I bought this product back in January from one of our local pound shops and, despite using it 5 or 6 times a day I am only now coming near the end of it which just has to be good value in my opinion.
I tend to suffer from dry hands and needed something to help look after my nails (and the surrounding skin around them) so this was my reason for choice.
Let me point out straightaway that, although mine is the exact hand cream, it looks different as it comes in a good sized plastic tube shaped bottle with a flip top lid and is 75ml. It is definitely a 'girly' product because of its pale pink base and hot pink top plus the fragrance is floral and rosy which means it might not be to everyones taste.
On the front it tells me that the hand cream contains a non-greasy, quickly absorbing formula and contains alpha hydroxy a, vitamin E, keratin and stratys - does not really enlighten me I'm afraid? Vaseline claim this 'noticeably improve the condition of hands and nails' and is delivered in a multi layer moisturiser. Well, I cannot comment with the full list of ingredients provided on the reverse of the packaging ( even if I could read the tiny print!) as I am no expert, but can tell you my findings having used the hand cream for a good few months.
The cream itself is easy to apply because the hole is just the right size for dispensing just the amount I need which, for me, is just a 5p size which easily does both hands and all my nails. I have not found it to be greasy and it absorbs well into the skin and nail area in no time without leaving any coating or residue. My hands feel moisturised and my nails are looking much better plus the dryness around the cuticle areas has all but disappeared.
The only thing I am not too sure about is the smell. Don't get me wrong it is not unpleasant but is a bit too rose-smelling/ floral for me and it seems to last a good hour or so after application. I do prefer more subtle smelling hand creams but you can't have it all can you?
In conclusion, I would recommend trying this product, especially if you see it on offer because it has worked for my hands and nails.
I have the roughest hands. Its not just a bit rough, I have broken skin on my knuckles and on the parts where my fingers meet my hands and they crack and bleed and are sore. I think it comes from all the nappy changing, hand washing I do with two small kids around the house. It's not only painful, its unsightly too and so I wanted to do something about it. One of the best products I have used to combat this is this Hand and Nail Lotion from Vaseline Intensive Care.
I have been using Vaseline hand creams and lotions for a number of years now and always like the way they soften and moisturise my skin and so when it came to finding something for my hands, Vaseline was on of the first product ranges I looked at. According to Vaseline, "our hands are made up of 5 unique surfaces but because they are constantly exposed, they are prone to dryness, and require custom care.
According to the tube it says, "Healthy Hand & Nail Lotion is formulated for your hands. Its conditioning moisturisers are fast absorbing and non-greasy. It nourishes for softer palms, fingertips and knuckles, smoother cuticles and stronger nails."
The lotion comes in a little tube with a flip cap lid so what I really like about this product is that its small enough to fit in my handbag and then its there whenever I need it and is easy to get into and squeeze a bit out onto my hands. The lotion is definitely thick but not greasy at all and it really absorbs quickly into my skin. Pretty much immediately I can feel the softness and smoothness of my hands and they start to feel better and like they are not going to crack for a while either.
I've been using this cream for a number of weeks now the cream has claimed that after two weeks of use, nails will be 50% stronger. Well, I never really had a problem with my nails before but I have noticed that they don't split as quickly as they normally would as I wear my nails quite long and they seem to not split which is nice. My skin however, on my hands is definitely getting better and not as rough any more. I think I have that type of skin on my hands that will always be dry, there's probably nothing I can do about it to completely make it go away but this cream works wonders for taking the roughness away and trying to keep it at bay.
A smallish 75ml tube of this cream costs £3.41 and will last for a few weeks. I will definitely continue to use this cream and have just bought my second tube.
I work in an office based environment and as such there are colleagues that alternate between the heating and the air conditioning on an almost daily basis. My hands suffer because of this and so I like to use a hand and nail cream while at work to keep my hands in tip top condition and prevent them from drying out like they have in the past. I have sensitive skin and when the conditions are not preferential to my hands they get dry and cracked skin that can become red and very sore. I like to do what I can to keep my hands in tip top condition particularly as I talk with them lots in the day and often shake hands with people too.
