A stylish, versatile, and practical bag from Firetrap

I bought this bag to go with an outfit I wore to a Christening. I was wearing black shoes and had a couple of black bags but as the weather was very changeable and we had quite a long walk from the church to the party venue I wanted to be able to take an umbrella and all my bags were too small to fit an umbrella. I bought it from very.co.uk for £35 which is very reasonable for Firetrap, I've bought their bags before and they're generally a fair bit more expensive than that.

The bag measures about 7 x 9 inches and has a quilted effect to it. In the picture it just looks like black pvc, but it's actually got more of a shimmery look to it when you see it up close. It fastens with a silver clasp at the front and has a detachable chain strap.

The bag has a very high quality look and feel to it and it looks very smart. The silver clasp feels very sturdy and fastens securely, clipping into place so I'm not worried about it coming open. The strap is made of a length of pvc looking material threaded through a metal chain and fastens to the bag with 2 keyring style clasps which open at the press of a lever on the side, attached to rings on the sides of the bag. These are easy to open and close so you can wear the bag across the body with the strap or use it as a clutch, though personally I don't think the size or shape of the bag really lends itself to being used as a clutch. It all feels very sturdy and well-made.

Inside the bag is one main pocket and a small phone pocket just at the front. The phone pocket isn't that big so wouldn't hold a lot of the larger Smart phones that are about these days, but it fits my phone fine. The bag is big enough inside that I'm able to fit my compact umbrella, purse, keys, and a few bits of makeup, as well as my phone in the phone pocket.

I've used it a lot since I bought it and it hasn't got any scratches or any other signs of wear and tear, it looks just as good as new, so it's definitely one that's going to last well.

All in all this is a great stylish bag which is really versatile and handy and can be worn with most outfits. It's become a staple in my wardrobe and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a bag that's both stylish and practical.
