given the price. It is pleasant to use though and lathers up fairly well. The lather created feels soft and quite silky. This handwash has a pleasant scent which is soft and floral with a sort of sweet, parma violet undertone. I would say that it is gender neutral and my fiance doesn't mind using this nor does my son.
After rinsing my hands, they look and feel nice and clean. I have dry patches on my skin so usually favour a moisturising handwash. My hands are left feeling soft after washing and whilst my dry patches do not become worse, I still need to apply a coating of hand cream or lotion to lock in moisture. This handwash is gentle too and hasn't irritated my families sensitive skin. I find that some soap free products leave my skin feeling uncomfortable but not this one. A soft, slightly sweet scent is left on my skin but not for very long.
This is a nice, everyday handwash to use but not my favourite. I prefer thicker, more luxurious handwashes but this one does the job of keeping my hands clean and refreshed. Because of the consistency, this 500ml bottle isn't likely to last as long premium branded handwashes but at the price I paid, I cannot really complain.
Thanks for reading :)