Vaseline is a name that I know and trust and I like knowing that I am using products that are well known and have years of good comments behind them. This particular hand and nail lotion is one that I started using after a colleague lent me some of hers and then I picked mine up for around £2.15 last month for a 200ml bottle and this was reduced from £4.30 and so represented quite a significant saving and definitely swayed my decision. I feel that £4.30 for a bottle of hand cream is a little overpriced for Vaseline but I would definitely pay this for a Body Shop product and this one too now I have tried it out for a few weeks.
This hand and nail lotion comes provided in a large plastic bottle with a flip top lid. This is simple to open and it doesn't hurt my fingers at all to open this bottle. Once the bottle is nearing its end I will have to shake it up lots to get the cream to the bottom but that isn't a big deal for me anyway as this will probably last me for a few more months anyway as I only use it when I am at work. The liquid within this bottle is a creamy white colour and the consistency is middle of the road really. This comes out quite fast and is quite thick when I spread it around my hands. This is easy to rub in and is quickly absorbed by my hands and nails. I use this on my hands first and then ensure that I brush some around my nails too as this is advertised as strengthening nails. There is a lovely scent to this too and it definitely stays on my hand for a good 20 minutes or so.
I use this hand and nail lotion most of the time after I wash my hands at work and sometimes just throughout the day if I have been doing lots of typing just to ensure that my hands are soft and supple. This lotion definitely works wonders for my dry skin, one application of this lotion to my hands and nails leaves them feeling soft, smooth and delightfully scented. This hand lotion removes all the dryness that I encounter after using the hand wash that we have at work too which is a god send as the hand wash is usually quite cheap and not very nice for your hands, especially coupled with the rough towels that we have too. This absorbs quickly and doesn't leave me with greasy hands, this is particularly important as we have quite a lot of glass surfaces at work and so I need something that absorbs quickly to prevent me leaving greasy fingermarks everywhere for the cleaners to worry about! I would say that I use this a good 5 or 6 times a day, sometimes more, and this has been used for around 2-3 weeks at work now and I still have absolutely tons left. I am pleased with how little is needed to soften my hands. My hands are very smooth after using this but I cannot say that I have really noticed a difference in the past few weeks. My nails are strong anyway now thanks to good care so possibly this has contributed to keeping my nails strong but it is almost impossible for me to know for sure as I wasn't actively using just this on my nails.
I would definitely say that this hand and nail lotion is great. I will rate it 5/5 as I love the quality of it. This has a nice scent to it and it absorbs fast, there is no greasiness left behind and my hands look in fantastic condition. I love knowing that my nails are cared for too and stay strong also. This lotion has a nice smell to it that isn't offensive at all and because of this I am happy to continue using this until I stumble across something else that I really want to try. If you are looking for a nice smelling hand cream that works well then consider this one.
As I suffer from dry skin on my hands I have tried lots of different hand creams over the years. I wash my hands a lot during the course of the days and also do a fair amount of washing up. I normally have at least 3 in various locations such as my handbag, work drawer and bedroom. I was bought this Vaseline healthy hand and nail conditioning lotion at Christmas and have been using it at bedtime for the last couple of months.
This hand lotion comes in a pink bottle with the well known Vaseline logo on the front. The bottle I have opens with a flip top lid rather than the pump shown in the picture. It is easy to squeeze out the amount you want and I never end up with more than I can use which has happened with other hand creams.
Although a flip top does make it handy for travel I do prefer a dispenser for ease of use. The hole around the flip top does become slightly messy and need cleaning off from time to time but I also find that this happens with dispensers.
It is a good quality bottle and the shape fits nicely into your hand when using it. The bottle is solid in colour which doesn't allow you to see how much is left which is a shame as sometimes just guessing by weight can be deceptive.
I was pleased to see on the bottle that it not only 'softens hands' but also 'strengthens nails by 50%' I have been disappointed in the lack of improvement in the strength of my nails, it doesn't say how often you need to use it to gain these results but I haven't noticed any improvement. Maybe a 50% increase on very weak nails just isn't noticeable! It does however work very well as a hand lotion and keeps my hands soft. It is quickly absorbed and so doesn't leave you unable to do anything else, it also has a pleasant smell to it.
Price and Availability
The 200ml bottle I have is currently £3.79 at Boots and Superdrug, although this is quite expensive I'm happy to pay more for a good hand lotion that works.
