“ Brand: Time Delay / Type: Nail & Hand Cream / Suitable for: Nails & Hand / What it does: Restores, Protects „
I was lucky enough to get this Boots Time Delay Restoring Hand and Nail Cream for free a while ago when Boots were offering a £5 Time Delay voucher free with all purchases over a certain amount. I picked this hand cream because it was the only item in the range which came in at under £5, as it cost approximately £4.75. The hand cream comes in a 50 ml tube which is packages inside a white cardboard box. This is a nice way of presenting it but I think most of us would agree that a tube of hand cream doesn't really need to be boxed and so this isn't the most environmentally friendly packaging. At least it appears to be recyclable. The box describes the hand cream as being a 'light, luxurious cream' which contains 'UVA/UVB filters to protect your skin agains the visible signs of ageing' and a 'specialist skin-firming complex' which will leave hands 'feeling softer and smoother and nails conditioned'. The hand cream is a creamy colour and has a nice gentle smell which reminds me a little of almonds. It smooths on easily and feels cool and soothing on the skin. It leaves your skin feeling pleasant but I find that the effects don't last too long and it doesn't do a great deal to help really dry areas of the hands. I have to reapply this reasonably often which is a shame. I haven't noticed the skin on my hands to be any firmer, smoother or softer since I began using this, however I suppose the fact that this contains SPF8 may be helping my hands not to age. This is an average hand cream but I am only rating it at 2 stars because the price is far above average and I think it is excessive for a product that doesn't have a particularly amazing effect.
To be honest I don't really consider myself old enough to be using the Boots Time Delay range, I know they say it is best to start early but I'm sure that is just a marketing strategy! But I had a voucher for the time delay stuff a while back, and went for the hand cream as it was cheapest so I didnt have to pay anything towards it! My hands are always quite dry, a combination of washing them often, the effects of central heating and having pottery and ceramics as a hobby! So I go through a lot of hand cream and I am always on the lookout for something that does a better job! I was pleasantly suprised by the Time Delay hand cream, I have to admit I wasnt expecting it to be that good as ranges like that are usually a bit over-hyped. It is quite light and easily absorbed, but still does a good job of moisturising even very dry skin. My hands look smoother and the skin looks kind of brighter from using it, although I cant comment on whether it helps the early signs of ageing etc as I am not at that stage yet! The fragrance is quite light and pleasant, certainly not over-powering. The cream comes packaged in a nice box, and would actually make a nice gift as it looks more expensive than it is. I think it costs about £5, but it is worth looking out for special offers as Boots often have good deals on. Overall, a good investment if you have dry hands.
The ideal hand cream in an ideal hand bag sized tube. This hand cream comes in a crisp, white box and is very nicely presnted considering that is is only five pounds. The tube itself is about 50ml and a slim shape so is perfect for your hand bag. There is no mess or fuss involved as you simply unflip the lid, squirt a little onto the hands and enjoy! It is lovely to use as it is smooth, very quickly absorbed, non greasy, soothing, lightly and pleasantly fragranced and of course, highly moisturising. A big draw for me was that it has SPF 8 to help protect your skin from harmful rays. I tend to go for any skin care or make up with SPF - it can't hurt, right? I also find that huge, clunky bottles and tubs are not at all user friendly when out and about so this product is brilliant if you'd like something you can use whilst out and busy. I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at this product and will buy again. n.b. Sometimes Boots do 5 pound skin care vouchers, so look out for those if you want to try this hand cream - not a bad deal eh? :)
Time Delay Restoring Hand and Nail cream is a great product, it come in an easy squeeze long tube and literally rubs in easily and makes your hands feel soft and smooth whilst conditioning your nails at the same time. It includes SPF8 to protect your hands and also gives your hands a skin-firming complex. It also makes your hands smell lightly fragranced and fresh, I find myself wanting to just smell my hands straight after applying it. I tend to apply mine throughout the day and its great for carrying around in your handbag making your hands feel great and smooth all day long. But even if you apply it once a day you will notice the differance in both your hands and nails Its easy to apply and you can obtain this from Boots, a product well worth buying and very reasonably priced, its around £5.00 to buy!
Like so many ranges I go crazy on I always think I own everything in a range and then I'm surprised to see they've added more products to the line when I haven't been looking and like a lamb to the slaughter I spot it and next minute I'm at the till point! Well this time was no different. I've done a hand-cream review only once before because it's not something I use often and I tend to buy them with the best of intentions of using them and I don't. I chuck them in a drawer and forget to use them. I have very dry hands. I bite my nails terribly and all the skin around them. Fingerprints are none existent and the skin where they should be are dry and shiny and I can't tell you how many times I have dropped a glass through having no proper grip! lol As a qualified Beauty Therapist I know how important is to look after your hands and in this weather particularly. Not only have I had all the problems I've already listed but this time of year I've been getting hangy bits of skin on the palms of my hands and on the sides of my hands. Skin feels tight on the tops of my hands as well when I've been outdoors so I feel really justified with this purchase! What The Product Promises.... Time Delay Restoring Hand and Nail Cream smoothes onto hands to instantly firm and condition. This light, luxurious cream contains UVA/UVB filters to protect your skin against the visible signs of ageing while our specialist skin-firming complex leaves hands feeling softer and smoother and nails conditioned. The Packaging.... White box clearly stating it is a Boots Time Delay Product and inside a 50ml recyclable clear tube which is squeezy and opens at the bottom. Clearly states on the front of the the bottle again what it is and who it is by and tells me that it is SPF 8 and helps skin look younger, day by day. On the back it tells me what to expect (as I've already stated) and directions for use. You can see the cream through the bottle and its an off white colour. Directions For Use.... Massage cream into hands as required throughout the day. Verdict.... I love it! Perfection in a bottle. The consistency is great and is that of a lotion without being too wet. You need the amount of a 10p coin, if that for both hands. It goes on greasy and absorbs in around a minute leaving hands feeling incredibly soft, silky and nourished. It smells lovely too, of fruit oils but not a horrible cheap smell just really pleasant indeed. I'm not one for slapping on hand-creams and stuff but this really makes me want to use it. There's nothing fussy about it. It absorbs within the speed of knots and you can forget it's there apart from knowing your hands feel great. The overall condition of my hands has very much improved as I've been continuously using it but results are instant so you can just use it as and when required. My hands look smoother, not just feel it. They claim it helps with the visible signs of aging and I totally agree with that statement it does because wrinkly, dry hands do give away a woman's age for sure but this hydrates them and makes the skin appear fuller and plumper and skins feel much more comfortable! I love this and will be sure to buy more bottles in the future but because you don't need a lot of product it's going to last me a long while thank goodness. Recommended for anyone who appreciates a touch of luxury! Well done Boots! £5.00 per tube only in Boots.
