Argos 2 Step Chrome Stepstool
by MEL0611 We have fitted wardrobes in our house and I would not want to be without them now. They are really great as a space saver and I find that as mine have built in shelves into them that I can get even more in them. On the top shelf of the wardrobe in my spare room are all of my paper work folders, you name it and it is up there. This is all ... very well but without the help of my little step ladder, I actually cannot reach any of this! I soon realised that while it was a good idea keeping it all up there, I couldn't reach any of it to get it down so I was soon to invest in a small gadget to aid me and this was the Argos 2 Step Chrome Stepstool. Here are my thoughts on the product. The stepstool as I mentioned came direct from Argos.it cost me £24.99 which I did not think was a bad price to pay but I also did not want to pay any more than this. I did have a look in a couple of other places, Homebase and B and Q but they were even pricier than the Argos version so I stuck with this and placed the order. The ladder is made from steel and the frame work is in a white colour. It is quite weighty to lift, nothing that makes it difficult and I am glad it has a certain weight to it as it means that this is not to lightweight and no sturdy. There are two steps that come with the ladder and these are black in colour. The steps are also roomy enough to accommodate your feet, this may sound silly but when you are stood on the steps for any duration of time, you need to be well balanced and so it was important that my feet fitted onto the plates of the stepladder. The ladder will open and close for storage purposes. The front of the ladder has two legs that have little rubber stoppers on so the ladder doesn't mark my carpet. Then there is a fold out leg at the back to make the ladder even sturdier. I like that the ladder folds away quite neatly. It is also very safe I have found. The ladder is great at being tucked into the side of the bottom of my wardrobe. The actual dimensions of the ladder are 97 x 48 x 11 (HxWxD) you can see that although this is a compact design it really does serve a purpose. No longer do I have to reach and stretch, but instead I am able to reach and work at a higher height. I am really pleased with this step ladder and would be happy to recommend it. The step ladder is good value for money, economises on space and is safe to use. 5 out of 5 from me Thank you for reading Read the complete review |

Argos 2 Step Chrome Stepstool
by jipp05 When I moved into my new house I originally borrowed a step ladder from my mum to help me with decorating and DIY but I found it to be too bulky and tall for my needs so I decided to invest in buying my own. As with most things my first port of call was the good old Argos catalogue. I found the Argos value step ladder for just £9.99 but ... it was out of stock. They could have ordered me one in but I wanted it there and then so I had to get the Argos 2 step chrome stepstool. It was more expensive at £24.99 but I thought of it as an investment and something that could come from house to house with me for the rest of my life. The step stool is much smaller than a step ladder and only has two steps and it measures 96.8cm at its highest point but the top step is only about a foot and a half high which was perfect for what I was wanting it for as I am quite tall but for those shorty's out there it might not be high enough for you. I find it to be the perfect height for all manner of things. When I was decorating it was just the right height for me to be able to reach the ceiling and coving with ease. It is also handy for me to be able to reach my loft opening without straining and we even used it as a seat whilst waiting for furniture to be delivered. It has rubber feet which grip my wooden floors fantastically and when it is opened and I am on it I never feel any wobbles or slippage. Although I am not very high up when on the step stool I still wouldn't like to fall off and with this I have always felt safe and secure and the safety catches make sure that if it did slip a little it wouldn't fold in on itself. The actual steps are also quite wide and my big feet fitted on them with ease. The quality was just as good as I had hoped it would be for the money. It is made from steel with the steps having a rubberised material to prevent slipping. It feels very well made and solid and not flimsy in the slightest. One of the best things about this stepstool as opposed to the ladder I originally had from my mum is just how easy it is to store away. It folds up and fits in my under stairs cupboard with ease which was important to me as storage in my house is at a premium. It also isn't all that heavy to it isn't so much of a chore to get it out and put it away again which it would have been had it been heavier. If you are in the market for a small step ladder then I can highly recommend this one. It is sturdy, safe and easy to store and has proven itself to be indispensible in my house since I bought it. Argos 2 Step Chrome Stepstool
by cha97mw When we bought our own house just over 7 years ago now and had a need for decorating rooms, we decided pretty quickly that a step ladder would be pretty helpful to do those jobs that were at height, such as putting up curtain poles, stripping wallpaper, and many other tasks. Although larger ladders can be useful, we decided as ... we are both fairly tall (I am 5ft 6 and my husband is 5ft 10) that we didn't need the extra height of another step, so this small set of foldable ladders would be ideal. The ladders fold completely flat for storage when we are not using them, and then we hang them up on the wall in the garage so they are out of the way. They are easy to get and set up when they are needed. The steps fold down, and you need to make sure that they are completely flat otherwise they may move when you stand on them. The actual steps are a ridged surface, so it is pretty necessary to wear shoes when standing on them. I have tried without, and it is really uncomfortable. The steps have rubber feet, so you can stand on different surfaces such as carpet, tiles, and laminate flooring without any worry that they will move when you are working. The curved handle at the top is useful as it rests at around knee height and serves as a reminder not to step too far forwards. They are pretty easy to maintain. A quick wipe gets most debris off, although ours seem to have some splashes of dried on emulsion on them. I find these pretty indispensable. I use them for many jobs: - getting into the loft (before we bought a proper ladder) - painting walls - cleaning windows - putting up christmas decorations - clearing on top of wardrobes and wall units - chopping climbing plants outside in the garden - cleaning the guttering on the garage - reaching the back of my kitchen cupboards - hiding stuff at the top of my built in wardrobe from the kids. At £24.99, these are an inexpensive purchase and they are likely to last us forever with correct use and maintenance. Read the complete review |