Would I recommend?
Yes, this is a good quality hand cream but not worth buying to increase your nail strength in my experience.
From doing long hours of coursework, washing the dishes or just washing your hands, these can all leave your hands feeling dry and cracking and they weaken your nails to the point of breaking! My new years resolution was to try and grow my nails so this was a must have in my opinion!
I have a 75ml bottle to carry around in my bag, because the little bottle is small, really strong and the lid stays on properly I carry this around to put on after each of my lessons or every time I was my hands or do anything that makes my hands feel dry, the colour is really pink and girly and looks really cute in my bag. The bottle clearly lists ingredients and how to use so its good if you've got allergies like me and can't see the small writing on many other tubs! The lid is clip up and down and is really easy to get the lotion out and stays on tough in my bag so it doesn't flick open and spill everywhere! I paid one pound each for a couple of tiny bottles on offer in a local pharmacy but I would still be willing to pay up for a fiver for it but it does run out so fast and only lasts two weeks because I use it so much!
Sadly once you open this the liquid does seem to spill out, which can be very wasteful and that does make it very difficult to apply, the smell is very simple and floral but soon disappears so it doesn't really keep a smell which I don't mind too much but I do like all my products to have a nice smell to them, the lotion stays on really well, absorbs fairly quickly and isn't at all sticky but you do have to wipe it off your nails again!
I have been using this product since February, about four or five times daily so the price will begin to attack me once I run out of my bulk buy, the results do exactly what they say they would however, it promises smoother cuticles, softer hands and stronger nails and it really does do so, they are a huge relief for dry hands after and my cuticles are much easier to press down when I do my nails and they certainly have grown and become much stronger!
A cute little pink bottle easy to carry around, nice application and amazing results long term and short term, so yes I would recommend this to everyone, even if its just by the sink after washing dishes or you need stronger nail and softer hands, this is a really good product but its so expensive for people who use this a lot and so much each day so for that I will have to give it a four out of five stars!
As I work in an office, handling paperwork all day can tend to leave my hands dry on occassion, not to mention the industrial-strength handwash in the staff bathroom also leaves my hands on the drier side. Therefore I always have a tube of hand cream sitting on my desk.
I bought this Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail Conditiong Hand Lotion because I feel that Vaseline is a brand you can rely upon when it comes to products for your skin. It didn't cost the earth either, and because I only use it for work, I didn't need anything with fancy packaging that would look nice in a bathroom.
This version comes in a 75ml tube (a 200ml bottle is also available). The tube itself is coloured a baby pink, with a navy plastic flip top lid. Nothing very exciting, but all Vaseline products have fairly plain, non-descript packaging in my opinion. I like the size of the tube as it's ideal to either pop into your handbag, or like mine, sit on your desk tucked away beside my 'phone discreetly.
Handily, the bottle sits on the lid so all the hand cream will sink to the bottom, meaning it is easily dispensed even when there is not much left.
The packaging promises that this hand cream will give you softer hands, smoother cuticles and stronger nails.
The lotion itself is white in colour, and of a medium consistency. It isn't runny but it's thin enough to disperse over your entire hands quickly. It smells very perfumed but pleasantly so, although I find that the smell of it does not stay on my hands.
USE AND EFFECTIVENESS
I use this 2 or 3 times daily, and I have always found that a tiny blob is more than sufficient for each application. My hands immediately feel soft, and most importantly for me, it is absorbed into your skin quickly, so you are not sitting there with your hands feeling greasy.
I don't pay much attention to my nails or cuticles as I have never had any problem with brittle nails. My nails are pretty strong, so I cannot confirm whether this lotion really does make them stronger.
I used to use Nivea Q10 hand cream, as the advert manipulated me into thinking that this was an absolutely essential product for me to maintain young-looking hands. I guess I wouldn't have known if it had worked until I get old enough for my hands to start ageing, but I do know that its general day to day performance was no different to the performance of this cheaper hand cream from Vaseline. I much prefer this lotion - after applying my hands do feel softer and less dry.
Despite using this a few times every day, my current tube has lasted me for well over 6 months, and there is still a decent amount left.
