Over the last few months I have read several reviews about Irregular Choice shoes, and seeing some gorgeous pictures I'm slowly falling in love. Being a fan of bags more than shoes however, I've yet to take the plunge and buy a pair of the rather expensive shoes. On my last hunt online to see if there was a sale on Irregular Choice, I came across the Lola bag. I hadn't realised that bags were available. Now you're talking!
I immediately bought the Lola bag. It was a great price, it looked fantastic, and I was actually on the look out for a new clutch anyway. Win win!
When the bag first arrived, my immediate thoughts were that it was bigger than I had expected, so this was a pleasant surprise. Sized at 15cm x 33cm x 9cm, it seems bigger than the clutches I had been using previously which is great for me, meaning I can fit more 'stuff' in it when I go out!
Certainly eye catching, the blue polka dot material with the large oversized bow on the front won't be to everyone's taste, but for me I find the quirkiness of these items fantastic. The name Irregular Choice just couldn't be more fitting.
As with most clutch bags, it isn't the most secure fastening, fastening only with a magnetic clasp. Better than nothing I guess, but its something to consider when going out, that you need to be conscious that possibly your phone, house keys and money are all in one small space and are easily accessible if you're not on the ball. The inside zipped compartment adds a little more security, and I will often put my bank card and cash in this little compartment.
The detachable strap is a handy option so you can either wear the bag over the shoulder or 'clutch' it! I prefer to carry mine and usually take the strap off these kind of bags (in fact I have a bag just with the straps from my clutches inside!). There is a cute little charm detail on one side of the bag with 3 charms on it including a strawberry, a monkey and an ice cream. I don't have the matching shoes, but I know from information on the website that the matching shoes also have this charm on them.
The fabric material of the bag means you do have to be careful with it not to get it mucky. It contrasts different fabrics and materials making it look great, but a little awkward to clean. If you look after it, the odd rub with a damp cloth should be enough to keep it looking at its best. The contrasting snake effect lining inside the bag, hasn't had the same fate, with one of my lipsticks losing its lid and lining the inside of the bag with make up, I was tempted to put the whole thing in the washing machine but I'm not sure I dare!
I often receive compliments regarding the bag when I'm out, so I will definitely be investing in the shoes soon.
RRP is £50, but I picked mine up from ebay brand new for around £25.
I previously reviewed my favourite shoes, which are called Trinkletina by Irregular Choice.
This is one of the 3 matching bags I have for the shoes.
I absolutely love this bag. I love clutch bags and this one is really cute.

This Irregular Choice Lola clutch bag is available on www.amazon.co.uk for £24.99, but I managed to get mine for around £17.00 a few months ago.
~ Appearance ~
The clutch bag is quite large. It is 12.5 inches from one side to the other.
It is made from bright blue felt, but it has a large red bow with white polka dots and the top of the bag has red and white gingham material on it. The back of the clutch bag is also made from this gingham material.
The clutch bag opens with a magnetic press-stud.
The inside of the clutch bag is lined with a bright orange coloured velvet material. There is a zip compartment inside the clutch bag against the back of it, but you would not be able to fit much in it.
There is a long, red, patent, detachable strap, which can be clipped onto small metal rings on either side of the inside of the clutch bag.
There is also a charm attached to the clutch bag with three charms on. One is a strawberry, one is an ice cream and one is a monkey holding a banana. These are the same charms that are attached to the sides of the matching shoes.
The clutch bag looks really cute. It is a lovely design.

I was impressed with the size of this clutch bag. I can go out and take my keys, phone, purse, body spray and the odd item of make-up and they all fit into this bag without a problem.
The bag looks really attractive. I am not keen on the strap and I always remove it when I take this bag out as I think using it without the strap makes the bag look more formal and dressed up.
I also find that the strap is quite irritating. It has been folded down several times to fit into the bag and it is quite rigid and the folds seem to stay in place making the strap look really cheap.
My friends were really impressed by this bag and I have received a lot of positive comments on it.
The clutch bag is good quality and I have had no problems with it. I do sometimes worry that it will get dirty or have a drink spilt over it, but I try to take care of it and it has been alright so far.
I think the size is really convenient, allowing me to carry all of my essentials with me. I have used so many clutch bags where I have had to swap my usual purse to a tiny one and have been unable to take all of the things I'd like to with me.
On the occasions I have used this bag I have worn a little black dress and my matching shoes.
I would also use this clutch bag on its own, without the matching shoes. It is very pretty and I think it would be easy to pull off with almost any dress.
~ Conclusion ~
I love this bag. I think the design is fantastic and it looks really cute.
I think it is a brilliant design as it gets the balance between beautiful and practical perfect. It is a really good size. I can fit all of my essentials in it and the design is gorgeous.
I have seen this bag in another colour and I am considering buying it in another colour as it is a really nice clutch bag. I definitely think it is worth the money and I would recommend it.
I've been a fan of irregular choice shoes for a number of years. They're not the cheapest of product so I only own 6 pairs of shoes and two hand bags, but they are amongst the most individual items I own and always get positive comments. It may be an irregular choice, but it's the right choice. Here's why...
This review is of the turquoise and red version of the Irregular Choice Lola Cutch.
The bag is designed to match the Oz Charm Bow Court, amazing Irregular Choice shoes that are now very difficult to get hold of. Sadly I don't have the shoes but bought the bag to go with a pair of red heels (I personally thing the matching bag and shoes is too much and limits versatility). The fibrant bag goes with quite a number of colours and bridges that gap between smart and casual so can be used when dressed up or down.
The outside body of the back contains three different fabrics (A mixture of fabrics and patterns is a signature of Irregular Choice). A red check cotton type fabric is combined with turquoise felt, creating a mixture of fabrics. It is finished with a red spotty bow and red piping around the edges. There is also an adorable little monkey attached to the bag which I've sadly managed to lose.
The inside of the bag is a nice and fluffy orange colour with a small zip pocket (Good for loose change if you're not carrying a purse). I've had mine a while now and there is sometimes a small residual amount of fluff but very tiny. It doesn't get dirty easily but be careful if it does. Try to ensure that you use a damp rather than wet cloth. The same goes for the outside. I also like the inside of the flap which has a very pretty floral design.
The versatility of the strap allows you the opportunity to use as a clutch or a shoulder bag. Clips on the side make the strap easily removable but you do need to be careful. As the bag is a felt like material the clips can cause slight holes in the felt if not positioned right. I had this issue with my Irregular Choice Scotty Dog Clutch which is of a similar design but not with this bag as I was more careful the second time. The strap is a gold coloured twisted metal which is very pretty. It's long enough to allow the bag to sit at the hip
The bag is approximately 43cm by 22cm and 94 cm wide. Being a clutch it's not the type of bag to carry your life long belongings in but it's certainly big enough for the essential keys, purse, lipstick, sunglasses. The bag fold in on itself making it more extendable at thew bottom, therefore slighter bigger than it appears.
The British company has been around since 1999, formed to create more unique shoes that stand out. Sold primarily online (With ASOS, Schuh and Amazon key stockists), there are three store in the UK two of which are in London and the other Brighton 9The Irregular Choice birthplace).
~Price & Availability~
The rrp price for the bag is around £35 but you can often get it for £20, depending on the colour. My turquoise version is currently £19.95 at amazon.
