“ Brand: Accessorize „
I am on a bit of a roll at the moment with buying handbags as for a while I had been using the same one and had gotten to the stage that I was sick of the sight of it. I don't really have a specific place that I go to buy handbags as it really is a case of if I see one I like, I buy it but obviously I do know where in the past I have bought bags that have broken right away. I had been given an Accessorize gift card as a present recently and had not yet used it, so felt a bit like I should really have a look at their bags and see if anything caught my fancy as it would be a very cheap purchase.
The bag I went for was this 'curved pocket shelly shopper' it is nothing too fancy but comes in an ivory like shade and is a shoulder bag. It is 36cm wide and 25cm in height and has 2 handles. On the front it has a ruched like design to it and there are a few gold studs on the areas that are to be fastened to one another. The bag zips shut and is quite a lightweight design really. It is meant to be in the colour white according to the website but I agree with my ivory statement and if this is not the colour for you, they also do a black and a brown version.
Now, this bag caught my attention mainly for the fact it was simple but sophisticated looking and also the colour was really nice and just the small ruching detail just adds to a nice simple bag that can be used for work or on a day to day basis. The bag is not of the highest quality it has to be said but it is not one of their higher priced bags and for this it may be forgiveable. The zip is always fine to use and so far so good that I have not had any problems with it sticking and it just seems to glide alone and open and close with ease.
The bag itself is very comfortable to wear, I found the straps a very good length that I was happy enough to wear it on my shoulder or on my arm and it didn't slip at all. The straps are very sturdy and can hold quite a bit of weight but I wouldn't over do it either with packing too much. The bag doesn't dig in if you do have quite a lot in there and the overall quality of the bag is not bad for what you pay but I would say that if you wear it quite a lot that it will end up wearing away.
The inside of the bag is quite spacious as well so you could easily fit a lot inside. The bag has an inside zip pocket which can store things that you want to keep out of sight. There is also another pocket part inside which is for a mobile phone as well as a bigger bit next to it where you might want to keep loose change or keys really. The size inside of the bag is good for what you pay for and for a day to day used bag I would say this is perfect as it holds all of the things I need to keep me going and so this is a main factor for me when buying a handbag.
Overall, I am happy with this bag but one thing I will say about the inside that annoyed me is that it didn't have an Accessorize label as well as the fact that the bag is lined with a cheap cotton linen like fabric which makes the bag look a lot cheaper than it is. I'd have hoped a brand like Accessorize would use a higher quality lining especially as the bag is not exactly cheap in price. This is the only thing which makes me rate it a bit lower as otherwise the bag still looks good and I have been using it regularly and it is easy to clean if you get any marks on the outside.
The bag is in stock in most Accessorize stores and costs £28 and the price is not bad considering. If you want to buy it only it is also the same price but you will have to pay a delivery charge. As I said above, it does come in a black or brown colour if the ivory is not for you.
The official Accessorize website is http://www.accessorize.com/ where you can search the bag name and get a closer photo of it.