Prices vary for this, I have found, but you can get this from anything between £1 and £3.
WOULD I BUY AGAIN?
Yes, I would. You know what you are getting when it comes to Vaseline's products and this is no exception. A good basic hand cream that's effective and keeps my hands moisturised.
I have very dry hands and my nails also suffer and when they grow longer they tend to split. I tried this vaseline hand and nail cream as I like their body moisturiser and also it was on special offer.
This cream looks like all others and smells quite flowery but not too strong. It is non greasy and when applying rub your hands togther to ensure that it is spread evenly around your nails. You shouldnt need too much more than a ten pence amount.
If you stick with the product for about two weeks you will start to notice a difference. Since I have been using it I have had no problems with my hands and my nails have been able to grow a bit longer so I can actually paint them.
The bottle is quite wide with a pink background. The lid is a flip lid and you then need to turn it upside down to get the moisturiser out. It is quite cheap for the amount of product that you get compared to other similar products.
I can recommend this product to people who want softer skin on their hands and to improve their nail strength and quality.
~~~~~~ Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail Lotion ~~~~~~
I'm a long term fan of Vaseline products, but this is one I'm not crazy about. It's not awful but it's not great! I use a lot of hand cream to keep my hands from breaking out in strange undefined itchy, scaly and cracked patches.I think everything and anything can irritate it, so I try to take care of my hands. After all, everyone sees them.
This lotion sounded good, with its promise to strengthen nails as well. I don't suffer terribly from weak, broken nails since I stopped painting them a few years back; they grow like weeds these days. But I figured nourishing my nails would be nice, since they can be a bit ridgey and my cuticles aren't brilliant!
~~~ First impressions ~~~
It comes in a pale pink 200ml bottle, with a dark blue flip up cap; different to the picture provided here. The dispensing hole is nice and small, which I like as I hate big holes, particularly with hand creams - you're never going to want a lot at one time, are you?! The bottle simply displays the product name, and states its claims to "soften hands and strengthen nails by 50%". On the back you'll find the usual information.
It contains a lot of interesting ingredients including firm favourites glycerin (for its moisturising properties), vitamin E, sunflower seed oil (more moisturising properties) and vitamin A (anti aging). It also contains cyclopentasiloxane (a light silicone which acts to coat the skin leaving it looking and feeling smooth and silky) and collagen amino acids (ensure collagen production is at optimum levels by providing the amino acids required for synthesis). Keratin is included primarily for the nail strengthening but it is also known to have anti aging properties and may tone skin and fight blemishes, so added to the milk protein (which softens and smoothes) your hands should be looking and feeling delightful by now!
The ingredients list also includes citronellol, geraniol and hexyl cinnamol for their fragrances. It does contain parabens as well.
The cream itself is also pale pink, and of a light, smooth and soft texture. It is neither thick and gloopy nor runny. When I sniff it in the bottle it smells alright. Not nice, but not gaggingly-awful either. It has quite a strong medicinal scent. When I apply it though, the scent is worse for some reason; I'm really stuck as to how to explain it, it's just strange!
~~~ Using it & results ~~~
Applying this is easy enough, the small dispensing hole stops too much running out in one go which is good. It is absorbed really fast, practically instantly, and I don't seem to need much for both my hands - it spreads quite far and seems to feel thinner in consistency when you start to rub it in. It is also completely non greasy. It does retain its light and soft texture though, and it is easy to rub into your hands. As I mentioned, the smell is strange though and after it has absorbed my skin doesn't really feel softer, or even particularly hydrated. It does feel really smooth though. If I apply some more a short time later (which I feel as if I could, as my hands don't get the supple, soft and hydrated feeling) then my hands end up feeling a bit tacky, and it doesn't absorb so well. This would indicate to me that my skin doesn't actually need any more, but I feel like it does.
The strange scent calms down a little though, and 20-30 minutes after applying it if I sniff my hands I can smell it faintly, but it smells better again. When first applied the smell is easily detectable, which is another star lost for me, as I just don't like it! I never noticed any change to my nails throughout using it, but like I said I never really had any problems with them. However they stayed just the same as ever. Perhaps a noticeable difference would be observed by someone who uses nail polish and remover all the time though, as these things can obviously dry nails out a lot.
