“ Manufacturer: Dorothy Perkins / Type: Across-Body Bag „
WHAT IS IT?
A handbag that is made by Dorothy Perkins.
My handbag is called the Quilted White design but it is different to the one in the picture that Dooyoo have got up. It is bigger with a rectangle shape and loop handles. The handles are not long so when you carry it on your shoulder it is direct under your arm, I do not like that and carry it over my forearm instead. The handles are padded but over the time I have had it the padding has cracked and now the handles have a floppy shape that does not look very good.
The handbag has got a lining and it is one big pocket with only a small zipped part for special items. I think it is hard to find things in this bag and it is very bad if you carry too many things around with you. The zipped part is big enough for a phone or keys and lipstick, it is deep but narrow so some things will just not fit.
WHAT I THINK
I liked this bag when it was new but I have only used it a few times and now I do not like it. The bag is white so it gets dirty very quickly but there is a problem with it peeling also so that the bag looks very old. I think I have used it five times only because it looks a lot more cheap than it did on the website. I think it does not look good and I feel embarrassed to use it because it looks so much like plastic.
The bag zips up fully and I like that because a lot of handbags have got only magnet closures now and I do not think they are very safe. I took this bag when I went to a market in Italy because there had been an alert about pick thieves taking purses and this was the one I trusted the most because I could hold it close to my body and trust in the zip.
I have given it away because I did not like it as much as I thought I would when I bought it, it is made to look very special on the Dorothy Perkins website but it is not a good handbag and I have got ones that are better quality and look nicer from the market for less money. I like the effect of the quilting but think that the stitching is not very deep so that the diamond pattern does not stand out as good as it should, it is a shame but I am going to look for another bag like it that is better quality because I thought it was nice and unusual.
The handbag cost me £16 and I think that is a lot of money because it is not very good quality and does not look nice.
2 Dooyoo Stars.
I am a handbag hoarder lol. I love my bags and like to have a bag to match every outfit. I bought this bag in Dorothy Perkins a little while back now for £12. It's on the cheap side for a bag but it actually looks quite stylish and more expensive than it actually cost.
It's all white with a lovely shiny gold square plaque for detail on the front of the bag. The bag has a diamond shaped quilted design which makes it look that bit more expensive. The handle is white with gold chain where it attaches to the bag. I really like this as it adds a little bit of something extra and makes it look a bit more glam. The handle itself is quite thin but sturdy enough as long as you're not gonna stick a brick in there lol. When wearing the bag it comes down to just around your hip.
It has a zip closure which I always prefer for keeping my items safe and secure and inside there is another little sipped pocket. It's a small bag at 4 inches by 5 inches in size but is roomy enough to fit in the essentials such as mobile phone, purse and any makeup you normally carry around.
I've used this a fair few times now and it's still like new.
I bought this handbag to take on honeymoon to Cyprus, as I thought it was a really pretty summery handbag. It's not really my style as I wouldn't usually go for white, but I saw it on a mannequin in the shop and thought it looked lovely to finish off a summer outfit.
The handbag cost around £12 from Dorothy Perkins. It is around 4 x 5 inches in size, and has a long handle which can stretch across the body or on your shoulder. Either way, it rests around hip-level when you're carrying it. The strap is thin but feels strong, and it has gold chain detail at the bottom.
The handbag itself is small but quite roomy. It has an inside pocket which has a zip fastening, and the handbag also fastens by a zip, keeping the contents nice and secure. In terms of size, this is adequate for carrying everything most people need for a night out. Mine fits my phone, purse, lipstick, and other bits and bobs such as my camera when I was on holiday. It can be a tight squeeze with all these things in, but if you position them carefully the bag can hold a fair bit.
In terms of style, the bag has some pretty details. The front is quilted so has diamond shapes sewn across it. There is a gold coloured plate on the front, which doesn't serve any purpose other than to add a little bit of interest and stop the bag being boring. I've never had to clean this handbag as it's never become dirty or anything whilst I've been using it. It seems to repel water so if you had a spillage I don't think it would stain, it should just wipe clean.
I would recommend this handbag for anyone looking for something to use during summer or for holidays abroad. In this country in the constant rain, it looks a little out of place, so hasn't had as much use in recent weeks. It is sturdy and roomy, and looks quite stylish. What more do you need from a handbag?
