WHAT IS IT?
A purse by the designer Cath Kidson.
The purse has got an attractive floral design on a navy blue background and you would know straight away that it is one from the Cath Kidson designer. It has got a zip to keep it closed and inside there are slots for cards, a zippered section for coins and spaces for paper money. The fabric that it is made from is quite tough even though it has got such a feminine design and I think it will last for a very long time.
WHAT I THINK
I like this purse very much and was happy to be gifted it at Christmas by my mother. It is very smart so that I can carry it for work and I think the quality shows from the very beautiful pattern and the strength of the purse. I like the zippered section because it is secure and no coins ever fall out or slip at the side of the zip like happened with my last purse.
There are only 6 slots to put cards and I wish there was more because when I am carrying my personal and professional bank cards there is not room for anything else like my cash and carry membership card or my gym card. I always have to put some of my cards into the coin section but I would like it better if I could keep them all together.
I like that I can wipe the purse to keep it clean because I do not always use a handbag and when you carry your purse in your hand a lot it can get dirty quickly. This one still looks like it is new because the colours have not faded and the shape of the purse hasn't changed. I am glad about that because similar purses that I have bought before but cheaper have gone a funny shape after a little bit of use. The zip is very strong also and I do not think it will break.
The way this purse opens up is very good and it let's me see what is inside straight away and that is good because I keep a lot in my purse and it saves me having to keep sorting it out and searching too hard through things.
This wallet costs £25 and that might sound a lot of money for a purse but it is very good quality and something I am very proud to own and to use.
5 Dooyoo Stars.
I love bags and purses and adore my Cath Kidston bag, so it was a lovely surprise when I received this wallet as a gift. I would not have spent so much money on myself for a purse but was so happy to receive this as a gift. This first thing I did was take everything from my old purse and put it in here, this included loads of cards and my money which all fitted in perfectly.
This wallet will cost £26 and can be found on the Cath Kidston website, in the stores and other department stores which stock Cath Kidston.
Notting Hill pattern
This pattern is dark blue with a floral pattern on in a number of colours including red, pink and green. You can get many items from Cath Kidston in the same pattern, including, bags, shoppers, a travel pouch, welly socks, t shirt, sweatshirt dress and even a dog bed!!
Inside the purse
You unzip this purse with a zip which goes across three sides of the purse. The pattern inside is the same as that on the outside, it is a beautiful design. There is a zipped area in the middle of the purse to keep your coins in. And space for 6 cards. There is also space at both sides of the purse to keep extra cards in, paper money and receipts. I found everything to fit in, no problem.
The wallet is so easy to take care of, because of the material you can easily wipe it with a damp cloth. The material is 100% PVC coated cotton and the lining is 100% cotton with leather trims - the material amkes it feel really substantial.
One of the many things which I love about this wallet is how substantial it feels, you can feel the quality. I have had this wallet for about six months and it still looks as good as the day I got it. It is larger than some purses/wallets at 19cm x 11cm - this is a real advantage for me as I have always bought larger purse/wallets. If you would prefer smaller then Cath Kidston does sell smaller ones.
This wallet is really girly but I think it is suitable for so many age ranges - I adore it but can also image my mum and grandma using it. I know it may sound expensive but after using it for 6 months the price is totally worth it
I've owned my wallet for well over a year now, although a different design to one pictured it is by far the best wallet I have ever bought. It's very well made, the fabric makes it waterproof and is easy to clean marks off. Inside there is a zipped space for coins and two spaces where you can put notes and receipts. I have used the purse a lot, and really you wouldn't know that I've owned it for so long. I won't be replacing it for a long while as it is totally worth the money for the quality.
The only vague flaw in the product is the lack of space for credit/debit cards. There's six slots which really isn't enough but there is plenty of space to put them in other parts of the purse. Don't worry, it just means you have to prioritize!
All in all, a very good product only let down by one very minor aspect.
I absolutely adore Cath Kidston products and her Notting Hill design has to be one of my all-time favourite designs because I just think it is so pretty and feminine without being sickly sweet and girly.
The pattern of Notting Hill is a darkish blue with a selection of beautiful flowers in pink, blue and yellow. The overall effect is really striking especially next to the dark background.
The Notting Hill wallet is a fantastic size for daily life and doesn't suffer with what a lot of purses do which is lack of space. Let's be honest most of us have so much junk and cards in our purses these days and although there are loads of gorgeous purses out there most aren't all that practical. There is absolutely no fear of not having enough space with this wallet as it has loads of room in it for everything you could possibly need bar the kitchen sink.
The wallet has a zip opening and once opened there is a middle compartments for coins and then two larger compartments either side for cards, receipts and notes. I have had no trouble with not having enough space since using this wallet and it can hold ten cards in the compartments but there is also loads more room for other cards behind these and I currently have about 18 cards in it with no problems.