~~~ Recommend? ~~~
Unfortunately it's a no. I liked the sound of the ingredients and in theory, this should be an excellent hand lotion. But apart from the fact it made no difference to my nails, the only benefit I observed from using it was the smoothing. My skin did not feel particularly moisturised and I wanted to apply more, but doing so left my skin sticky and feeling over loaded. This isn't an awful lotion, it's just not one that I like, and I don't feel that I got a fraction of the benefits promised by the ingredients.
And I just can't quite get to grips with the scent. It just smells a bit 'wrong' and although it gets better over time, when first applied it's not very pleasant. If it works for you though then it can be very good value, since you don't need to use a lot. I picked this up in Morrisons for just £1 a while back (I think it was on special though) so it was a bargain; if only it done something for me!
Vaseline intensive care
Where I work my hands get a lot of punishment, I work on a computer but also count a lot of coupons both laminated and paper so my hands are forever dry and I was looking for something to keep on my desk at work to counteract this, I found this product on offer at £1 and decided to give it a try.
Price and availability
I bought this from my local tesco and have also seen it in asda, you can buy it in chemists and the likes of Boots and Superdrug. You can purchase this in two sizes, 75ml for around £2 and 200ml for around £3.50 so considering I picked up a 200ml bottle for £1 I really got a good deal.
The product comes in a plastic bolttle which is supple enough to be squeezed to dispense the product, the bottle is pink with curved sides up to a navy flip top lid, within the lid is a small hole for dispensing the liquid. On the front of the bottle is the product name and a picture of a hand with a drop of the product dropping onto it, the lotion contains keratin, milk proteins and vitamin E and claims to soften hands and strengthen nails by 50%. On the back of the bottle is more details about the claim they make I.e how the lotion can complete the claim and the directions for use, it states that for best results it should be used 2-3 times a day smoothing the lotion into hands and around nails and cuticles. You also get a list of ingredients and then the information for contacting Unilever if there are any problems with the product, the product lasts 12 months.
When you open the bottle the smell of the lotion is not very strong and on squeezing the bottle to dispense if you are not careful it ends up everywhere as the liquid is very thin. If you get the right amount of product then it rubs into the hands easily however as you do generally do get too much product out of the bottle it can take a while to get it to soak into the hands. The lotion leaves the hands quite soft but to be honest it really doesn't last that long and I don't personally think it has made my nails any stronger at all. Once on your hands the smell lasts maybe half hour which is ok for me as I'm not really that keen on the smell I think it is quite a soapy smell but with a bit of an extra smell that I find difficult to explain.
I will not be buying this product again, it is not so bad that I am going to throw it away but it is not too good either, it is thin and I have dropped the liquid from my hands to my clothes many times although it does wash out without a problem. I find I have to use this a lot more than 2-3 times a day they suggest so you do seem to get through the bottle quite quick, not one I could recommend.
On my recent shopping spree, I called into my local Poundland to have a quick look. I hadn't actually seen that they sold Vaseline product but...any who, I though a Vaseline product for a pound...ermm yes! So I bought the 75ml of the healthy hand and nail conditioning lotion. I actually didn't realise that this is the same hand lotion that my friend has been using for a while, and each time she uses it, she gives me some. At the time I didn't pay any attention to what brand it was. But now I wished I had of, because it would have meant it would have been using this product much sooner!
"Healthy hand and nail conditioning hand lotion with keratin and vitamin E". So even from the front of the bottle it sounds really good and also the bottle is a lovely pink colour, so this did appeal to me! The bottle has a flip lid, which I think is very useful. Because I have tried many hand lotion where you have to screw the lid back on and with your hands covered in lotion, this can be a little tricky.
The smell of this product. Wow! I love it so much. But don't ask me to describe it. It is a sort of clean, slightly perfumed scent, that once it is on your hand isn't that strong. But you can still smell it a good while after apply this product. I think even if this product did nothing for my hands or nails, I would just use it for the gorgeous scent!
Talking...(or typing) of which, my hands and nails have improved so much since using this product. But mostly I have noticed my nails. The condition of them has become so much better and they look and feel stronger. This is probably the best thing about this product, but I also like the fact that it absorbs into your skin, very quickly. I mean there really isn't any time to wait for it to dry in, this is defiantly something I love!
