A very useful set to own if you wear glasses, have jewellery with small screws or make dolls houses.

Both myself and my husband are glasses wearers. I also have a bit of a hobby doing up dolls houses, and for these two very good reasons we've always found it a great idea to keep a set of these precision screwdrivers in the house.

This Set of screwdrivers comprises 7 pieces in a box. You get the following:

      0.6mm
      1mm
      1.4mm
      1.8mm
      2mm
      2.5mm
      Phillips Blade Number 0

These are considered as being jeweller's screwdrivers, but they're great for any small work you might do to be honest. Each is silver in colour and all are designed for delicate fine work depending on the head size. This makes them absolutely perfect for doing up the tiny screws that hold pairs of glasses together, or for putting in the similarly tiny screws when putting up dolls house door hinges and similar things.

Each screwdriver is just under 10cm long, and has a ridged handle to give you extra grip. They also have a hexagonal head that revolves which means that you can put this against your palm and then turn the body and blade with your fingertips giving you a much finer control than you'd be able to get with just turning it by fingertip only.

This is another tool which we've had for quite a long time, and again, I'm not sure what we paid. They were fairly expensive however, but I do believe that they were worth purchasing as they are incredibly useful and have lasted a very long time. At the moment, these retail around £60-65.

In terms of wear and tear, the smallest one which we have (0.6mm) is now no longer very useable as the blade has sheered in half, but it's not one I want to use often so it's not bothered me not having it as it were. The reason it's damaged is because although these are hardened and tempered steel this is the finest of the set and as such is also pretty delicate - can't recall how it got damaged but no doubt either hubby or myself did something daft and over did the pressure to break it. Other than this one damaged blade, the others are all just as serviceable as they ever were.

I would recommend these, however I would say keep them away from kids and people who don't know how delicate they are as despite being small, they're not a toy and can do damage to someone - they also can BE damaged themselves fairly easily if wrongly used and that would be a waste of money.
