Ted Baker Large Bow Ikon Bag
by jjrose
I received this Ted Baker Large Bow Ikon bag as a present this Christmas together with the matching wash bag. As soon as I open the wrapping, I know I'm gonna love the present and that I will get a lot of use out of this bag. I have seen Ted Baker shopper / bag ranges in the local John Lewis for a long time now but resisted buying them ... because for one, I don't really need any more bags, and for two, I should waste money on things I do really need. However, receiving this as a present is very welcoming.
The bag I have received as a present is the same as the one shown in the picture above, but with a different colour scheme. My shopper is white/ cream colour in the body with the black bow. I am also aware of various colour schemes these bags come in, I have seen a coral coloured one as well as black body/ white bow and a baby pink one. So, the Ted baker lovers are spoilt for choice really. From my research, these shoppers are retailed at prices ranging from £20.00 to £39.00, depending on where you purchase it from and the availability of your favourite colour scheme.
As for the shopper itself, the material is PVC/ hard plastic that is quite obvious from the looks alone. The advantage of this material is it is very easy to clean, water-proof and remains sturdy if I put a lot of things inside. However, the drawback of this PVC material is that sometimes, the sharp edges poke into my ribs if I am carrying this bag on my shoulder, and it can be a bit cumbersome.
The bag's dimensions are Width 37cm x Height 37cm x Depth 13cm, and speaking from my experience, it can hold a lot of things. It comes in quite handy for a student, because it fits a lot of A4 files/ folders and I can use this double as a bag and a stylish accessories to go with my outfit. It also contains an internal zipper for small items such as keys and mobile phones. The only thing I have to say is that it is not the safest bag to use if you are travelling because it doesn't have a zipper to hide all the important items such as purses.
Overall, I love this shopper and I have a lot of use out of it. It is very stylish and iconic, notwithstanding the stylish 'Ted Baker' script printed at the front. When the summer truly comes around, I imagine this shopper will make a great beach bag for a day splashing and bathing in the sun. Recommended for anyone who wants something practical yet stylish at the same time.
Thank you very much for reading and reviewing. :) x Read the complete review |

Ted Baker Large Bow Ikon Bag
by jade1517
I bought this bag, when it first came out a few years back, when it was only sold in the colour cream and black. I absolutely loved this bag, as i was taking it to college at the time; it was large enough to carry all my books around and looked incredibly stylish, i could not have asked much more.
The bag is made from a cream ... plastic material with a black bow on the front, along the side it lists all the Ted Baker shops locations and inside above the pocket, the words you've got a hold on me, which i thought was quite a cute little touch.
I was slightly worried with the bag being cream it may get scuffed and dirty very quickly, especially with me taking it to college everyday, but in actually fact it never, i was pleasantly surprised. It did get a few what looked to be scuff marks on the underneath but they were not visible thanks to the plastic coating over the top of the bag.
I was very pleased with the bag, it was living up to be more than i hoped for and was only £25. As the year went on and i began putting more and more books in it, i noticed the handles where beginning to tear from the weight, so i had to stop using it as due to the material it could not be repaired and did not want to go spilling my books everywhere. I was rather disappointed that it broke, but i would say it was my fault, as there was a fair amount of weight in there and these are just fashion bags.
Overall i would say this bag is perfect, it was very chic with a sophisticated twist, and i would highly recommend this, but do not over fill it otherwise it will break. Read the complete review |

Radley Banbury Grab Bag
by ladyradley
I have several Radley bags in my collection and this one was bought for me by my daughter. It is different to in the picture as it has cream twisted through the handle too as well as this lovely dusky pink.
I take bags out with me wherever I go and find that I swap and change them depending upon the occasion, the weather and ... even what I am wearing. This particular one is a medium sized bag so i tend to use it on a daily basis as a handbag but when I don't have the grandchildren with me! It is a good size to hold lots of important pieces, I usually take my purse, a little umbrella, my phone, keys, a packet of tissues and a couple of other bits and they all fit in this fine. There is a pocket inside which is useful, it helps me to find things so I always put my keys and phone within this so I can get to them easily else they tend to drop to the bottom and I can never find them when I need them!
It's called a grab bag because the handle is small, it is designed to be held by the hand and not go over your shoulder or be clutched. I like this style, it feels nice to hold a bag like this and you can keep it close too. I do have over the shoulder bags but I feel a bit 'apart' from them being at my side and not at my hand if that makes sense so this feels secure as though noone will dip their hand in it because it is so close to my own hand.
I love the colour of it, it's a lovely dusky pink which I think goes really well with most clothing but I particularly use this when I'm wearing my grey coat as I think they go very well. The handle is twisted leather which gives it an interesting look and it is surprisingly comfortable to hold.
It is a very good quality, it's really lovely. It comes in the cotton sleeve bag which all Radley bags come in which make it seem even more luxurious.
It has tassles that hang down off one side of the handles and a little Radley dog, this is quite simple really, no big huge design but I like it this way and think it is very much the case of 'less is more'. I really like it. Read the complete review |
