      Advantages

      Disadvantages

far better off with a sledgehammer.

Firstly I don't like this product at all and really regret ever purchasing it. A couple of summers ago I had a contract to put in nearly 350 fence posts around a music festival site for use as sign posts. Foolishly I purchased this thinking it would make the job easier. Believe me it didn't and after around 30 or so posts it was resigned to the van. If your are physically capable of swinging a 10 or 14lb sledge hammer half decently opt for that option instead. It is far quicker and hassle free compared to using this unwieldy beast of an item.

On the plus side this post rammer is incredibly well made and sturdy and will handle up to a 6 inch post. It has a tubular steel body and the top is made of re-inforced steel. It also has 2 handles which run down either side of the ram. These handle are made from the same steel as the rest of the ram. They have no form of grip on them and your hands will take a real battering even while wearing gloves. The ram measures 28 inches long. The long length is meant to make the ram easier to use but I just found it awkward. It is also pretty heavy weighing in at nearly 15kg. The weight certainly does pack a punch but makes it very cumbersome indeed. Fine for a few posts but certainly not for any more.

It was also very expensive at around the £65 mark. Buy a decent sledge hammer for around £25 and treat yourself to a nice meal with the other £40 instead.