I would most certainly recommend this to anyone and I would recommend this to all of my friends, if they weren't all already using it! So as I said the bottle I have it the 75ml, which as far as I know, is the smallest one. But I am really thinking of purchase the larger one the keep in my house. But the 75ml is just perfect for taking out with you and most certainly very handy for travelling.
Since I found this on Poundland.. For guess what .. A pound! I think I am going to be getting a few more in because of this harsh weather in the UK, I always find my skin dries out like....like.... raisins? It was the only thing I could thin of lol. But for some reason in heat I fall apart, so I will be using this product constantly, and so should everyone, it really is brilliant!
I started using Vaseline Intensive Care Hand & Nail Lotion because I suffer from quite brittle and weak nails. The product clearly states on the front of the bottle that it softens hands and also strengthens nails by 50% which is what attracted me to this product. I don't tend to get very dry hands but I do tend to wash my hands an awful lot which can sometimes dry out my skin.
This product claims to nourish both your hands and nails by using a unique blend of keratin and milk in turn strengthening nails by up to 50% preventing dryness and broken nails.
It also claims that by using a vitamin E enriched moisturiser it leaves cuticles soft and hands smooth to the touch. I am always drawn to any skin care product that contains vitamin E as I know it is very good for your skin. I did initially start using this product in order to strengthen my nails but it is actually a fantastic hand cream. It smells lovely and does really soften your hands and always gets rid of any dryness. It declares on the bottle that the cream is fast absorbing and non greasy. I absolutely agree that this cream is fast absorbing, it absorbs into the skin almost immediately. However, this product is very thin and could do with being a bit thicker. I do also think that the cream is slightly greasy even though it is described as non-greasy. I have used far greasier creams in the past and this wouldn't put me off using this product again in the future.
As for using this product to benefit my nails, I definitely agree that it softens the cuticle. I do still suffer with weak nails but not as badly as I did before. Therefore, I do believe that this product works. I would recommend this product.
*Vaseline Healthy Hand & Nail Conditioning Lotion*
So I'm trying to use up a lot of products , so expect a lot of product reviews coming up. So I have very dry hands at the moment so I thought I'd give a hand cream a try and being a fan of vaseline I thought i'd give this one a shot.
* Packaging / Design *
This comes in a 75 ml bottle ( I think there is a bigger one aswel). It's a samon pink bottle with the Vaseline logo on the front and with a clip cap tube and it's a squeeze tube.
*directions for use?*
Squeeze the tube and get some product on your hands and rub in in over your hands and nails and let the hand cream work it's magic, it says on the bottle that it softens hands & hardens nails up to 50% , I'm not sure if it does tho.
*my thoughts *
I have really dry hands at the moment and I have been using this for a few days but It doesn't seem to be making my hands less dry , yes they do feel softer but my hands are still dry , any suggestions anyone?
I don't like the consistency of this product as it's a bit watery for my liking , I don't know I feel that a thicker product will work better.
I got the 75ml bottle for half off and it cost me 75p , bargin!!
Yes it smells nice , clean smell and it does make your hands dry but if you have really dry skin try something different .
One of my all time favourite creams to keep in my handbag and by my bedside is Vaseline Hand and Nail Lotion.
You can either by this particular cream in a stand up pump dispenser bottle or in a tube.
The one I have is a 75ml, upside down, pale pink tube.
The top of the tube clearly shows us it's a Vaseline Intensive Care product. Beneath this it informs us it's Hand and Nail Lotion, which softens hands and cuticles and strengthens nails. This lotion, we are told on the front of the tube, contains Milk proteins and AHA, to help give you 50% stronger nails. The back of the tube tells us that Milk proteins and AHA improves nails natural moisture and flexibility, resulting in strong nails.
The lotion itself squirts out quite thin, yet not runny.
It is a baby pink in colour and has a beautiful, gentle fragrance to it.
Nothing too strong, nor overpowering just a pleasant, clean and mild scent.
