Advantages: handy for carrying things in

Disadvantages: I can look a bit odd

Over the years I have bought various bum bags, belt purses. I have just thrown
away a leather waist pouch v much like the one in the picture.
After many years of use the leather was wearing thin and it was past its best. I saw a similar one on sale at http://www.arnoldleathergoods.co.uk/acatalog/Bumba g%20Black%201738P%20-Big.jpg.
It costs £12.

My leather bum bag was black but they are available in a variety of colours red, blue, burgundy, green. The reasons why I own a bum bag is because of security.

I go to rock festivals in the summer and find that I needed somewhere to carry my
money, tickets, keys and medicines so that I would not lose them. A rucksack is not ideal as When put it down on the grass beside me while I soaked in the vibes of the fest it could be easily nicked.
My pockets were not big enough.

I also go on long walks on holidays exploring new places. I often take a rucksack
sometimes do not want to be encumbered by one, so this bag was a good
size again for money, credit cards and other essentials, a tampax, a snack bar for
nibbling on, medicines, I get migraines so I usually take a couple of painkillers
with me.

My black leather bum bag like the one in the picture measured about 240 x 125 x 90mm The one I found on the internet comes in two sizes one fits up to a 96 cm 38 inch waist one up to a 127 cm 50 inch waist had a large zipped compartment my cheque book if folded would fit in it, My small purse with money in it fits in too, a harvest crunch bar fitted in well with room for a couple of other bits and pieces. I would often have a biro and a small notebook in it too. A mobile phone would easily fit in it.
The clasp on thyis bag is good it locks into place and does not come undone easily.

As well as the main compartment there was a smaller zipped pocket at the front I used this one for my tickets and some identification a list of emergency contacts so if I were found sprawled at the bottom of a ravine in foreign places people would know who I was and could tell people what had happened to me.

There is a small zipped pocket at the front not very big I kept a coin or two in there for the telephone, my key often is in there two.

I found this waist bag very useful and I used it a lot I now have a different one. The leather the bag was made from I think was pigskin it lasted quite well the zips did not get stuck or broken.

I would recommend it or one like it for when you do not wish to carry a handbag or rucksack it leaves your hands free, I think it is less likely that you get stuff nicked from it at festivals.

Thanks for reading Mary

Summary: A good little bum bag for hands free carying of essenials

They are useful, yes, but they do look odd, don't they?

These are great for fun fairs too. We wore them all the time in Disney. Lorraine