The material of the wallet is oil cloth which makes is a really durable material and it keeps the wallet waterproof and stops everything in it getting wet. It is also wipe clean which is a good thing as my purses and wallets all seem to suffer the same fate of becoming dirty really quickly. The oil cloth also gives the wallet a slight sheen but it isn't cheap and tacky looking.
I do find that the wallet is far too large too big to fit it in my jeans and I wouldn't dream of taking it with me on a night out but for everyday use it fits in my hand bag fine and I actually like the larger size as it feels solid and comfortable in my bag so I know it's still there and hasn't fallen out.
I did just buy this wallet because I loved the pattern but it is actually a good wallet too and really practical. It was quite expensive at £25 but like all the other Cath Kidston products that I own it is excellent quality and I am sure it is going to last me for years.
Just over twelve months ago now it was time for me to leave my part time job. I was moving out of my parents house and moving twenty five miles away so therefore it wasn't really possible for me to continue working where I did for just a few hours an evening. Even if I hadn't moved I was becoming ill and therefore I would have probably had to have left anyway but that's beside the point!
Anyway, my lovely boss and her husband decided to buy me a goodbye present as we were close and I had spent a lot of time with them both over the past eighteen months! She knew I was a fan of Cath Kidston and I was really pleased and grateful when she handed me this gorgeous purse. I had had my eye on these for a while but being a student and preparing to move I just didn't think that spending that much on a purse was a sensible idea, after all I did have one that did its job so it was a case of I didn't need one so it could wait.
I immediately loved my purse and I think she could tell that  As soon as I got home that evening I transferred all of my stuff from my old purse to my new one and set about using it!
The purse is quite big in size compared to some, it is about six inches long, four inches tall and between 1.5 and 2 inches in depth. My purse has the green spray flowers design which is one of my favourites, it is very similar to the picture above apart from the background being a green colour instead of blue. Also, my flower clusters are a little bigger and it has a tab with a button at the top which is brown leather and has a little brass Cath Kidston button on. The purse is made of oil cloth which has a wipe clean surface but doesn't look particularly shiny which I like.
Opening the tab, the purse unfolds into two and one side houses cards where there are four compartments and a larger compartment behind this for receipts or other things you may wish to keep hold of. The other side also houses cards and has space for 6 although one of these does have a clear window so could be used to display a photo. Behind these there are two long pouches which you can slide things into easily such as receipts etc. This side backs onto a zipped compartment which is just a simple place to store your cash which is separated in half by another piece of the oil cloth allowing you to separate coins and notes or whatever.
The purse has 10 compartments for cards which is a really good amount in my opinion because lots of purses I have had had half of this amount. I have way more cards than ten what with all the store cards, student cards and of course debit and credit cards but I tend to store my most used cards which are my debit and credit cards along with my driving licence along the side where there are space for 6 and then I store other cards in the compartment which has 4 pockets. I have found these ones fit 3 cards in each no problem so I have supermarket loyalty cards in one, beauty shop loyalty cards in the next, then petrol station loyalty cards and finally my membership cards for English Heritage and National Trust in the final one. Then I store all of my other cards (National Insurance card, Bite card etc) in the large pocket behind these. I really like these pockets because they are lined with a very pretty floral patterned oil cloth which goes really well with the spray design. I find this purse great for cards, even those that I store all together in the large pocket are easy to get to and quick and simple to find the one you are looking for. The only minor problem I have found with the card section is the slot with the window - I store my driving licence in this and when I go out if I am asked for ID I need to get it out which I find difficult. I don't have particularly long nails but I can never pull it out! However, most people would use this slot for a photo I imagine so it's not too much of an issue.
The coin side is great. The zip to open it has a leather tag to use to pull and as the zip is quite a chunky one I have never had a problem with it getting stuck or anything. You can fit a lot in this purse and still be able to shut it fine which is great if you have a lot of change. I do have one small gripe with the coin section which is that if it's been upside down in your bag and you unzip it, where some coins have 'escaped' they then fall out of the side. I can't really think of a resolution for this apart from maybe making the middle separator a bit taller so that the coins stay in their own compartment all of the time.
I have been using this purse for over a year now and it still looks as good as new. The oil cloth fabric means that it doesn't get scuffed or marked and the fact that the inside of the purse is also oil cloth means that dirty coins don't end up leaving grubby marks inside. The zip is of a really good quality and the purse is simple to use and quick to get into. I love the look of the purse and I am always proud if carrying it as I think it looks very pretty and feminine but also, I am aware that it is extremely practical. Touchwood, I doubt that my purse will suddenly become unusable anytime soon but if it did, then I would certainly buy another one because of the fantastic quality. Cath Kidston designs appeal to most females so these are great if you are looking for a gift whether it be for a teenager or someone older. Wholeheartedly recommended.