It absorbs quickly within your skin, leaving it feeling fresh, smooth and smelling lovely. I don't feel an instant difference to my nails, but if I use it for a full week at least I soon notice the difference. My nails are often quite long, naturally, they grow quickly and when they get to a certain length they struggle not to bend, however when using this cream regularly they feel stronger, I can do more heavy handed things, such as playing with the twin toddlers, without worrying about them bending or snapping as they seem healthier and stronger.
It is a brilliant cream that really helps in keeping your hands and nails healthy and moisturised also, I suffer from dry skin less whilst using this cream too.
Vaseline Hand & Nail Lotion gives hands and nails the care they need everyday. The formula with a unique blend of Keratin and milk proteins strengthens nail by up to 50% preventing dryness and broken nails. With Vitamin E enriched moisturiser to leave cuticles soft and hands smooth to the touch. Healthy Hand & Nail Lotion is fast absorbing and non greasy.
I am not a daily user of lotions and potions. It would be fair to say my annual spend on these items is minimal, however, like many of us I do find the winter weather and chill factor is particularly unkind to my hands. Forgetting the rubber gloves when using cleaning products is another 'bad' habit, and one which my hands suffer over later!
It is my tendency to reach for the VIC when perhaps things have gone a little too far, and my skin is sore or my fingers cracked, particularly at the finger joints and creases, and it is painful!
Certainly I find this lotion offers quite effective relief to the problems mentioned above. I would agree the lotion is quickly absorbed, and non greasy. It takes about one minute for my hands to absorb about a level teaspoon (or so) of lotion (that's a guide of course of approx quantity - I don't literally spoon measure it!). It takes a little more to include a massage around the nails and cuticles. Sometimes I might focus on the nail area alone if my hands don't need rescuing.
Applying extra lotion quickly after the first dose is fine, provided you are prepared for the five or so minutes it will take to be absorbed. If you aren't in a hurry a little more lotion is not a bad idea. It gives a greater opportunity to massage the nail area. If you are going to need to wait five minutes for absorption, you just as well spend it on a nail massage.
The lotion is sold in a pink plastic bottle, of sensible circumference around it's girth for handling. It is quite rigid, but flexible enough to not need too much pressure to squirt the lotion out. The bottle has a flip top lid with a small hole in the centre. The hole is just the right size to help you dispense as little or as much as you need.
The smell of the lotion is pleasant, and not too strong. It's difficult to describe the smell, but it is neither sweet nor perfumed.
The lotion is equally suited to men and women. At around £3 for a 200ml bottle, it is also economically priced. The lotion is also available in a tube of 75ml (suitable for keeping in a 'roomy' handbag) for people who require a lesser amount.
It is recommended the lotion be used within twelve months of purchase.
The manufacturer recommends that "For best results use 2-3 times daily smoothing lotion into hands, and around the nails and cuticles" but I think personally that so often is rather excessive.

I have nothing negative to say about this lotion. I find it a good general purpose product that does the job effectively and at a fair price. I have no hesitation in giving it the thumbs up and a well earned 10/10
This cold weather has taken it's toll on my hands. I have tried several hand creams over the years as I always get really bad dry, cracked skin in the winter. Cold hands that get wet, however inadvertently, dry out and can lead to painful knuckles. So I perpetually have hand cream in my bag.
I think Vaseline Intensive Care Hand & Nail Lotion is my hand cream of choice. Packaged in an attractive and rather feminine pink bottle with a clear description of what the product does, this hand lotion comes with the promise of up to 50% softer skin and stronger nails.
On using it, you squeeze about a 50p sized amount into the palm of your hand and start to rub it in. It's a very light lotion, pale pink in colour, with a delicate smell which somehow manages to smell "pink" too. It is easily absorbed into the skin and, for me at least, doesn't leave my hands all greasy as some of the glycerine-based hand creams can. However, the last time I used it (last night) I had incredibly dry and cracked hands and it did sting somewhat on application. I think anything would though.
With regards to the promised nail strengthening. After using the product, my nails did indeed feel stronger - not only that, but they seemed to grow a lot quicker as well. Nice one, Vaseline!
As with other Vaseline products in the range, there are different sizes of bottles/tubes available. Right now, I have the largest size you can buy on my side table so I can apply it last thing at night before bed to give it the longest possible time to sink in. A smaller tube would be far more portable so I could use it wherever I was.
