      • "I don't want my hands to smell fruity!"

      it's OK

I bought this hand cream because I loved the smell of it and I really needed to get some new hand cream so this looked perfect. The only issue is I didn't really think it through- the product stays on your hands so your hands smell really fruity which isn't ideal.

The handcream smells of crandberry and it's a lovely, sweet smell. It smells really natural too and is lovely. It comes in a little tube and you squeeze it out from the bottom. It is really easy to get out and I've never had any problems getting it out at all. I use about a pea sized amount and rub it into my hands.

It tends to take quite a while to absorb, it's quite greasy and when it eventually does absorb the smell is still there. It is nice at first but then it gets a bit much especially when I'm eating and the smell of cranberry just appears all the time, it is too much and puts me off eating.

The hand cream really does help with sore hands though, no more cracked fingers and dry skin so that's great.

I tend to put this on now at night times so I'm not likely to have the scent on me whlist I'm eating but I use different brands during the day. It does work which is really great so it gets 3 stars but it loses two for the over powering scent which follows you around. It's OK.

A really nice hand cream that matches the body butter

Leading on from my bumper pack of body shop sale items in this amazing hand cream. It is in the same christmas limited edition range, and comes in a small top down plastic container. It has a lovely dark purple colour to the design, and the product is just as fabulous as the cranberry body butter I reviewed previously.

This is a thick and rich cream, you only need to use a very small amount on each hand to ensure that you get the most benefit from this. I use it after washing up, or being outside without gloves on in the cold. It costs £5 but I got it for half price, then used a code to get £40 worth for £20 and quidco cashback, an absolute bargin.

The cream doesnt just help your skin it also helps the cuticles to grow healthily, so that it does not become sore and chapped. I find that the quick down the side of my nails is also a bit stronger and doesnt separate. My nails look good and are growing well even with painting them and generally not treating them well otherwise.

This cream leaves no grease, or any residue, so once rubbed in, you can go about your daily business. Only problem is if you get your hands wet immediately afterwards then the product can then feel a bit slimey if not completely sunk into your skin and you may loose any good effects of it.

I would recommend this at the moment as its on sale, the small and compact container fits neatly in your hand bag, its light, smells really fruity and makes your hands feel nice and soft. It goes well with the body butter so you smell the same and dont have lots of different products wafting away from you.

Cranberry joy hand cream a great product which does the job

I learnt about this product from a online review, and as I am always buying creams and toiletries I decided to purchase this product from the body shop website based on what I had read, after using I can say that I have been very happy with my purchase of The Body shops Cranberry Joy Hand Cream.

This hand cream is available in two sizes, you can either get the 30ml or the 50 ml, I decided to get the smaller one as it was the first time I had tried it and wanted to make sure I would like it before buying the big one. This product came to me in a red packaging with white snowflakes on it, it looked great making me even more eager to try it out on its arrival, it has a screw top lid, which is different to the usual flip lids I usually get and this I thought made it a little different and original.

The cream is a pale shade of pink and when applied is really refreshing, the cranberry seed oil can be noticed instantly and makes you feel great and the fact that Cranberry seed oil has loads of benefits for the skin as it is full of vitamins and anti acids this is not only a great cream but also very healthy and good for you. It takes a minute or two for it to absorb into the skin and does not leave any greasy layers afterwards, it has a soft and smooth texture which makes my hands feel really nice after and during use, also when using you can really smell the wonderful cocoa butter aroma.

The Aroma from the Cranberry joy stays on your hands for a couple of hours after use and has good staying power, and as I only use it once a day, twice at the most my small bottle lasted nearly a month. I was so happy with my purchase that I tried to get some more as I wanted the bigger size so it would last me a bit longer but when going to the body shop to buy some I was to find out they are no longer offering this product, so I am hoping they have some more before Christmas.

As you can probably tell I was extremely happy with this product and would recommend highly especially to anybody who has a problem with dry skin on there hands, my only issue was not being able to get some more after I had finished using it.

