      Very helpful

A good handwash for cleaning your hands, but not for keeping them soft and smooth.

Having been converted from a bar of soap to actual handwashes, I seem to am always having to buy more during my weekly shop. Sometimes, there are offers on some of the branded products, sometimes there aren't and on those occasions I resort to Tesco's own products. Now some I have tried and have been very pleased with, others are a different matter.

On one such occasion I happened to notie a handwash by Tesco, that had never been on the shelves on my local store before - namely tesco pure antibacterial handwash'. The packaging is plain and clear, and the soap is visible through the container, although there is a blue hint off it.

On the front of the handwash, Tesco claim this is 'especially kind for sensitive skin, perfum and colour free, dermatologically tested' It also contains 'protecting allantoin and skin conditioning provitmain B5'. This is all contained in a 250ml bottle costing around £1 in Tesco, although I think I got it slightly cheaper.

On the reverse of the product, Tesco state that this is a 'pure antibacterial handwash' as part of their Tesco Pure range. These, according to Tesco, 'have been developed to be gentle and kind.....formulated with a mild antibacterial agent to remove everyday germs and carefully selected ingredients will cleanse, protect and condition your hands, leaving you and your skin feeling cared for.'

Although my skin tends to be quite oily rather than dry, I do have quite sensitive skin and do have to be careful when using handwashes with perfume in them, however I am a frequent buyer of other perfumed handwashes such as dove, with have no effect on my sensitive skin. Nonetheless, I decided that it would be worth a try, since Tesco has designed this soap especially for those with sensitive skin.

I have been using this soap for a few weeks now, and although I feel that my hands are cleaned well after using it, I do miss the nice lingering scent on your hands, that I get with some other fragranced soaps - there is a reassurance there that they have really worked as they linger on your hands. I also miss the fact that this handwash offers no moisturisers for my hands as I wash them, and thus although I feel they are clean, I do not feel that they are as soft and smooth and product such as dove leave them. In saying that, this handwash does not claim to moisturise your hands, it just claims to protect and cleanse without any perfumes.

So, it depends what you are looking for in a handwash. If you are simply looking for a handwash to clean your hands and remove germs, then this is ideal, especially if you have sensitive skin. However, if like me you have as bit of sensitive skin, but like to have your hands feel moisturised after using a handwash, then this may not be the product for you. I will probably purchase it again, should there be no offers on the branded handwashes, as it does seem to clean well, but I will maybe keep that one in the kitchen when I want to simpy clean my hands before preparing food, and instead put some of the fragranced moisturising handwashes in the bathroom to enjoy.
