      Accessorize wallet

My brother and sister in law gave this wallet to me as a birthday present as a few years ago and I was really pleased with it. We have a rule where we only spend £10 on each other and so I can imagine that this purse was in that region but it doesn't look like a cheap purse which is something I really like about it.

The purse is quite long and thin and in the shape of a rectangle which is good as this fits well into my handbag and doesn't take up too much room or bulk my big bag out. I think the best thing about this wallet is that its completely closed so nothing can fall out. It has a zip around three edges of the bag and then the other edge is sealed anyway so when you fully open the zip the wallet folds open and stays like that allowing you to then get whatever you want from the inside. This is better than other purses I have had which often would spill their contents out into my handbag when they got too full so I like the fact that I can close this purse up and everything is safe.

Inside the wallet there is a zipped coin purse in the middle of the wallet. Its not very big and does not open too wide as it has hard sides to it so I can't fit too many coins in there but as I don't usually carry around that many coins its ok. On one side of the wallet there are spaces for six credit cards and these fit in well, snugly so they don't fall out but they are not too tight that you can't pull them out when you need them. The other side is just open so you can put whatever you want in there.

The wallet is made of a really nice laminated material so even if it does get a bit of dirt on it you can just wipe it clean and anything comes off really easily with a baby wipe. I think this is what keeps the wallet looking so nice and lasts for a much longer time than fabric wallets. The design and pattern of the wallet is absolutely beautiful, its a gorgeous picture of lots of different animals you would find in a woodland scene such as birds, hedgehogs, squirrels and plants, leaves and flowers around them. Its different to any other wallets I have seen and looks really pretty.

A nice wallet that I enjoy having in my bag!

        Fab purse!

So after five years of constant use, my old purse was looking a little worse for wear, with a broken zip and a button clasp that wasn't really clasping anymore. Because of this, I found myself on the lookout for a new purse to keep the pennies safe, and so it was that I walked into Accessorize. Bombarded by choice, this was the purse that stood out to me most, and consequently now sits comfortably in my handbag day in day out (but rarely has much money in it these days I would like to point out... funny how there are countless receipts in there though...).

        ---------------
        Appearance
        ---------------

Initially, the one thing about the purse that stood out to me was its lovely design. As pictured, it's decorated with squirrels, hedgehogs, birds and flowers. I guess I got a bit overwhelmed by the "d'aww isn't this cute?!" factor. As the name of the product suggests, the purse is laminated. While this might sound cheap, I'd rather it be laminated. The last purse I had was made out of a cotton material and so over the years it stained awfully if ever something accidentally spilt on it. With the laminate material, I can be confident that it won't mark and that, should anything spill on it, it can be wiped away easily. If you're interested in getting an idea for the size of the purse (it's definitely not a small night out coin purse!), it measures 19cm (7.5") in width x 10 cm (near enough 4") in height x 2cm (3/4") in depth, and so is definitely sizeable enough to not get lost in your bag, no matter how big it is.

        ---------
        Design
        ---------

Aside from a nice design on the front of the purse, there were two other things that I was looking for - a coin section where I'd actually be able to see the coins I was rummaging for and a purse that would not easily open, as I'd had problems with both issues in the past. It should be apparent from the picture that the latter problem was solved in the form of the nice big clasp on the corner of the purse. The clasp is impossible to open unless you press down on the section protruding above the 'clasp gate' (sorry guys, I don't know how else to describe it...). Thus, your purse opening in your bag and spilling your money everywhere no longer becomes a problem (yes, this has happened to me). If that wasn't enough, there is a zip that runs around three edges of the purse, ensuring that there are no gaps for anything to fall out of (again, guilty).

When the purse is unzipped, you find essentially three sections in the purse. There is a *spacious* zipped coin section (hurrah!), and space for notes, with slots for cards either side of the coin section.

        --------------
        My opinion
        --------------

If you haven't guessed by now, I am completely satisfied with my purchase. Costing £12 from Accessorize, this turned out to be exactly what I'd wanted. As I write this, I have 13 cards stored in various pockets of the purse, a Young Person's Railcard (which, for those of you who don't have one, comes in a pretty chunky wallet of its own!), somewhere in the region of 15 receipts, 2 books of stamps, two £5 notes, and a few bits of loose change. My point is, this product can store a fair bit for what is essentially a relatively slim rectangle of a purse. Whether the laminate material has some elasticity in it, I'm not sure. Either way, I've never had a problem in closing it!

There are only a few issues I could see people having with this (otherwise fabulous) purse. Firstly, the clasp, zip and further zip to get to the coin section might annoy some people. If you're shopping in a rush or your items are being thrown through the checkout faster than you can say "slow down there Tesco", then the point of paying can sometimes take that tiny bit longer with all the unclasping, unzipping, more unzipping, rezipping, rezipping again, and lastly that clasp bit.

Additionally, I do expect the clasp that slots into the 'clasp gate' to one day come off. Whether this be through overuse or too harshly pulling on it, it does not look like the sturdiest of things as it is attached by a small metal ring to the zipper. The metal ring has a tiny gap in it which, for now, poses no problem. However, I can see it becoming wider over time, allowing enough gap for the clasp to fall off.

One last issue you may have is if you are one of those people who enjoys looking at your partner/baby/pet in a transparent pocket in your purse. You can forget that with this purse. The purse has been designed in such a way to make it impractical to have such a section.

That said, do not be discouraged from buying. I am 100% happy with my purchase. The only thing that could improve it for me would be an alarm that tells me when I'm spending too much...