A lovely hand cream which does its job well while leaving your hands smelling great

I first started using this product after having received it as a gift at christmas. I love the body shop products, and already owned some of their other cranberry scented products, such as the body butter and fragrance oil, so I already knew how delicious it would smell. It comes in a 50ml tube, and is the perfect size to fit in your handbag.

I must say that I am always very impressed by the scent of The Body Shop products, and this is no exception. It smells fruity and christmassy, but I do not find it overpowering or overly synthetic - there is nothing worse than when your moisturiser leaves you smelling like some sort of cheap air freshener.

This hand cream is lovely and creamy, and leaves your hands feeling moisturised and soft for a reasonable length of time after application. It also leaves them with a delicate fruity smell, which I personally am a big fan of. The only thing I find about this hand cream is that it can leave your hands a bit sticky after you have just applied it, meaning that you can't do much for a few minutes until it has started to soak into your skin. On the whole, however, it is a great handcream and one that I would definitely buy myself.

      Advantages

      Disadvantages

This is a good hand cream and I would like to get more when it is available again

      WHAT IS IT?

Hand cream from The Body Shop.

      THE PACKAGING

This hand cream comes in a 50ml tube that is red with a gold lid.  The tube is very easy to squeeze hand cream out and the hole is the right size to make sure that you can always get the right amount out without wasting any.  It reminds me of Christmas and that is nice because I was gifted mine at Christmas and I like to see festive products in my bathroom to remind me of this special season.

      THE FRAGRANCE

I like the fragrance of Cranberry Joy because it is fruity, it is a lot sweeter than I thought it would be and there is no bitter smell like I thought there would be because cranberries have got quite a bitter smell.  I like the way the fragrance lasts on my hands and even an hour later I can smell it quite strong.

      WHAT I THINK

I like this hand cream very much because it is thick and rich.  The cream absorbs quite easy but sometimes it makes the skin between my fingers feel greasy and then I have to wipe the area with some tissue.

When the hand cream has absorbed there is not any residue on my skin and my hands feel softer as soon as I rub it in.  I think my nails feel stronger and when I apply some of this hand cream to my cuticles it does not take very long for them to soften and be moisturised instead of being dry and a little bit flaky like very often happens when I have been working with chemicals.

I do not get a lot of dry skin on my hands but I have seen that when I have been using bleach or hair colorants my skin does go dryer than before.  I have started to carry Cranberry Joy around in my work bag so that I can apply it when I need to to prevent my skin getting dry or being affected by the chemicals.

      ANYTHING ELSE

A 50ml tube of this hand cream costs about £5 but because of it being a Christmas product I do not know if many of the stores will have it in stock now or you might have to wait until next Christmas.

      4 Dooyoo Stars.

        Advantages

        Disadvantages

        4 stars

I love the Body Shop and I also love fruity scents so when I saw this hand cream I thought it would be ideal. Sadly, however, I have come to realise that scented hand creams are not for me.

I bought it from The Body Shop at Christmas time in quite a small tube. It cost £4 which I thought was a good price to pay and happily handed the money over. It comes in a tube just like the picture shows. I'm not sure if they sell it all year round or if it is a Christmas special, it certainly looks Christmassy from the packaging as it has a gold cap and little gold detail with the writing. It has a picture of cranberries on the front and the tube itself is a lovely rich cranberry red.

To open it you simply flip the lid and it's enough to do and this is my preferred way of opening a hand cream as it makes it easy to close it afterwards despite having cream on your hands. When I smelt this in the shop I thought it was lovely, it still is a lovely smell in fact. It's a sweet cranberry smell which is really natural smelling, you can tell it's a good sourced product.

When applying this I only use a little bit as it absorbs faster but still works efficiently. A pea sized amount is usually enough. It rubs in well and I can feel it moisturising my skin really well. Any roughness or dry skin is definitely improved by this. It is a very good hand cream in that respect. It doesn't take very long to absorb either which is really important, I dislike having to wait a long time for it to soak in.

