Even if you do find some, leave it where it is!

In January I noticed a big sale on The Body Shop website so bought some bits and pieces as it was too cheap to miss out on. This was one of those purchases and has now run out, two weeks ago actually. I have been meaning to review it and only just got round to doing so.

I bought this with other things and the postage and packing charge was only £3.25, which isn't bad, really is it. My order arrived quickly and was well packaged. When I opened it the smells that greeted me were lovely! I wanted to use it all at once, patience is a virtue and all that! I have been good and not opened any more than what needs to be open to be used at that time. Aren't I good!!!!

This liquid soap is really well packaged in its deep cranberry coloured bottle with its pump dispenser being an antique gold colour to match the detail on the label. There is a large label going around the outside of the bottle. There is a pattern which is obviously meant to be a stylised impression of cranberries and their leaves in antique gold on a deep red/cranberry background in this there is a antique gold coloured rectangle with the Body Shop logo, CRANBERRY HANDWASH, Sweet, fruity and festive, (also in French) and 250ml (8.4fl oz). At this point I should probably point out this is the Christmas left overs being sold off.

The back of the label says, "If this product gets in eyes, rinse with clean water." This is repeated in many languages. "Against animal testing. Support Community Trade. Organic honey from Zambia." Has a bar code, full list of ingredients, made in UK, company address, symbol for use within twelve months of opening and recyclable symbol.

The Body Shop has its own version of Fair Trade, which they call Community Trade where they buy their ingredients at a fair price and help the villages where the farmers are from. For this product they buy Zambian Honey, it's farmed using traditional methods that preserve the forest and beekeepers' way of life.

Like all of The Body Shops products it has not tested on animals, nor have the ingredients used to make it and also the companies the ingredients are bought from don't test on animals either. All good for you conscience!

The soap itself is of a reasonable consistency, not too runny yet not too firm that it is hard to get from the pump. It is similar to that of thin hair gel. It is a clear soft red almost pink colour and well scented. Not at all over powering but noticeable enough to be rather enjoyable. It smells just like cranberries not like a chemical impression of cranberries.

Using the pump dispenser is very easy and one pump worth of the soap is all you need to wash your hands really well. I must admit it does take its time when it comes to rinsing it off, or at least it seems like it does. I say seems because it coats your hands and leaves them feeling oily almost, not in a really bad way but I wasn't all that keen on the feeling it gave me.

The lovely sweet cranberry scent does get left on your hands but soon fades.

My partner and I have both noticed that our hands have become a little drier since we started using this soap so it must be down to it being a bit drying unfortunately.

I don't recommend trying this soap as it isn't as good as I have come to expect of The Body Shops products but the fact it iwas half price means it was still a bargain at £3.70 compared with the £7.50 they were originally selling this for. If I had paid full price I would have been very upset!

This is no longer offered in store or on the website but it will more than likely be back again at Christmas as I know it has been for at least the last two years. Occasionally you may find it on ebay or other sites.