What I don't like about it is that the smell really lingers and although I do like the smell I don't like it to stay on my hands for quite as long as it does. I feel a bit like it taints the food I eat (probably psychological) and if I have my hand near my face it suddenly is so much stronger and surprises me. I really think I have come to realise that the hand creams that don't have a fragrance are probably best for me.

I am giving it 4 stars as it is an excellent hand cream and is lovely but it isn't right for me. If you don't mind your hands smelling of a scent for a while then you may very well really like this.

A joyful Cranberry Christmas hand cream from the Body Shop

The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Hand Cream

This is another Christmas item from The Body Shop, and I was lucky enough to pick this up on online sales for £1 per tube, when compared to the normal price of £4.50 a bargain was defiantly had.

        =Sizes=
The tubes are available in 30ml and 50ml, I purchased the 50ml tube.

        =The Tube=
The tube is a traditional hand cream tube, it has a red colour with white snowflakes on the front, these snowflakes where in the Body shop Logo. The hand cream has a festive gold lid, which is a screw top lid, it can be debated that these lids are a pain to screw back on once you have hand cream on your hands, but the other side of the coin if it was a flip lid, and got knocked in your handbag, you could soon have a festive cranberry smelling handbag.

        =The Smell=
As soon as you open the lid and squeezed the tube you immediately get the smell of the cranberry, giving it the festive feel. Although cranberry products remind me of juice for easing bladder issues, the cranberry seed offers a wide range of scientific benefits to the skin, including Vitamin A and E, as well as Omega 3 and fatty acids.

        =The Use=
When I first squeezed the cream, I found it to be quite thick, I then had visions of the fact that I would be rubbing for ages for the cream to soak into my skin, but luckily this was not the case, once I rubbed my hands together the warmth and friction of the movement the cream soon soaked into my skin, all the time it had a warm pleasant smell of cranberries, and it was smooth when being rubbed in, I found it to have an even coverage, and a little certainly went a long way.

        =My Skin=
Almost immediately my skin felt smooth, it was when I looked at the tube again that I noticed that it had Shea butter as well in the cream, which is an excellent product for skin softening
Even after about 2 hours I still smelt a faint smell of the cranberries, and I found my hands to be smooth. When I was washing up I put some cream on then my rubber gloves and the warmth of the water really felt that I was having an intense rub of my hands.

        =Usage=
I tend to use hand cream about twice a day, and I do vary my hand cream so that my hands don't get use to just the one product and they become ineffective.

        =Would I recommend=
I would highly recommend these hand creams, and I can also say the Cranberry Lip balm is another 10/10 product.

        =My negative=
My only negative point would be its a Christmas only product, but defiantly worth buying and always look for a offer there's usually some floating around.

A beautiful hand cream from the Cranberry Joy range

During my time on Dooyoo quite a few members' reviews have tempted me to make purchases and as I'm a huge fan of toiletries, Graygirl's excellent review on The Body Shop's Cranberry Joy Hand Cream had me totally smitten although I must admit that I don't need much persuading! However, instead of purchasing just the hand cream from The Body Shop website, I ended up with a whole host of goodies in my online basket. I've now had the opportunity to try out this hand cream with this review discussing my thoughts.

In addition to Graygirl's positive review, it was the appearance of the festive red packaging that captured my eager eye with its touches of sparkling white snowflakes, which were displayed inside the familiar logo of The Body Shop. Whilst the hand cream is available in two sizes, namely 30ml and 50ml, I opted for the smaller size, which was listed as half price on The Body Shop's website and I received a further discount with a 40% discount code.

The hand cream neatly sits on a golden coloured screw top lid, which adds to the overall festive appeal of the packaging. Whilst this is only a minor grumble, I prefer hand creams to offer flip top lids, as it enables easier access when applying, particularly when my hands are slippery, which often results in me dropping the lid onto the floor. Despite my minor niggle the lid is easily unscrewed to reveal a small aperture to easily dispense a sufficient amount of the product, which offers a delicate pale shade of pink.

The aroma of cranberry seed oil was evident the moment the cream made contact with the surface of my skin and it would describe it as extremely uplifting and very refreshing. Whilst I was aware that cranberry seed oil offers a number of benefits to the skin, I was surprised to learn how effective it is, particularly as it is high in antioxidant vitamins A and E as well as containing a blend of omega 3 and fatty acids, which are essential for maintaining healthy skin.

When I initially dispensed the cream it appeared to be of a fairly thick consistency as it nestled on the surface of my skin, which gave me the impression that I would need to use quite a bit, but as I began to gently rub it over my hands it seemed to rapidly melt enabling it to be spread with great ease. Consequently, a little went a long way where I used an approximately a 10p size to sufficiently coat both hands and wrists. Whilst the cream offered a sufficient aroma, this was beautifully intensified as it was rubbed into my warm skin and I found the scent extremely cosy and comforting. As the cream began to absorb I was able to witness the delightful aroma of cocoa butter, which I would advise is Community Fair Trade, with its presence being clearly detected due to the soft and smooth texture of the cream.

I had anticipated the cream to be a little slow in absorbing and whilst it wasn't quite as speedy as my normal Dove hand cream, it was fully absorbed within a few minutes with no tackiness or greasy layer remaining on the surface of my skin. I am unfortunate to suffer with problematic skin on my hands, which becomes dry and itchy with the skin frequently splitting across my knuckles. My condition is frequently exacerbated during the colder weather, but I am generally able to keep it under control by applying more hand cream than I normally would. Consequently, using a new hand cream is always a little worrying as if it isn't effective enough my condition will quickly rear its ugly head.

However, I found The Body Shop's Cranberry Joy highly beneficial, as it kept my condition well under control due to its quality ingredients with my skin feeling thoroughly moisturised on both the inside and out. The surface of my skin was left feeling velvety smooth to the touch as well as appearing smooth, which is an important factor for me especially as I'm in my mid forties and I don't want my hands to be offering an old wrinkly appearance.

I favoured the fact that the refreshing aroma of cranberry delicately lingered on the surface of my skin for a couple of hours following application with the fragrance of shea butter gently filtering through. The cream offered long lasting moisturising properties with me applying a couple of times each day. As I had purchased a 30ml tube it lasted me only a couple of weeks, but lucky for me I had purchased a further four, which were intended for cracker fillers for next Christmas, so I've now dipped into these.

Unfortunately, this hand cream is not currently available on The Body Shop's website although there are many other products within the Cranberry Joy range, which are heavily discounted. Whilst this is a festive hand cream, I am a little disappointed that I cannot currently repurchase from The Body Shop, but I sure it will reappear prior to Christmas 2013. However, brand new tubes of both the 30ml and 50ml hand cream can be purchased on ebay from as little as 99p although postage and packing needs to be added into this price. I was very fortunate as with all of my discounts I paid less than a pound for each of my tubes.

Due to the reasons discussed above, I can give no less than 5 stars to Cranberry Joy Hand Cream as well as a high recommendation.

A rich moisturising hand cream that has a fruity, cranberry fragrance

I received this hand cream as a gift on Christmas Day, started using it that same evening, and have been applying it twice a day ever since. As well as loving the glorious fragrance, I am also delighted to have seen an improvement in the condition of my very dry hands - although I have to confess that I had not been paying them as much attention as I should have in recent weeks, and so I expect they were extremely glad of their Christmas treat.

The Cranberry Joy fragrance is a limited edition from The Body Shop, and features in a range of products - which include a candle, shimmer lotion, body butter, bath crystals, soap, hand wash, fragrance oil, room & body spritz, and lip balm. Although products in this particular fragrance seem to come around at Christmas time, there are currently lots on offer on eBay, and a 30ml tube is in The Body Shop sale (as of 7th January), reduced from £4 to £2.

The hand cream comes in a slender tube, which is a deep red colour, and which features a pretty design at the top depicting lots of Joyful Cranberries. The tube also is also circled with some salmon pink bands, and it has a deep gold lid. The front of the tube shows The Body Shop logo, and gives you the information that this hand cream is a 'Moisturising cream bursting with the scent of fresh berries'. It is available in two sizes, 30m and 50ml, although this will depend on which outlet you choose. My gift was the 50ml size.

The tube is designed so that it stands on its flip-open lid, which is nicely secure once it has been clicked shut. There is a small hole in the centre of the lid, and you squeeze the tube to release the cream. Because the cream is very thick, I found that I needed to use quite a firm pressure (however, I should point out that my right hand is 'in the wars' at the moment - it's painful, and a bit weaker than usual). Able-bodied (or able-handied) consumers might not need to press quite as hard. Because the lid clicks very firmly and closes the neat little tube securely, this is a product that would be easy to pop into your handbag.

The hand cream has a very thick texture, and so you only need to use a small amount. It is beautifully moisturising, and is a real pleasure to use. It has an intensely fruity, almost tangy fragrance, which is what you'd expect from cranberries - this is a tart fruit, after all. I think the scent is absolutely gorgeous, and the fragrance lasts for some time. I find that this nourishing hand cream leaves my hands feeling luxuriously soft, and although I'm not generally a fan of highly-fragranced toiletries and cosmetics, I like this one very much.

The product spreads easily, feels very comfortable on my skin, and despite its thickness it is absorbed quickly, leaving my hands feeling beautifully soft and smooth. I find the tart, fruity fragrance to be very refreshing, but if you are not a fan of fragranced toiletries then this may not be one for you.

The Body Shop's website shows a number of customer reviews, which are very complimentary about this product, and it gets a total score of 4.5 out of 5. I also like to check out MakeUpAlley's reviews of cosmetics and toiletries, and this product gets 5 out of 5 there, although there were only two reviewers.

The hand cream also comes in two other fragrances, Spiced Vanilla and Candied Ginger. I also received the Spiced Vanilla hand cream with my Christmas present, but I find the fragrance of this too sickly for my taste, and so my husband has taken it to use at work, where his hands can get dry and sore.

Cranberry Joy has a fairly long-lasting fragrance, and we both love it. Although this was part of a special range for Christmas, I wish that The Body Shop would continue to stock this throughout the year. It has such a lovely fruity fragrance that I think it would be suitable all year round.

The Body Shop is well known for its ethical values, and they are against animal testing. The tube is recyclable, and the contents are good for twelve months after opening. I'm not going to repeat the very long list of ingredients here, other than to say that this product contains ethically-sourced cocoa butter from Ghana, beeswax from Cameroon, brazil nut oil from Peru, soya oil and organic babassu oil from Brazil. If you wish, you can find the ingredients listed on The Body Shop's product page.

I have been on the lookout for a really good hand cream for a while now. My Holy Grail is Clarin's Hand and Nail Treatment Cream, but that is really expensive and so it only comes my way once in a while as a real treat. I've been using No7's Protect and Perfect Hand Cream for some years now, and while I really like that, I've been looking for something that would offer extra moisturisation. I actually prefer the Cranberry Joy, and even though I was lucky enough to win another hand cream in a pre-Christmas beauty competition, I think I will definitely be stocking up on this Body Shop hand cream.

Cranberry Joy hand cream is currently in The Body Shop's sale, where a 30ml tube is reduced from £4 to £2. There are also a selection of eBay sellers who feature this product, in either the 30ml or 50ml sizes. It is available as a single tube, as a two-tube set, as part of the set of three fragrances, and also features in a variety of gift sets. It is available in both Buy It Now, and in a number of auctions.

I think this product compares very favourably with No7's Protect & Perfect Hand Cream, but perhaps isn't as wonderful as my longed-for Clarins Hand and Nail Treatment Cream. However, I will definitely be stocking up now, and I will also be looking out for this product as next Christmas begins to draw near.

I am giving this product four stars, and only deducting one because it is not widely available during the year.

(This review is also on Ciao, under the same user name.)
